Invisible Shields for high loot bases = loot drought...?
I have a neglected account on an old iPad I haven't been using... It's one of those villages players love to find - collectors full of loot and no defense. And during the great loot drought of 2014 my "normal" account/game became very boring (I can't find loot) - so I thought I'd go play around with the neglected account - since it's a lower TH level, less loot penalty, do some raids from it.
The base has like ZERO defense - so if there's any loot it gets smacked IMMEDIATELY after logging off - like within a minute. I raided up some loot a few times today, and each time it got smacked within a minute of logging off. After 6 attacks in the last 24 hours though - it's been sitting with full collectors, full storages, no shield - and the attacks suddenly stopped 6 hours ago. Not a one. NONE.
The only thing I can figure is - there's something new on the back end that gives bases that are high loot cash cows an invisible shield - it takes them out of matchmaking. Even though I've attacked a couple of times since the last defense - and currently show NO shield, and I'm full of loot - NO ONE IS ATTACKING. This is despite the fact I couldn't go online for a minute, before, without being attacked.
Long time professional game developer here, Supercell, F2P + Mobile. If this is a play to get your DARPU up, it might not happen right away but sooner or later your DAU and ARPU are going to tank. (Translation - if you're trying to force people to pay for resources, you're killing the fun - and the game - and your players will lose interest and stop playing.) The central fun of Clash was that the Next button felt like a slot machine - looking for a high loot payoff. Now it feels like a slot machine you can't win. It's boring. It turns clash from a top app store game into a mediocre app store game. I hope you get a handle on it soon... So clash remains the same fun game it's always been and doesn't implode.
Inactive bases are not good loot!!!

People really need to stop thinking this loot issue is somewhat acceptable because of random inactive bases with full collectors... This game should be based on getting loot from raiding normal active bases in order to keep the supposed "strategy" element. Finding an inactive base on OCCASSION should be the norm.. Not hitting next repeatedly until you finally find a base worth raiding just to notice it's a stocked inactive!!! SC fix your game!! Other devs keep copying your idea and you seem to not care that your loyal players are leaving to play them because they aren't here to play a base building Sim where we collect resources slowly.. We are here to play a raiding strategy game where loot gives you more resources than pumps and mines...
