Why isn't GoWiVa as popular as GoWiWi/GoWiPe?

the reason people "groupthink" and don't try new things is the cost of this new trial. think of it this way, to level valks to max it takes 36 days and 180k dark elixir. if this is a new trial do you really want to invest that much time and dark elixir into a test that might not turn out well? on the other hand you know gowipe and lavaloon is a proven attack and works time and time again as long as its executed properly. what would you choose to upgrade first?

you sir are an innovator, taking a risk and using something that isn't the norm. others not so much but can you blame them.

oh and before you say it i know you can use them at lvl 1 without upgrading them but even then you have to be sold on them enough that you can ignore every other troop and think "valks are the best thing to upgrade right now" or else they just stay level 1 while you upgrade other things. as far as clan wars are concerned you have to be sold on the fact that using valks is your strongest attack or else you are attacking way too low or just messing around not trying to win.

Fair points. When I was unlocking valks, I didn't really know much about dark troops, outside of hogs, and just recall being shocked upon seeing their stats because I expected them to be way weaker,, lower hp, etc,. based on their low popularity. I thought there must have been some major downside that I wasn't accounting for, but when I received zero good justification for their unpopularity, I became convinced that valks were undeservedly ignored for the (perhaps inevitably) group mentality that arises in a game like this.

Still, following the decision making process you outlined, I conducted my 'trial' using lvl1-2 valks at late th8 and found that I didn't need to ignore every other troop in order to make valks effective. They proved their worth at lvl1 and became viable in th9 war right off the bat at lvl2. Thus, it doesn't require a large blind investment in the form of committing 36 days and 180k dark elixir. You can work them into your th8-th9 upgrade plan intermittently and use the throughout the entire process.

Been using my vals for about last three wars, they are maxed and I am th 9 , results awesome on th9s they move so quick , do so much damage three starring bases regular, 2 golems , bout 6 wiz, 8 was king 16 queen 16

It really depends but the idea behind chosing one Pekka instead of 25 Barbarians applies to Valkyries aswell. Lose 50% of health and don't lose damage output. But Valkyries have other variables like high MS and spin damage which may turn her better than Pekkas in the right occasions.

If u must compare Pekka with Valkyrie then..

Pekka does high damage Valkyrie is not.
Pekka deal single target Valkyrie splash.
Pekka move slow Valkryrie is a rabbit.
Pekka weak to tesla Valkyrie not.
Pekka take 25 housing space while Valkyrie 8

And so, instead of choosing, I used GoVaPe as my comp. Pretty much deleveled almost any mid or maxed th9.

Valkyrie is best for compact bases, where their splash attack damages multiple building at once, thus save you some valuable time. And while Pekka has high hp and may act as a tank, their move speed is slow, meaning wizard will outrun them, and killed by defenses. While Valkyrie, also has decent hp, will outrun wizards and act as the most valuable tank for wizards to do more damages. Tell me how often it is that your golems ran to the other side, leaving your wizards to be annihilate by defenses, ahile your Pekka was doing merry go round the base.

People don't understand Valk, don't really use them cause its out of their safe zone in war. Its understandable but once you get the grasp of how Valky work, they are 1 cool unit to play with.

The main problem with call attacks is funneling. You really really really need to clear the way for them or they will wonder off...

I much prefer valks over pekkas, i do a lot of GoVaLo, ValOon, and vaHo attacks. I haven't done a gowipe since th8 especially since gowipe is only good for 2 stars.

How does this strategy work for TH8s?

I am close to maxing out TH8, all defences and traps maxed. Half of my walls are still level 7, half are Skull level 8, finishing the rest of my lab upgrades. 5 days left on Golems L2, then have Pekkas L3, then Hogs L4.

Was planning on leaving my Valks L1 and Healer L2...

Are Valks useful at TH8 for this GoWiVa strategy? I always thought Valks were useful but you basically need to have a jump spell or else they are useless.

My Golems will be L2 soon, Wiz L5, WB L5, etc..... if this is a viable strategy at TH8 do Valks have to be level 2?

Is there a noticeable difference between L1 and L2 Valks? Don't see a huge stat increase with Valks as I do in other Troops, like Balloons L4 to L5 you get like a 40% increase in HP and 50% damage increase, Wizards from L4 to L5 have like a 25% HP increase and a 33% damage increase...

Just looked up Valk to get exact accurate numbers from L1 to L2 the DPS increases by 12.5% and the HP increases by ~11%. Which to me doesn't seem that noticeable.

If th8 Valks can be used I know every upgrade helps but I'll put off using them if they have to be level 2.

However I am looking forward to trying a GoVaPe attack later in th9 with jump spell ofc

Lvl 2 valks should def be done at th8. Once you get to th9, there will be so much other ♥♥♥♥ for your lab that you'll never get back to valks. Meanwhile they could have been effective for you thru late th8 and early th9.

Valks tend to suck vs high level walls on a th9 level.....So if you were to imagine vsing th10s with infernos valks wont survive. Gowiwipe however can survive. Hope this helps :smirk:

I've considered brimstone Valks (so maybe 5 golems 10 Valks 10 wizards then maybe like 1 loon) or maybe some combo of golems Giants Valks and wizards at 10??? Any thoughts there?
