For loot? You make more farming - even in these cruddy conditions. Not across 2 raids, sure...but we all know if your clan is warring, you are more involved than just on those 2 raids...donations, yada yada...
No not for the loot at all, or else i wouldn't spend 10-16k de every war. It's just fun putting your base to test and raiding with one goal in mind, 3 stars!
For the challenge?
Go raid in Masters 2+. You will get the same challenge

For the camaraderie?
For every clan that feels closer as a result of war, I could probably go and find 2 that feel it split their clan up!

I dont see the point. Win one war, or win 1000, what is the difference? There is a void, a significant gap in that aspect of the game. There should be CLAN rewards for the clan doing well in war. Not resources (or certainly not just resources) but something that people can ONLY get from being in the clan while they are riding high...eg.
If your clan wins 100 wars,
All members in the clan get:
Hero regen boost automatically applied
10% buff to defences
10% buff to troop attacking power
50% buff to resource production
10% buff to builder efficiency
And so on...
I am soooo in for this. Already suggested rewards for winning clanwars. Not just stats.
Or a hybrid of Boom Beach's gameplay where you expand your territory
Lots of ways to make war mean something but when it is based solely on loot bonus or clan bonding, then as i say, alternatives to war - ie not warring are actually better!!
