Yes I have read through it. Some good ideas there, but we have no idea If they will ever be implemented in the game.
I have told you the reasons before. SuperCell doesnt want to just make the ultimate game. They want to keep having the ultimate game that keep players buying gems. Im in a clan with players that have used thousands of euros on it, so I know what they dont want to loose. Our leader have allready quitted for personal reasons after using over 10k Euro and staying on top in Norway for months. So we must allways keep in mind that our suggestions must not counter with SuperCells cashflow or else it will never be implemented. Just check Steves list.
What I still want an answer for is how Elixir for Walls is a good change for the game and how it isn't a problem for the economy. I mean as the game is right now.
Just had a very slow 2 hour boosted barching session. Just got 1 million each of gold and elixir and half the elixir was blown on the troops and spells used. Luckily, I managed to snag 5k DE so it wasn't a waste.
I think making it so that only lvl 9 walls that cost 1 million can use elixir as upgrade cost. At the least it should be 500k walls ie lvl 8 walls. Really, farming lvl 7 walls can be done even by casual players, and elixir isn't wasted at later stage of TH7 unlike TH9 or TH10.
Lets face it COC is coming to an end...........
Sorry, but I did not get much out of that post. You giving away elixir to TH7 to fast and it was unfair that you could afford attacking someone with a full Dragons army?? Not trying to be rude her, but clean up your arguments and make them easy to understand, reply to my post where I ask for an explanation on how this is good and I'll get back to it.
Its 10/16/14 at 9:23 AM eastern and the loot is still the worst it's ever been.
My base went over 45 minutes without getting raided, and my TH is outside of my walls. To me this means more and more people are going inactive.
I know you can't or won't give any info about what you're discussing among yourselves, but can you answer this? Do you have a plan in place or a sort of centralized theme for the loot fix, or are you still in the brainstorming phase? I ask because if you're still not sure, then I guess it shows the level of difficulty for said fix. Also, I don't think anyone else has asked this question.
Okay, sorry. That was about as clear as i could be. Maybe this works better??
Elixir, worthless for me = elixir too easy to get for some other weaker players
Elixir, worthless to me = disregard to army cost when going off line, punking players that i find in my search queue when i log on again
Elixir, worthless to me = elixir worthless to you (assuming you dont chase cups) at some point in the future
Elixir, worthless to you = elixir worthless to others
Elixir worthless to others = bad game strategy for SC
Elixir for walls = elixir not worthless to me
Elixir not worthless to me = all the above stuff is avoided.
You dont have to agree with any of that but all of the maxed players in my clan are happy to have a use for elixir again. They have an issue with lack of loot but none of them are focussing on lix for walls as the reason. They are looking at the bigger picture...
Removing the ability to upgrade walls with lix will not solve the loot problem. I'm not even convinced it is the the main cause for the drop in available elixir. There are lots of other factors at play here....a key one being some players use of automation to constantly raid for them which is clearly against the ToS. If you know what I am talking about, then you know how that will clearly drain more resource from the game than any one doing the odd wall will...
Steve, your arrogance really shows through on this post. People are joining the forums, never having posted before, to inquire what happened to the loot. Many well articulated discussions have been had about just how bad the loot is for the upper TH levels and practical solutions. NONE of this is 'irrational'. The game is barely playable. Do you want to be employed in two years? Because seriously Steve, the game is borderline unplayable right now and new gaming options are being created daily.
Also, thank you for spilling the beans in the second part of your post. The forum now knows that not only an imminent change to the loot problem will not be happening, but that the development team hasn't even been passed any solutions/ideas.
Where the loot has gone?
