Please give us a response about restoring our levels???

I truly think that taking the level indicator out of the game was a major mistake. Not only does it make clan chat more difficult but also it effects the way I raid. There is a difference between a lvl 80 TH8 and a lvl 50. Obviously, one can say just check out the defenses, but level is a very easy indicator of how strong of a base someone has. I really hope Supercell considers putting it back in.

I miss my Level :( I worked hard for that... but hey i will get over it if its not restored or do a little virtual jig if it is...

Most of our clan rules revolve around levels, no rules revolve around leagues, so we really want to the level display restored please!!!

There is a problem of program size for this display method. Assuming that there are 200 levels, and 18 divisions in 6 leagues, then there will be 200x18=3600 different badges to be stored and called upon in the COC program, it might be too much for the memory or storage space requirement of this game. SC might just utilize the existing level icons with the 18 league badges, so there are a total of 218 different icons :)

Levels are great. so much easier to tell who is an experianced player or not. i am level 87 with Gold III at the moment. League badges isnt an accurate way to determine who is a skilled clasher or a newbie :)

I worked for my levels ( 20$ spent for builder huts) everything else i farmed for. seeing my level not show up when i chat just doesnt feel right.

Yup.. I also think they are trying to incorporate the level together with the league badges.
And with the calculations made above, there are 3600 different combinations.

So it will take some time to code and test, and being able to match clash of clan's graphical standard.

And supercell doesn't like to give out too much info, in case they cant fullfill our expectations.

So just.. be patient i guess.

The only reason I could think of is you guys want us to concentrate more on that shiny badge league (more gems will be bought) when recruiting rather than our lvl. well play!

Wow, a guy made a perfect solution (combined league and level badge, x93 I think) for a problem that obviously exists, and you're like "Nah, we're right. We just are, because ♥♥♥♥ you." That kind of attitude didn't turn good for any company in the long term.

I understand you guys at Supercell make more money when players are in the high trophy range, hence all the league fanfare... But c'mon, seriously, don't make it that obvious. Give people their levels back, they earned them.

And all others, don't ask for it, demand it.

P.S. And just as a reminder, at the moment of writing this, out of 164 people, 161 wanted their level badge back. I'm sure you all at Supercell are very good at math, do the work, interpret the nubmers.

What about when recruiting in global? It takes forever to check everyone's bases one by one...

I think the only people who are upset of not being able to see there levels are majority high level players who are farmers, so it is not such an appealing site for they eye when a level 90 has the same emblem as a level 25 because he or she decides to farm. I reckon it is a great idea the badges. Give high level trophy players some gratitude for there gem spending lol.

Their response to the issue is more upsetting to me than the actual issue itself.

They're obviously trying to make leagues relevant. The victory reward in inadequate, so they're hoping the epeen value of the badge will motivate players to chase trophies.

For my part, I'm fine with anything that encourages players to ignore their best interests. I sincerely hope SC is successful at getting people to buy into the trophy hunt and league badges. It will make high end farming that much easier.

Not sure what is the problem with doing a small maintenance break to restore our levels. i for one am very disappointed that levels will not be restored. as a long term player it kills me softly to learn the direction SC took with taking away levels. i haven't read once that levels were something us players wanted to be taken away. we all said levels didn't matter but in the end it does and a lot of people are sad to see how we got our levels taken away :(

1) Your level wasn't taken away, you just can't see it in global.

2) To see somebody's level in global requires two taps of the finger on you iOS device.

Step 1) Tap their green box
Step 2) Tap "Visit"

3) Clan members can all see each others levels and league ranks

The only thing missing is people in GLOBAL can't see your level unless they perform the two simple steps above in #2.

That's it.

No earth shattering, game-ending change.

'game-ending change' , maybe not. but the point here isn't about the game ending or anything along those lines, its about levels and for what reason was it taken away in the 1st place? Sure we can do step 1 and 2 but why even make it harder for us to see the level of the player? many are so used to seeing that level next to our name and it suddenly being stripped isn't such a good feeling considering i spent so much time in the game ( started mid September) maybe to YOU its not a big deal but im sure you have seen the polls we arent happy

It should be obvious.

It was taken away so that more emphasis and attention would be placed on the league shields and trophies. People were always saying trophies didn't matter. Well, now they matter.

Honestly it's hard to imagine a more irrelevant number than village level. It served a purpose in motivating CC donations but with the donation tracker no longer serves any purpose I can discern. It's a poor marker of either village strength or town halls destroyed which as far as I know are the only other contributors. Looking at the village for five seconds will tell you far more about its defensive strength than looking at the number in the blue box.

I don't know if their league system will ultimately be successful, but I hope it will be because I think it would make the game better. I don't think the system works right now which is likely fueling some of the unhappiness given that village level is being replaced by a badge which seems meaningless to large portions of the forum. But I'd rather have them invest effort in making the league system work than rolling back the badges. A working league system is better for everyone.

It should be obvious that showing a league badge instead of a level badge in global chat doesn't make trophies matter. That's why so many people are requesting the change back.

They don't have to roll back the badges, just display the rank inside the badge as shown many times in the numerous threads.

Yeah, I know what you are getting at. +minimal gold/+minimal elixir per win. But they did create a tiered league that has clearly made people change the layout of their bases and a fair percentage of players to have more interest in trophies.

BTW, I was expecting somebody to bite when I typed "they matter", just didn't expect it to be you.

It defo needs to be done as its kinda put alot of people off chat . U dont know who ur talking to until u load there village . Also There are players who don't attack they just upgrade from there own resources . What happens with those players as its just an empty sheild ??? Defo need player levels back . Lots more reasons other then my own

Come on Steve give it a rest with the updates,they come so fast now its unbelievable.Just let people play without all the constant changes.Can they not do one of those server side tweaks like they do with the loot percentages.Pleeeaassseeee stop with the updates until battlefield4 comes out,and then I won't care.Before you "leave your collector"people start it will be all tucked away inside walls with my defence protecting it.You get nothing for nothing in this world.

One says no, the other says no unless we change their minds. While I would be fairly surpise to see level reinstated in chat, a small possibility is better than none. Obviously, I am not happy with either of those responses.

Those weren't the phrases I was referring to, but whatever. The bottom line is that while I hope for levels to be brought back, I somewhat doubt it happening.

I don't think people are upset with the league system, I know I'm not at least. I love the idea of smaller leaderboards, but my problem comes in when they remove the level # itself. It is most definatly NOT irrelevant in thee least bit. It serves a purpose, it shows people they you are a "good" player, that a good clan would like to pick up. It also serves the purpose of showing potential recruits that YOU are a "good" player, and increase the likelyhood of them joining you. Te other issue at play here isn't the inability to see levels, because you can still see them, the problem comes in when a higher level player begins to get mauled on global, those few seconds it takes now to see their level, they could have been picked up by some clan that doesn't mind level at all. I think that's why ppl are upset. I know that's why I am at least.
