To me, that level is no longer fun, and I won't play again until I feel it is (if ever). As I've said earlier, one mil (gold) an hour used to be the norm at TH 9, now you'd be doing ok to get that if you boost. Unfortunately (IMO), players have largely went along with the loot decrease until recently, and I don't see many people here willing to ask for a return to those kind of loot levels... probably because it's so far out of reach that they think SC would scoff at the thought of it.
Sure, I'm a veteran player who probably has his expectations set a bit high, but that's what happens when you go through the process of having one of the best games I've ever played have the fun sucked out of it by declining loot. I get that the later stages should be harder, but the challenge should be based on raiding skills not on patience. I'm willing to raid players who have loot and I'm capable of getting it, but nexting over and over until you find an inactive or the occasional juicy active base just isn't fun. SC can cite any statistic they want about loot "not changing" (although there's no way they are giving the statistics that we are actually asking about), but I don't believe the player experiences lately match that narrative. There are issues with loot at higher levels, and they should do something to correct for it. However, with this issue getting worse over time instead of better, I've quit holding my breath and just accepted the fact that SC's idea of balanced loot is incompatible with mine. Hopefully the outrage in these loot threads is enough to sway SC, though, and I'll come back to the game as soon as SC makes a meaningful move towards fixing the problem.
And with that, I guess I'll shut up about it until there's anything new to comment about.