Just look at these for yourself:
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/...pse6bad54e.jpg
531 Obstacles removed, 531 - 40 = 491. 491 / 3 = 163 days
1,094,585,679 / 163 days = 6.7 Million Golds per day
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/...ps29679b2d.jpg
(523 - 40) / 3 = 161 days
866,074,501 / 161 = 5.4 Million Golds per day
http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f731985.png
(472 - 40) / 3 = 144 days
642,581,707 = 4.4 Million Golds per day
The first 2 we encountered in our Clan war, and not surprisingly, flashy Lv10 (3 mil) walls on their bases.
The third one actually raided me. As far as I know, this guy very much online 24/7 and boost all 4 of his barrack frequently. In the replay, well, seems like the BOTs have evolved. Troops spawn in multiples of 3. like 3 fingers on the screen. But still on the edge of the map disregard the distance away from the actual structures.
The other unusual thing about these "Potential BOTs" where the usual number of donates and received as there is a auto-request / auto-donate function on the program itself.
It is known that SC is really reluctant to add loot/make loot easier to grind, whether it be by adding new collectors/collector levels or increasing production pace. Then why make the economy worse by allowing people to drop their "wasted" elixir into walls ?
As you said this feature is nice if loot is improved on the other side, which isn't something SC likes to do. To me this looks like something not well planned, a mistake.
I usually never complain...but this last week loot has been horrible...its impossible to find any elixir. i been from 2500-2950. and those few that i find requires a full arsenal of spells and heroes to get.
The logic you use to gauge days played is not sound.
I have removed 1462 obstacles since the profile update...I have been playing a lot longer than 474 days...Started Sept 2012 I think...or thereabouts
I dont disagree that BOTs are a big issue if indeed they are as prevalent as rumours suggest, but the method you suggest as how to track the activity is not fair / accurate in my opinion
Really?elixir was useless? Is that why we have nearly 10,000 posts about the loot problem since the last update allowed it to be dumped into walls?
Elixir was NEVER useless. It's used for troops. You can't build strong attacks without it. If you had a 'problem' with full storages of lix, then you simply did not know how to manage your lix.
I could always stay within the range of 5-6mill lix. If it started accumulating toward max, then I'd build a drag or pekka attack and have some fun until my lix dropped back down a bit. I always had plenty of lix to donate top troops for wars and farm time to my clan.
Now, it's gone. I barely break even on lix after a full day's raiding. I haven't been able to build a dragon or PEKKA attack since the last update. I have been barching non stop, until the past few days i starting looning.
it's getting boring.
The lix for walls update IS a problem. It has completely destroyed the economy and the balance in the game. We can no longer play the game the way that it is MEANT to be played (using strong troops and all out attacks). We are forced to use troops that we got when we were at level 1, because we can no longer afford to build the troops that we worked so hard to obtain.
Sad. Simply sad.
15% of up to 2 mill loot system change, SC... And reverse the lix on walls. The game is almost unplayable now.
Oh and by the way everybody is focusing on bots to be the main reason of the devaluation of the COC economy. I think it's another mistake, it's one of the reasons, not the main one.
The COC economy looks like the fishing economy, ressources don't have time to pile up, demand overwhelm supply. 72k of gold are produced each day, when people are claiming to grind 8M a day. You need more than 100 gamers to feed one. Or 50 for 4M, which is more common (at least in the past).
Then you can add the shielding problem (farmers/trophy pushers or bots) which hide loot, people are more and more skilled when it comes to farming thanks to tutorials, boosts are way cheaper than what it used to be last year, there are more and more gamers each day and inactive bases are pushed back, upgrades are more and more expensive...
Lot of things have changed, making loot more and more complicated... while supply has been the same and only increases with new players.
Like fishes we used to catch since milleniums. Human techniques are incredibly more efficient than before and demand keeps on growing, but fishes still breeds at the same pace...
Wail till you see a Chinese Clan with full set of Lv10 walls on their TH9, 3000+ donates... since last league reset (4 days?), then that may change your mind.
Or maybe Supercell pull out something like Raid limited by their region (Chinese players can only raid other Chinese players) and see how the economy improved, then we can say for sure.
