Instantly, I would get tons of responses, "Join my clan" "Please join" "I'll make you elder" "My clan could use you" "You would be an asset to my clan, join me Mr808"
Why? Because of my lvl. Not because they took the time to look at my base, but because they thought lvl meant I would be a legitimate asset to their clan. I could just as easily, go into their clan, get elder, boot everybody with my elder-wand and rinse/repeat this process hundreds of times during the day until I got bored.
NOW, people have to take the time to critically analyze a player, by interviewing them, looking at their base, etc..before adding them to their clan.
Before, clans were meaningless temporary groups. Now, with the removal of this pointless number, maybe clans will have more meaning and people will put more commitment into their little gaming groups.
If they bring back the numbers, I'll just go back to making people think "83" means more than just the number after 82.
