I'm with you Xizeta. I agree completely with your point of view.
To those outspoken individuals who don't even have a clue what your initial post meant (specifically showing your defense logs), he's showing how TH9 guys raided for over 200K combined loot, not epic loot by any means (like you guys seem to expect every time or your world gets turned upside down) but not the worst loot grab in the world either. You gotta GRIND! 200K+ loot raids add up. Shoot, when it's slow for me, I raid for 50-100K combined using a 15k or less barch army. I'll do this a lot as is necessary. Sure I love the 300, 400, 500K combined raids, but this game isn't all about that. So many players just want the easy way.
I was off the last 2 days and did a fair amount of raiding each day throughout the entire days (along with other errands and things I needed to do). I was able to start all 3 of my Teslas to level 4 (6,000,000 gold raided to start those), plus I upgraded 2 of my bombs (2,000,000 to do those, 1 mil each) and I have an additional 2.7 mil additional that I raided after doing all the aforementioned upgrades. That's over 10 million gold. I'm sitting on near maxed elix storages, almost 6 mil.
I'm TH8 and am getting so much loot. I almost feel sorry for TH9 and 10 guys, aside from the fact that the game is supposed to be hard at the top.
I understand the loot penalty, it's necessary. I understand that TH9 and especially TH10 armies are VERY EXPENSIVE if you're not just simply barching or using another inexpensive composition which I understand can get boring. I too like to use expensive armies as well, although I've been raking all this loot in with just barch so I've enjoyed barching over and over BECAUSE I've been getting loot at a rate I enjoy.. it's helped prevent non-stop barching from getting boring for me.
Life at the higher TH levels has its pros and its cons. In the early stages of the game, everything is cheap and fast to upgrade and everyone falls in love with that pace. Unfortunately for the less patient and the simply greedy, as the game progresses, as you pros know all so well, everything gets more expensive and time consuming to progress. That's how it's supposed to be, how Supercell intends for it to be.. and to guys like Xizeta and I, we respect that and are pleased with it being that way... Chalk it up to us being cool like that.
Hey don't trip though... beat this post up, cause after all, I'm just a TH8, you guys are TH9s and 10s RULERS OF THE WORLD, ALL KNOWING, tell me I'm wrong, complain more and post negative reviews about the game and focus your life at this point to petitioning and trying to get the world to stop liking and playing CoC. I'm amazed you guys get so bent out of shape, seriously, that's wild. Good luck with everything though, I do hope something improves for you so you can once again enjoy the game more.
Hi! I am going to try my best to stay positive because this is/was a really fun game and I love(d) it. TH9 now, started playing in late January 2014, I am in a small war clan, we are all friends even though we have never met and that really means something to me. The 2008 financial crash affected people in all countries and wow, I was desperate for an escape from that. Lots of us were. And now we are friends.
I love the details of this game, and I love the pride in ownership that comes with getting a super mint new troop that you earned with your hard work. I love clan wars, and I love the SC community. It is a positive in a negative world. You have done an awesome job creating a world for us to escape to, for a couple hours at a time.
But things have gone off the rails lately. Next next next, most bases are actives who keep their reserves down, less than 100K available. I barch, but even if I used a full army, there is nothing. I went down to Bronze and back. Nothing. On the flip side I hang in crystal and if I am not online psychotically guarding my loot (even with an exposed TH!) then there will be a (righteously) angry TH10 who will kill me for 700K of my hard earned loot.
I guess I could gem for those resources but I will not. Here is why:
I used to buy between $5-$20/week (USD) worth of gems. Some weeks it has been much more (like when I upgraded TH :)!) but I think this is a fair estimate. To me it was a reasonable expenditure for a fun hobby. Why not? Like buying a beer during a football game. But with the gems I bought mostly time and maybe DE, mostly time.
I refused to buy gems for regular resources because those could be earned by hard work, in two-hour farming sessions. And that was FUN! OMG, how many of us have posted brag replays of unicorn/whale bases that we bagged while farming? It used to be that you would hit one or maybe more during a 2 hour farming session.
I do not know what happened to the abandoned bases but you need to bring them back or create fake ones for us to find like easter eggs. Please please please.
It is unbearable for me to take two hours out of my life to feel like a loser next next next-ing active bases of people who are as desperate for resources as me. Remember, we are reeling in real life from a global financial crisis which was not our fault and now even our fake economy is leading us down the same path. WE ARE SICK OF FEELING LIKE SUCKERS AND LOSERS! I do not know why people spent money playing Candy Crush but I know their investors AND YOUR INVESTORS are going to want to know the difference between them and you.
The answer, YOU actually do something to foster community. You do! I met a genius kid in a random airport who saw me checking my collectors and he gave me tips on fixing my TH7 base.
What you are doing is GOOD! Please please please make our community strong again.