Disagree. He's very correct, and the fact that you responded means it irked you on some level because it's the truth.
I learned a long time ago that actions speak louder than words and that saying has never been proven wrong.
The actions of Supercell (updates) post buyout, have repeatedly had a negative effect on the economy of the game AND the majority of the player base.....sans clan wars. And that's glossing over simple bugs that have gone unfixed. And I won't even get into the lie of "extensive testing" that supposedly gets done.
And then there are the problem of very biased moderators here. Ones that have been treated very well by Supercell. Objective moderators should be here. Maybe the answer to that would be a forum made and run by players with mods who don't have any connection with supercell.
You can't blame people for that. You yourself have straight out said things were going to happen that never did.
I've lurked here and never posted for a reason. A very good one. But the arrogance of this post was enough.
If you're going to keep the company line and don't say anything that's fine I guess. But stop lying to the player base.
No, it will solve the lix, and the nexting for lix problem that didnt excist before this update.
That you and other maxed players that still farm have no problem with it comes as no supprise, but I think you are a bit egoistic about it. That other thing you talk about just gets posts deleted, but lets hope they dont just dig their heads in the sand and pretend it doesnt excist.
Did you ever have math at school? ;)
TH10 has 7 collectors.
Each collector produces a max of 3.000 gold / hour.
A collector works 24 hours a day.
7*3000*24=504000 gold a day. For a 8M grind, you need not 100, but 16 players. (But this is a TH10, not the average village you find)
The question is, is that a reasonable ratio? I used to play a game 'which name I will not mention' and the game was a bit similar. You have a way of gaining resources (farming) but raiding is (way more) efficient (but also costs more time). The thing is, the ratio's changed during a period of time. In the start of the game a ratio of 10:1 was ok, later on it would became 20:1 or more. But here is the thing: Inactive players stayed raidable.
So maybe there is your awnser. 10.000.000 inactive bases on 1.000.000 players is maybe 'just' efficient. 10.000.000 on 2.000.000 players and there is a 'loot problem.'
I'm glad to see a post from SC but sadly off topic. I've never said that you don't care but it does seem that you don't monitor the forums because of the lack of interaction from you on the forums.
Bottom line is the game is broken. All of my friends have recently bailed and I quit this week after finally reaching TH9. Loot is just not out there for my upgrades for many reasons but the two biggest reasons as it seems to me are bots and elixer for walls. I can next for days now and not find elixer.
I don't think bots and poor loot are directly connected.
I saw a REALLY POOR loot only after the last upgrade... elixir vanished in walls... before the update there were bots too, but situation was way better...
true that.
Anyone heard of a small game called Runescape?
Need I say more...
( Yes, I know there are probably plenty more better examples, but Runescape was a game I spent hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ours on, and watched it fall slowly, until one day, there were only bots left ).
I regret going to TH9 now... the "Next" search cost is higher and my gold is draining even FASTER now! Not to mention the looting is the worst it's ever been now that people are pumping elixir into walls.
You guys have been monitoring the loot since last year and at one point mentioned providing the community with some statistics of that loot. Since the loot system changed at the end of last year and the games platforms have expanded COC has gotten less and less fun since. Here we are months after this update and your team has not committed to a solution for fixing the loot. After the last hero update we had to wait two months for the hero healing time reduction to come (which was a fair compromise after the substantial nerf). You claim that you carefully consider and test updates before they are implemented but that seems hard to believe. Bring back the loot and bring back the fun!
Thanks for the response, Steve.
I think it's time for this thread to calm down. Everyone knows there is an issue, and SC has now come forward multiple times acknowledging the issues and are working for a resolution. I'm fine with this. Yeah, the game kinda sucks right now but knowing that ideas are being pushed around and hopefully with in the next update or two this will be resolved. I know every ones wants their voice heard but this thread has served it's purpose. SC has finally written us back, letting us know they hear our cries and are working on it.
That said... NEXT!
