In other words, you're moaning about SC listening to customer feedback. Doesn't make you any better than any other complainer.

My ratio between gold and elixir farmed has not changed before or after update. Before update my GG was 592 Mill gold, 26 mill then elixir. Now my GG is 653 Mill and only 23 mill ahead of elixer. I close the gap by 3 Mill.
I use giant healer army before and still do now. I never boosted barracks so far in game. I always had to make sure i got elixir as well as gold. Only a few times on TH8 when I had elixir maxed and did not worry about getting elixir.
You always will farm gold profit as twice the elixir profit unless you use a total DE army to farm with.
Nice looking village you have. Congrats
Long time lurker on these boards and surprised no one has observed this fact.
If you look at your Gold Grab and Elixir Escapee achievements you will notice ( if it's a anything like mine or my clan's achievements) that GG is always higher. Why is this?
More people put value on gold beforehand. It's gameplay value lasted longer on each town hall level due to gold sinks. This causes a subconscious behavior to take place. Gold mines are ( in general ) prioritized by players for upgrades and elixir collectors do not receive as much attention when upgrade times are planned.
As such, when hunting for loot you come across a majority of bases with gold mines at higher levels than their elixir collectors. The good news? Recently when searching for raids I've seen many bases with level ten and eleven gold mines which are currently upgrading their level eight and nine elixir collectors. This shows a shift in resource value towards balancing the perceived value of elixir in relation to gold. This is why the walls for elixir update was in fact a great loot balancing move by supercell, regardless of naysayers. Personally I haven't upgraded one wall with elixir as of yet. At this point elixir is too valuable at th8 initial stages. It's due to town hall progression that this change balances resource valuation within the game's system.
In the past ( even with a slightly smaller elixir raiding total ) storages would become plump and purple at the end of a town hall progression. Army composition and elixir upgrades were now finished. Troop upgrades were expensive but were spaced out by days of waiting leaving time to fill storages again with little cost on elixir from troops. This allowed power armies, weird unique army composition and frequent clan wars to be an easy luxury to afford. Even with this many people still had full elixir. This is what caused people to not value elixir as much as gold and subsequently not upgrade elixir collectors. Gold was a resource always in demand but elixir became swamped by supply and little end town hall demand. Collectors and mines are ( by far ) the most influential aspect of resource availability within the game. Due to a low valuation, elixir influx has been suffering unnoticed to this point within the game structure.
Now with elixir valuation at a high level the supply shortcomings are becoming increasingly apparent. This has caused a reactionary response seen recently where elixir collectors have been upgrading. Transition is not always an easy path and this is the time elixir will be scarcer than previously.
While this behavior of not upgrading collectors is not a hard fast rule ( people like myself who max them all equally ) the general gaming population has under valued them for the most part which causes it's scarcity today.
What are solutions? Achievements rewarding gems for levels of collectors and mines would be a start. The other is to wait for supply to catch up to new demand ( which will eventually happen ). People are now making conscious efforts to upgrade collectors as well to be more in line with their residual gold production which will bring more resource balance in time.
TLDR - you have ADHD or I poorly express myself take your pick of the two ;)
Come on...
Inactives are people abandoning their base at least temporarily...
If you think the presence of inactives points to a healthy game economy you couldn't be more wrong.
And, people that are complaining about loot are not complaining about GOLD! We are complaining about the enormous void of elixir poor bases which can and will affect your farming strategies and ability to play the game. Real armies cost a ton of elixir and need spells to raid those storages... Bases must have large elixir stores to even break even.
I am still waiting for an explanation from SC on how exactly they want us to raid eachother... Inactives are admittedly pushed back further into the queue right? Loot % means they want you to hit storages from the previous update correct? Yet, these changes take elixir out of the game from active peoples storages like never seen before! If advanced bases do not have 200-300k elixir in them they are not raidable by large armies unless you want to run out of elixir.
Please revert the elixir for walls completely, OR make only level 10 and 11 walls purchasable with elixir... That way elixir storages stay filled for the most part.
I usually raid 6 million gold per day and raid about 300 times per season. I am no baby. There IS a loot problem caused by the lix shortage. I HAVE to raid inactives now because active players have no lix...if I raid them I will run out. The inactives are being farmed out.
There IS a problem.....and it isn't getting better.
My EE is probably lower because I always attack gold mines on collector raids first, and elixir second.
Here's to hoping the bandaid gem boost is step 1 towards one or even two additional new levels to our pumps and mines
