That was the golden hour. Now its back to ''normal''

The loot is too damn low!
In all seriousness, I had a amazing past 4 days (probably attributed to the 1 gem pump and mine boost). Now its back to "normal" barely bases over 300k combined. (TH10 searching between C2-M2)♥
This is a fundamental question for how the game's economy is going to work out. I'll explain but first a bit of background about me:
I am a TH10 with nearly all defenses maxed (one cannon at lvl 11, 4 archer towers at lvl 11, 3 archer towers at lvl 12, four air defenses at lvl 7. I have about about 50 walls at lvl 9, the rest are lvl 8 with a few stragglers I don't really use. My heroes are about to be lvl 14.
Offensively, I have maxed out all troops and army camps except: barbs (lvl6), gobs (lvl5), pekka (lvl3), freeze (lvl4), lightning (lvl5). I haven't bothered with the valk and the hound because i personally don't find them useful.
Having set the stage, I'm a fairly strong TH10 with heroes on the weaker side. I tend to farm with 64 arch, 8 wbs, 12 giants, 2 healers, 10 hogs, and 11 mins. It takes about 22 minutes to build and gives me decent latitude with the only drawback being the high de cost. Sometimes I will sub the hogs out for barbs and gobs to bring the cost down are just go straight BAM. I can use balloonian but it can take a while to build and usually needs a rage or two to work.
I consider a good farm raid to be 200g x 200elix and 400-800 de (depending on if I'm using the hogs). I will burn my whole army if needed and try not to use spells since they take a long time to build (unless it's a high loot base, then all bets are off). I generally don't bother with villages that have infernos because multi-tap infernos (though the single shots still wreak havoc) will wipe out a farming army pretty quickly (unless the base is terribly structured). Generally, I range from 1600 - 2400 cups. Admittedly I haven't touched master, but I figure the bases are just going to get stronger up there, making it harder to get it done with a farming army.
What I have found lately is that bases are on two very different ends of the spectrum: 1) ton of storage loot and a strong defense (infernos, high lvl bows, centered CC and heroes, generally tough to take down with a farming army) or 2) fairly raidable bases with little loot to take (120k or less of gold, variable elix and de). This leads to a lot of "nexting" to find a decent raid, hurting the economic gain of each raid.
If you think about the changes to the game, most have made it harder to farm: A) introducing multi-tap infernos B) making heroes less lurable C) lowering hero strength and hitpoints, and D) changing the loot system to focus more on storages. Defensive upgrades also make raiding tougher because farming armies are not built to take out max defenses (build times are too long and they are expensive, eliminating the economic incentive) and they don't generally introduce upgrades to typical farming units (latest barb and arch is an exception). Allowing walls to be upgraded with elix will add to this effect because tougher walls will be harder to break through to get to storages. At the same time, SC has been stripping out abandoned villages at what seems to be a faster pace, reducing options for raiders and taking loot out of the system.
As a result, I find myself using gems to boost spells (when I have two hours to raid) more since they are almost always necessary for a good loot raid or just sitting back and letting my collectors earn 500k gold, 500k elix, and 7.2k de a day. Occasionally, someone will use a gowipe(wi) army and take some elix off me (or lightning thief some de), but generally I can sit around for 14 days (time it takes for troop upgrades at this level) and just collect 7mm elix, getting me in striking distance of the next upgrade and letting me dump excess in my walls. "Nexting" to find a decent raid just isn't economically or time efficient compared to letting my collectors pick up the loot to upgrade.
I do think the game should get hard as you progress, but if the economic incentives to raid aren't there (spectacularly expensive army for loot, or "nexting" so much that you can't make decent gains) it's not a matter of the game being harder, it means that it isn't worth raiding. My point is that if the system gets dry enough so that more people respond like me, raiding will lose its appeal and the game will become stagnant. I believe this is starting to happen, and if you think of the way the game is structured, it makes perfect sense (barring some change). There are some bases out there with the ability to accumulate resources because they are difficult to raid (and will become even stronger) with farming armies and others that won't be able to accumulate because each time they get any decent stock, they get crushed. You could argue that it means that those who seek the few worthwhile bases will get the loot, but if they have to "next" 100 times to get there because good raiding opportunities are more rare, it kills the benefits of the raid. If you can't find good loot raids without using a max power army (which means you are quite possible losing de and elix to do the raid), you might as well just sit behind your walls and harvest. The only alternative will be having to gem barracks, heroes, and spells to be able to get some decent raids together (bringing in an altogether different cost and chasing players away, though if SC clears their villages that won't even help). Wars may even exacerbate this situation because they are a huge drain on elix and de just to put a little more gold in the system.
Feel free to try to bash me for "being a poor raider" or whatever, but I have a pretty strong base and I'm lvl117, so I must have been doing something right so far. Strategy adjustments are fine, but right now it looks like the only strategy adjustment is to use more expensive armies, which kills the incentive to raid anyway. COC is built on having a large, diverse playing field, having it become bi-polar may cause it to stagnate and really hurt the game, which would suck because I really enjoy playing it. I just don't have 20 minutes to find a decent raid, particularly when the leak kills the benefit of that raid.
Last few days have been good!
You failed to mention that if you get raided, you will lose 100k-300k each of gold & elix. So in reality, you lose resource by breaking your shield and raiding. All of my clan mates are on the same boat as you. There is no point to raid, as it actually cost & lose more than what you gain. So other than clan wars, what is the point of playing this game?
It doesn't sound like the latest server break fixed anything. If loot doesn't improve, most of us will probably quit. People might say, "yay, leave your collectors out please".... but that is the problem. SC will hide our bases, so it doesn't benefit you.