From raiding much everyday over a year I just lost it. Wars is fun but consider taking my almost maxed TH9 to 10 feels not fun with the current loot situation. The only thing that can tempt me to take up farming again is some sort of radical change to the loot system, and I guess that will never happen. Instead of endless nexting I now play another game on another platform.
Now we start having discussion ...Thanks Steve for stepping up and engaging in the dialog.
In my opinion a taskforce has to be considered that keeps a balance in mind between economic interrests of SC and still make the game playable for ALL Th Levels.
Tons of ideas and considerable chnages in the game have been done in the past loot threads ...so start simulating implementations of them to see effects in the long run .
"Let's wait and see what changes, if any, can be made in the next couple updates"
I use to look forward to every update, now I just dread them. How many updates is it going to take to fix the game?
Steve, the lix for walls has exposed how horrible the loot system has been. Imo, since last December's update.
But now it's just ridiculous. The game is almost unplayable. We are, what - 5,6,7 WEEKS after the lix for walls update ruined this game. Cmon, Steve (and SC).
I am a software programmer, and if we implement some code that does not work as intended, despite extensive testing, we have a BACKOUT plan.
Where is your BACKOUT plan? And why in God's name was this lix for walls update not backed out???
back it out, then figure out to fix the economy, and THEN try to implement it again.
This is systems engineering 101.
This is why I have no faith that this game will be fixed in time to save it (at least for me). I won't be hanging around for a few more updates to see "what changes, IF ANY" come...sigh
I quit earlier this week and will uninstall in a week or so and stop monitoring the forums. Maybe my inactive base will help the economy!
Just wondering... what specific actions are you referring to? Just so you are aware, literally nothing has changed about the development process, management, or decision making power of our game teams since that buyout, or anything else in the company. I would know. I work here.
Here are just a couple of the "post buyout" actions, besides Clan Wars, from Supercell:
Live Replays
Replay improvements (Pause, Troops expended, etc.)
Saved War Bases
New War Stats
Hero Abilities
Gem Boxes & More Gems from obstacles
Reddit Redesign
Forum Redesign
None of these actions reflect any desire to do anything except for make gameplay more fun and interesting, or improve the community resources and experience. I'm leaving A LOT of changes out. This isn't to talk about the economy or loot in any way, just giving some examples of what our actions tend to say about Supercell.
Clearly as a SC employee I am biased... but as a long-time gamer, Clash player, Community Manager, and member of the game industry, it's refreshing to work development teams that truly, genuinely care about what players are saying, and constantly read feedback themselves, and discuss hot topics and player pain points extensively and exhaustively.
I have no doubt that if you spent a half hour sitting with the team that you would agree, but feel free to call me, and Supercell liars, if that helps make your argument stronger.
These are Supercell's official forums. Current moderators do an amazing job, are honest, open and sometimes quite harsh with us as CMs and the development team. They are definitely objective when it comes to internal discussions.
Feel free to create a player run forum. There are several already. Reddit is a great place and we have nothing to do with the moderation or content there. However, these are SC forums. Mods are volunteers and OF COURSE we treat them well. They dedicate their free time to making this forum a better place.
Apologies if my post offended you. It clearly touched a button that would cause you to come here just to accuse me of being arrogant and a liar. You're fully entitled to your opinion, but I don't think such heft accusations are necessarily a helpful way to affect any change at all, let alone a positive one. It's unfortunate that you have the wrong impression of me and of Supercell, but like you said "actions speak louder than words" and we will certainly continue to develop and improve this game in all aspects... economy, gameplay, etc. etc. etc. etc.
This thread has gotten slightly derailed, so let me revise SC's official response to your Loot Concerns:
We are aware of, and have been collecting feedback about, the struggles players are having with the economy in Clash. We are monitoring this and the suggestions threads on a day-to-day basis.
