Something to prevent DE sniping with Lightning Spell...

I hate this so much, Im unable to get past 20k-ish DE cuz as soon as I hit this mark I get sniped by low-lvls all the time.

My first idea was to add a defensive Lightning Rod spell that you can place on a building and the prevents all Spell damage to it for one attack round.

My second idea was to add a Lightning Rod mode to Teslas. If you switch to this mode they won't attack anything but only absorb any damage from Lightning Spell in a 3-4 tile radius.

No clue if this idea was borught up before but Im so furious atm I think this issue needs to be addressed somehow...

To make myself clear, I 100% support zapping and I dislike any idea that nerfs it.

Zapping DE storage isn't even cost efficient. If someone somehow manages to zap up to 1ks of DE from you, chances are you have high level drills that can produce it back.

Just give them a taste of their own medicine and revenge zap their DE.

I thought an upgrade to the elixir storage that attaches a lightning rod to it which directs the electricity straight to the ground leaving the storage unharmed by lightning. HOWEVER, too many people support zapping. It's unfortunate, since the game is based on strategy and there is nothing strategic about standing back and letting a spell do the work.

Not to sound rude, but... you have lots of things to do already to help with this.

1. Upgrade storages.

2. Go higher in trophies.

3. If it's so good, do it yourself. You should be able to make back what you lost easily.

I am currently around 1700-1900 trophies, usually with 50k-100k dark elixir. Lightning spells have been used on my dark elixir storage probably once this week. So 2k TOPS. What is the problem with that? Isn't it better than them stealing all your gold, elixir, and dark elixir by using a more proficient army?

They may not take a lot per attack, BUT they usually pick off exposed collectors/mines and drop all of their lightning spells. Which means there is no chance of a shield. So, let's say you get attacked multiple times in a row by zappers. They can easily drain your storages. THAT is what makes this worse than a full attack. My storages have been halved in one night by zappers.

Better yet, revenge and 100% them when they have full storages.

Put your TH outside. If someone zapped me they usually take the TH too so I get a shield

Why should everyone have to put their TH outside just to adjust for zappers? What if I want to keep my trophies without the risk of losing all of my DE? Why should people who play the game right have to sacrifice anything just so people can continue to steal? The whole point of the walls and defenses is to protect your goods. It all seems pointless if people can stand just out of reach and take what they want with magic. If you want what I have, you should have to work for it. The way the game was MEANT to be played.

Why are you so worried about loosing loot. You loose loot, u need to attack more earn that loot back. Thats the whole point of this game

What level league and th are you?
Im lvl86 farmin in gold 3 and th9

Without raiding for de in perticular I automatically get around 30k when I dont spend it.

If you get zap it likely to be a lower lvl player so I just 3 star them.

When you get attacked, and its a LEGIT attack. They will either lose and likely not get much loot. Or they will win, taking a good chunk of loot, but giving you a shield in return. When you get zapped, they may only take a small amount, but so many people are doing it. So a base with a lot of DE will likely be zapped multiple times and none of those attacks will give the defender a shield. And before you say "put your TH outside", that's bull. I should have to change my strategy to allow people to continue to zap. Because the game was made to force players to WORK for their resources. Not just take it with no skill or strategy.

Disagree, lets all clashers enjoy lightining on de , yesterday i lost 1000 de by lightining.

Zapping needs no nerf, it is perfectly fine. A reasonable strategy if you ask me

I like the idea of tesla obsorbing some of the lighting attack because its lighting based but the storage I must disagree my reason is if we have a lightning rod on de storage then y not the gold and elixor next it wouldn't be fair that your defenses get destroyed or even th with rods on everything it would make the lightning spell useless so not a good idea but tesla would be cool as long as it was a small aera around it

This man gets it. Zapping is a horribly inefficient way to get DE. I did that a little as a th7 because I read all the whining on the forums here and figured it must be a pretty good strategy to warrant so many complaints. I learned it's a lot easier just to barch it. I've even come to appreciate getting zapped since my DE storage pretty much always yields the maximum available loot for attackers. I could lose 2k to a raid, or a few hundred to lightning. It's an easy choice.

Sure it may not seem to be fair to just make a specific building immune to a spell but you have to consider that the DE storage provides next to no defensive benefit so a trophy pusher would much rather zap something like a mortar or an AD. An average zap with 2 level 4 lightnings will give me about 250 DE, that's 125 DE per spell for 20,000 elixir each.
However if i just did a snipe with 20 level 4 archers that would only cost 3,200 elixir for 100 DE and i didn't even have to wait half an hour to do it and if i somehow managed to get a snipe in champions that goes up to 800 DE.
And if i sniped 3 full level 6 drills with 10 archers each, that would be 4,800 elixir for 3,600 DE!
Way more effective than zapping.

