Thank you all for a great thread, I have been an avid reader for some time now. I'm a TH9 with max valks but have put them aside for last couple months. The main reason is the prevalence of loons, and to a lesser extent drags, in the defensive ccs. I'm not a novice and consistently 3 star 9s with GoHo, but would like to have the flexibility of valks back in my repetoire. So my questions are:
1. In a standard GoViz (with back end hogs/loons) opening, have you guys changed the timing of when to drop the valks? I find that their speed ends up getting the loons on them and they go down. When I have delayed my drop to make sure the cc is on golems I find my funnel is messed up and pathing unpredictable. Maybe new poison update negates this but I haven't tried in war. I always leave buildings in the middle of the funnel to path my valks, but if I delay the valks longer my golems get wrecked since they have no wiz support.
2. Did you guys just start doing cc kills to open an attack since most ccs have troops that are rough on valks? My main worry is time with doing separate cc kills.
Basically, I'd like to know what you expert valkers have done differently (if anything) to account for ccs. Specifically, timing of valk drop and maybe what you have changed with funnel. Thanks again for an awesome thread.
When poison was added I started luring again. But the poison revamp is letting me freeze/poison - also the AI change to the radius that attacking troops engage defending is another boon
Dragons though just require 5-6 Wiz behind your Valks raged and a heal to cancel the splash
Loons where painful to deal with. Now though a poison pops those bad boys. Add in now that freeze hits air troops and poison slows attack speed - this was a great update for valk users

Will it work better than 2 Heal 1 Rage? To help Valks survive longer against the last remaining defenses while the CC Hogs pummel them (I use max hogs on my GoWiVa mostly)
Most people would recommend HoVa or LoVa (GoVaLo) but GoWiVa might be my go to attack if I can not figure out what strategy will I use...but around 70% (I think) of the time I only get 2 star...so that is why I am looking for ways to refine my strategy...I do use Hogs in CC too...
Depends on hog focus.
If your valks are their for hero kill and to eliminate some splash, then yes. But if you got a pair of golems, and using hogs surgically the rage is great with valks and staggered wb
If only using cc hogs I personally prefer rage BUT if your struggling to keep units alive and not needing to beat the clock, that extra heal can be a bit better to counteract giant bombs and splash