We agree that changes need to be made, are are discussing all potential options to create a better balance in the economy and other aspects of the game. However, nothing has been DECIDED yet, and therefore I cannot currently provide you any more information about what actions will, or will not be, taken from among player suggestions.
The only option we have ruled out thus far is adding additional collectors, as that means additional non-defense buildings, making it easier to hit a higher % of damage.
That's all for now. Appreciate your patience and stay tuned.
-Steve
I am not sure what you mean by this, are you saying you guys are still not sure there is any loot/elixir problem at all? or are you saying even though there is a problem we might not be fixing it?Quote:

Thank you for the response Steve, this is definitely a step in the right direction and will be appreciated by many of us. Working in a development environment myself, I know changes take time. Hopefully this item is at or near the top from a prioritization standpoint.
Just my 2 cents... The majority of my clan has shown concern in the lack of loot. This has also affected clan war participation. Its the same story as with most others in prior posts. One person, in the clan, pointed out the fact of the troop nerfing. This seemed to be handled in a more timely matter than what is currently happening. I remember my aggravation with upgrading my witches, just to have a noose put on them soon after. The hogrider had the same demise. I agree to what was done to balance the game, but at the same time, it was in a timely matter. I've devoted close to two years to this game, and while not as passionate as some, I can see where the frustration comes. This has been building in the past few weeks and is putting a strain on my clan.
Steve,
Can I suggest you taking that response and creating another sticky for the time being?? Might help cut down on a lot of the threads in here and in the General Forum, as well.
Hmm. No specific mention of an ongoing loot problem with a time frame involving, say, either since December 2013 or last major update. You really have a way with words, i give you that.
...no TH11?
Now this is good news! I have been waiting for SC to actually clarify their stance and either confirm or deny that changes need to be made. I am happy to hear that SC agrees that changes need to be made and they they are working on a solution.
My hope is restored in the game :D
I disagree with the word "derailed" as these 2 last posts (1000 pages at least) just show tons of different scenarios from 1 cause. The last Elix upgrade. Everybody is entiteld to describe the major changes in his/her personal gameplay. Even as SC has unlikely democratic structures ....i implement gamers/user/players/ customers as part of the SC universe ..... SC has to come to the very simple conclusion that like in an epidemic outbreak there has been a starting point. Monitoring the outburst of customers and of course future customers won´t bring you anywhere. Do your homework and check what´s going on on your servers ...simple math. It´s a little bit like disabling your spam filter ..... and then monitoring all the cialis and viagra advertisements coming in ....what would be your response ? ... i guess you won´t wait it out ...........
My walls used to be kind of a status symbol, now that common ordinary everyday run of the mill Riff-Raff can afford them,I think they make the joint look trashy.Really trashed the value of my Real Estate.
I just think SC is more interested in new customers joining COC. There seems to be no loyalty to their longterm customer base. The game is just getting worse with every "update" for TH10s. The tide turned from Decembers update. It just seems that with every update SC is turning the screw to slow down progression. Loot is terrible. Clan war's loot is terrible. What can I say? are they trying to get rid of us??
There is no elixir anymore!!! Almost maxed TH10 here and for the first time in over 2 years I am skipping lucrative gold targets because they have no elixir. Before the last update I would hit those 300k or more gold targets and take the hit of elixir loss because I knew I could make it up in another raid. Now I find myself skipping 300k plus gold only targets because if I lose the elixir it will take me forever to make it back up. I have given up on Gowiwi and gone back to Giant healer as this lets me still raid storages at a bit of a profit. I have raided from Gold 1 to Master 1 since the update and there is no elixir!! My entire raiding strategy is now based around how much elixir is available, the one resource I never used to look at ever!