In what way is zapping a "strategy". You are simply taking advantage of an attack that has no risk. Zapping is used by people who know that they have such horrible attack strategy that they can't get their troops inside a base to the DE storages. It's ineffective to use, but it is a huge inconvenience for the defending bases since this is a way to steal from a base without the chance of them receiving a shield. Learn how to attack and earn the resources!

I'll take a zapper over someone wiping me out of all my available dark elixir.

I am against any idea whatsoever that nerf lightning spell. 99% of the complainers are th9 who are preying on th8s before you say you can't get any loot. Remember they played clash of clans the better way but when a th higher than them 3 stars their base, you can't blame them. Every single complainer that calls zapping a cowardly way to get loot, is a complete hypocrite because while they call zapping cowardly, bullying a lower th is also cowardly. The only way zapping should be fixed is if the trophy system was fixed so that a th can only attack a th their same level. I know... you hate it, it would be the end of farming, well... so is nerfing the lightning spell

Clearly you didn't read my post. I explained the difference between a higher TH attacking a lower, and zapping DE. When a higher TH attacks a lower one (wrong as it may be) It still gives the defender a shield. Zapping, on the other hand, steals DE using 0 strategy, and leaves the defender open to another zap attack. This means that a base can be drained of DE in a single night. And even if the attacker has a higher TH, it still requires a bit of skill and strategy to get in and get the DE. Standing back and throwing spells at the storages is not only ineffective, but it also requires 0 skill and absolutely no strategy. This is a STRATEGY BASED GAME. The lightning spell is not intended to be abused the way all these zappers are abusing it. Work for your resources. Stop bumming off of the people who are playing the game right. And as for higher players attacking lowers. I've been a TH 8 for about a week and NOT ONCE has any TH 9s attacked me, but I've been zapped multiple times every time my shield is gone. So who is the real problem?

they could fix this problem by getting another dark elixir storage it will reduce the amount of dark elixir for example with 1 dark elixir storage they can steal 1,000 dark elixir if they bring in 2 then they can only steal 500 dark elixir

It is part of the game, get over it.
Would you prefer someone to:
1. Get zapped for 1.5k DE and get a shield OR
2. Get full-on attacked and lose 3k and get a shield?

Either way, just attacked more than you lose.

You do know you can push for trophies with TH outside. I did it, and it saved me lots of elixir as I only got people just sniping me and not going for my entire base. You'll lose less trophies from the 1-star and you'll save loot (probably), however it is unlikely you'll gain trophies through defense but it's way better losing 300-400k elixir each attack.

You do know you can push for trophies with TH outside. I did it, and it saved me lots of elixir as I only got people just sniping me and not going for my entire base. You'll lose less trophies from the 1-star and you'll save loot (probably), however it is unlikely you'll gain trophies through defense but it's way better losing 300-400k elixir each attack.

I would rather be full on attacked. I spent a lot of time setting up my base specifically to protect my resources. It seems pointless though considering the fact that people can just drop spells in the center of my base to take my resources and I don't even get a shield from it. We can protect against any troop that can steal resources, why not be able to protect against spells that steal resources. I say add the lightning rod. Make these bums work for their loot.

OMG put a damn sock in it. It's easy enough to loot DE at the 1400-1600 trophy range with just a barch army and a few wall breakers. Also I have never been attacked repeatedly by people who solely use the lightning spell. This is an absolutely ludicrous idea and need to be put on ruled out ideas.

If it is SOO easy to loot DE with a barch army, why are people still zapping? And just because you haven't been repeatedly attacked by people who solely use lightning spells, that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. What a self centered way of thinking. Also, if these posts irritate you so badly, why did you read it? I know, because you wanted to post your comment in the hopes that you would make people angry. maybe because they do it for a little extra loot (in this case, DE)?
If I find a snipe which holds more than 2.5k DE (and if I have 2-4 lightning spells), imma zap em. why? cuz YOLO

do it back to them your dumb theres something called a loot penalty I am a town hall 10 and town hall 7's zap my dark elixir they steal 1,300 dark elixir if I can only steal 130 dark elixir from them because of the loot penalty I get 25% of what you normally get because we are 3 town halls different