It's a joke really, how you can say the elixir for walls update wasn't a mistake is beyond me. I only have 2 elixir upgrades left to be completely maxxed on elixir upgrades but after saving up the 8 million to upgrade lightning spell 30k at a time I don't know if I have the motivation to finish barbs and goblins There is no joy left in scraping out a 30k win on elixir 300 times.
ps. Anyone who wants to tell me to barch can shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I barched my way to mid Th8 and I am completely bored and sick of it. Not interested in barch so save your "advice" for someone who cares.
cant believe this :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJC3w...ature=youtu.be
Have you tried barching its great and cheap you should try it ♥♥♥♥!
I do barchob and chuck gobs in the mix they get you to storages, much more strategic then spamming balloons accross a base, or dropping giants at an air defense and then using ur healer how boring is that no skill needed there, and i dont attack just abandoned bases either so try barchob!
seriously will you get it if I shout? NOT INTERESTED! A modified barch is still a barch army. I have no interest in squeezing by at 50% all the time in Master 1. If you are taking on maxed bases in Masters with lvl 40 heroes with barchob I invite you to post the replays because I would like the opportunity to practice the skills you have. There's plenty of loot in masters but you aren't getting it with barch. You might get one MAYBE two storages but that's about it and you will probably take a 30 trophy hit to do it.
And yes I am planning on staying in Masters, at least there is some loot here even if it's difficult to get to. I didn't appreciate spending 300k on next down in Gold when I tried that at a certain mods suggestion.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned anything about loot bonus. Wouldnt increasing the loot bonus somehow fix the "not finding loot" problem? It may not make the biggest difference but I am sure it will help with some of the complaints I have read on these forums. It would also give a better incentive for those th7-9's lingering in 1200 trophies to increase their trophies to say 1700, no? Just a thought....:p
Did i mention if you try that in masters you will get destroyed ♥♥♥♥, nearly maxed th10 here barchobbing in G1-C3 4 archer towers to max and cannons then my defense is maxed, then spend the rest of my life on heros an walls, just trying to help a fellow clasher, some weaker th9's u can get 270k from 3 storages, i havnt maxed my archers tho because thats a rip off! I will once troop upgrades are done.
I am VERY worried now about the state of this game. If SC is telling us that "nothing has been decided", that tells me that we are STUCK with the game EXACTLY how it is - which is almost UNPLAYABLE.
If nothing has been decided, it could be months before any fix is developed, and then it has to go through Apple, blah blah... SC will keep pouring the kool-aid, and everybody will continue to drink it. After so many months go by, people will just get used to gameplay being so bad and stop complaining.
THIS is what SC wants. They have no plans of fixing anything. They are simply buying time, waiting for the masses to 'get used to it'.
Not cool. I simply cannot wait months longer for this HORRIBLE loot system to get fixed. It's been 6-7 weeks of SC ruining this game. And over 10 months since the start of the downfall in the gameplay and economy. Enough ♥♥ already. Stop being so secretive. Just tell us you are fixing it, and what you're doing. Or tell us that nothing will change, so we can quit now.
Tyvm.
I guess all the compaining threads about no loot is being smashed into this thread in too many to read? Thats nice. Sweep it under the rug.
Heres what ppl will do....1. either come here looking for answers and finding it not be happy about it.
2 Buy Gems and get bored because its TOO easy now.
3 Get bored because they don't want to spend real money on an ongoing game and find another ting to take their interest for the day.
Not a very wise business decision in my opinion.
Internet joys come and go. not very many have lasted the test of time. Look at Q2 Death match for instance. Only a handful play now when before it was SLAMMED with people.
Its just not fun anymore supercell
Is this video proof that their is loot in this game, or that players are quitting due to how bad things are?
http://youtu.be/GuL72VA2rLM
The loot bonus. Dont just give it to a raider give it to the winner. Attacker or defender. If they win a defense, store it in their clan castle.
Come on SC!!!! Do something!!! Fix it!!!! Don't just take the money from us!!!!! xxxx
you honestly expect a company that profits from the impatience of its customers to implement a fix?
Lol
10lols
No, my post was in response to someone who asked how it was good for players. I am a player who liked it. By the way, the only thing I have left to max on TH9 are lava walls, so "down the road" for me is TH10 which is and always has been hard to farm in. I do think more gold needs to be added to the game, with increased collectors to make up for the increased available gold upgrades. The only bases that have less elixer to loot from now are bases like mine that are done with all elixer upgrades other than walls. All other bases still need to save up elixer in storage for upgrades.
spending 200k nexting bases because i only find bases with 40k each loot in crystal 1-3. im a th9 too. how pathetic.
I agree more can be done than just a collector level upgrade, but I don't agree a collector level upgrade would do nothing for you other than your increased collector production. It would put a lot more gold into the system. The million other bases out there would have more gold too, not just you. They need to do something to make up for the increased defense upgrades that have taken gold out of the system.
Other options like adding to the single player missions, increasing war loot bonus (for winners and losers), putting the next gold into the base that was nexted, etc. I think the one that makes the most sense is the collector upgrade so that is why I suggest that one as an obvious addition now while considering others. It just makes sense that defense upgrades based on certain collectors should occasionally come along with upgraded collectors as well.
You apparently never reached the point where every elixer upgrade was done and there was nothing left to spend elixer on, which resulted in full storage all the time. I constantly raided bases and took lots of their elixer and couldn't even store it. It just went away. I am now putting that elixer into walls, which does take it out of the system, but no worse than when I raided it and couldn't store it.
Steve the system does need some more gold to make up for the upgraded gold defenses. It could be upgraded collectors, increased war bonuses, deposit nexting cost into the nexted base, etc. However, I hope you guys also understand people who are upset are much more likely to post on here than people who are happy. There are a lot of people very happy with the ability to use elixer now that before was just wasted. There are also a lot of people that understand there could be too much loot and it is in your interest to avoid that. So, while most people do probably want more loot, the posts in this thread are not necessarily representative of the majority of players.
I think from all of Steve's responses it shows that our concerns about loot (time nexting and loot available) have finally been realized and they are really looking into a solution. The speed at which they are moving might not be to everyone's liking but they are showing that they have started the process of looking for a solution. We should all help by providing ideas for potential solutions.
I think this is the very first time i will ever complain to SC about the loot. I have never complained before, as i considered myself a great farmer. I used to play 24/7, raid 150+ times per season, you get the gist of it.
Now, from a th9 perspective, i barely find any loot to keep more than 2 builders busy. And yes, i have tried various farming methods (loonion, bam, barch, giant gob, etc.) and at various trophy levels (Silver 3 to Crystal 1). But loot is so bad that I went from my 150+ raids per season streak to about 20 times per season.
There is simply no motivation. I find myself better off not playing and letting my collectors make loot for me.
This is sad :( SC is lucky that im in an elite warring clan or else i probably would have deleted the game already
I'm in the same boat as you. I've fluctuated ~1000 trophies to find loot and have not had much luck. I used to be able to raid 3-5 million gold and elixir EVERY day. So far today I've done about 500k, and that's me looting nonstop with barracks gemmed. At this rate, it'll take me about 10 days to upgrade a wizard tower (assuming I don't lose ANY loot in attacks)... which is just frustrating.
Mates, you all are whining about the loot.
I'm a TH10 and allmost everything is upgraded, still got my 5th builder active!
There isn't really a problem, only you guys are whining about it so much because you got no patient.
Even though there is no immediate solution to the drought (specially TH10), I for one appreciate the new injected communication you have provided.
That said a solution sooner then later would probably be in the games best interest at this point.
Another ♥♥♥♥ day on my TH10 account while my th09 saw decent returns.
Your posts are absolutely ridiculous. Yes elixir was worthless. As in it had no value. That doesn't mean it was useless. It was in far too great supply to give it any real value. People who don't bother defending elixir storages and raid for resources with full storages of elixir don't value elixir. Using a two main resource system if one resource is only useful for 1/10 of a town hall level then it's almost valueless. I had an excess of elixir from th5 up. It doesn't mean I want to struggle to find any all ... but I certainly want to be able to use it for an entire town hall level. Even the common suggestion to move it to th9 before you can upgrade walls with elixir is a terrible idea. I wouldn't want to spend that long with so much elixir it's flowing onto the ground and being wasted. Th8 is an awful long time to have almost useless elixir. Th7 is nothing to sneeze at either.
My sugestions:
1a. Remove the elixir-for-walls option
It made the economy much worse. Unless there are other long term reasons to keep this option based on a larger strategy, I would say it didn't work as expected and had terrible side effects.
I'm just a simpleton, so I'll post how a simpleton sees this.
Loot not ideal ----> elix-for-walls update -----> Loot got much worse
The simpleton solution: Reverse the change and loot will, at least, get back to what it was pre update.
As someone that, at this time, has completed all elixir upgrades and can benefit a lot from using elixir to upgrade walls, I'm certainly not advocating this for 'personal' reasons related to my immediate needs.
1b. Only allow stored elixir above the loot-cap to be used for walls.
As an alternative to completely removing the option, but trying to minimize it's side effects.
2. Incentive for breaking shield
Some incentive for breaking shield, preferably proportional to the shield time left, could help make active bases available for raiding more often.
As it stands, the shield system is pro cyclic, and in a recessed economy players tend to protect themselves more by remaning under shield for more time just farming their collectors. This only increases any recession tendencies.
LOL! It had no value? Elixir allows you to build troops so you can farm and build spells. If it had no value, try draining it to zero and see how well you do farming. Last time I checked, more than 70% of all the lab upgrades require elixir. Your point is completely baseless, and worthless.
Instead of fighting with our troops, we're now starting to fight amongst ourselves, the "game" is a self consuming monster, how much fun is this now?
Except it's not because I play this game ...
Have you never had overflowing elixir storages? I had it from th5 and up. I used to love when I could research another troop in the lab because even at lower town hall levels I would fill storages long before my research was finished. Unlike most people when my elixir storage was full I stopped raiding to not waste elixir. Then I'd get raided ... break sheild ... loot it back and wait. I could have kept raiding and wasted all that elixir but it felt ... wrong somehow. It certainly did have next to no value. *reading comprehension required now* ... I didn't say it was useless ... I said it had little to no value. Look at expanded polystyrene aka Styrofoam. It's very useful but of very little value. Easily recycled but never recycled during to it's relative low value. Low value does not mean useless. Now do you get my point? You're assuming value and usefulness are interrelated and that isn't the case in real life or in games which have usable resources.
My 2 pence
If you raided well and a lot before the update elixir after 1/4 into the TH would just be wasting away, because you had storage's maxed. I even left my elixir storages outside full as a TH8. It got me defense wins. I raid a lot so making dragoon armies whilst on was never an option. Only made whilst going off game.
So in my opinion elixir was never in demand a lot like gold. Gold was the blood to upgrade defenses and walls.
A lot of raider would normally only look at gold available and never paid attention to elixir.
I must be lucky, I find tons elixir to put into my walls, lab and defenses. But let's not beat around the bush most of elixir ( which I do not use for troops and spells) goes into walls. So far put 166 mill elixir into my walls, in comparison in same time put 204 mill gold into them.
So I agree most people did not care about elixir like they do now after update. It now has a very important role to play.
How many players had EE in signature before the update? Not many, but loads had GG and HH (even you D3X have not got EE listed in your signature)
Exactly! This guy/gal gets it. I never looked at elixir in bases I was raiding. A high amount of elixir won in a raid was like a participation ribbon. It just added up as I raided for gold. I for one LOVE now looking at both numbers and sneaking a peek at dark elixir while I'm raiding. But we definitely need more of all three (dark elixir perspective coming from a th8 btw I hear dark elixir is quite balanced at higher game play)
