What clash of clans players want more than anything is exciting new content. And most of all are new defenses, troops, and spells. As a response, many players have submitted very creative and endlessly extravagant ideas. However, what many of these ideas have in common is that each one gives both sides (attacking and defending) the upper hand in ways that would cause the game to become INSANE!!!. True, it might be incredibly FUN to have a thousand assassins running around killing all the enemy troops and a giant minion who calls down hurricanes filled with lighting, but this would all get very boring after awhile. Also an issue, is it wouldn't be fair to the lower level players, or the players with poor strategy, or the ones who don't buy gems to get to the advantages so many other players have. These are the issues we must deal with as a community. To use a metaphor, we must not build up, but instead expand.
Every player wants their stuff to look cool. Everyone wants to play up their victories and show their friends and enemies alike just how awesome they are. Everyone wants their own signature on their possessions, something personal to show how they think. To sum it up, everyone loves CUSTOMIZEABILITY!!! Which leads to the first idea...
Troop Skins: For an affordable 50 gems per skin, your troops can look awesome and unique, not just the same as everyone else's. With 5 different types of skins and even more subtypes, your troops have dozens of different combos for looks.
Types of skins: each skin is made by imbuing a troop type with a spell. Each skin can be used only on one troop type. For instance, a player buys a lightning skin and equips it to the barbarian unit. All other troop types remain unaffected by the skin. If a player wants skins for other troops, he must purchase them individually. Each type of skin comes in 3 different looks, with varying designs. You can upgrade the skins for 100 gems each to give your troops a modest ability to use in battle, (I am not sure whether the abilities are necessary, and think that maybe there should be no abilities, however, most players would want to buy the gems to upgrade). Unlocking a skin gives you choices of what you want your troops weapons to look like, (Ex: arrow trail design for archer, sword design for barbarian, bolt design for wizard), and what you want their armor to look like.
Lightning: The first skin. Lightning troops often have very little armor, as that just slows them down. Lightning troops are fast and cunning and can tear apart buildings quicker than a group of crazed goblins. The lightning skin unlocks lightweight armor and weapon designs.
Upgraded lightning troops get plus one movement speed per level. (Example: level 1 barbarian +1 speed. Level 6 barbarian +6 speed)
*Lightning weapons and armor glow blue*
Healing: the second skin. Healing troops wear hefty gleaming armor and wield large shiny weapons as they charge courageously into battle. Healing troops are sturdy and brave and can face a dragon head on without flinching. The healing skin unlocks heavy new armor and weapon designs. Upgraded healing troops get plus two hp per level. (Example: level 1 barbarian +2 hp. Level 6 barbarian +12 hp)
*Healing weapons and armor are bright and flash with movement*
Rage: The third skin. Rage troops have dark cruel looking armor and carry twisted, devastating weapons. Rage troops are powerful and evil and will not hesitate to destroy and burn. The rage skin unlocks wicked new armor and weapon designs. Upgraded rage troops get +1 damage per level. (Ex: level 1 barbarian +1 damage. Level 6 barbarian +6 damage)
*Rage weapons and armor glow red and are sometimes on fire*
Jump: The fourth skin. Jump troops embrace nature and will be seen dressed in vines leaves and bark armor, holding smaller simpler weapons. Jump troops despise the cities and villages, and are eager to rip them down. The jump skin unlocks woodsy new armor and weapon designs.
Upgraded jump troops get plus two damage when attacking walls. (Ex: level 1 barbarian +2 damage vs walls. Level 6 barbarian +12 damage vs walls.)
*Jump weapons and armor are Robin Hood/Peter Pan style*
Freeze: The fifth skin. Freeze troops quite obviously have glittering armor and weapons made of mostly ice. Freeze troops are cold and unfeeling and will stop enemy troops in their tracks. The freeze skin unlocks frosty new armor and weapon designs.
Upgraded freeze troops get plus two damage when attacking defenses per level. (Ex: level 1 barbarian +2 damage when attacking defenses. Level 6 barbarian +12 damage vs defenses)
Hero skins: having 40 levels, hero skins must be different from regular troop skins. Heroes would become overpowered with the regular skin upgrades. For heroes, all the above skin rules apply except the upgrade benefits. For heroes, skin benefits apply every 5 levels, as with their hero powers.
All about heroes!: first on the agenda...
Naming heroes: Any player can now name their heroes! By selecting their hero and clicking the name option, your hero's name will appear above their level and health bar. The first time is free, but renaming your hero will cost 20 gems. (All expletives will be censored)
Champions: a new type of hero! Low level players shouldn't have to feel bad that they can't unlock heroes, and they shouldn't have to rush their town hall and ruin their gameplay experience to get them either. Champions are all about making heroes available to the masses.
Since the dark elixir storage is not unlocked until town hall level 7, champions do not subsist on dark elixir, and are not giant like the normal heroes. They are however, still immortal and still upgradeable. Champions can be unlocked in the army section of the shop. Champions have 20 levels, and unlike heroes, do not have hero powers. Instead, they have champion powers, which are low key versions of hero powers, and unlock at level 5 and upgrade once at level 15 and a final time at level 20. Like heroes, they can attack other villages and defend your village. Champions are the size of normal troops inside a rage spell, and live on platforms. Also unlike heroes, when upgrading, their stats will increase at a linear (fixed) amount. (Ex: level 2-20 +15 health +5 damage). At maximum there can only be 2 heroes/champions, or one of each on the map at a time. (Select the character platform to switch out your heroes). Champions are one of the rare things that cost less to upgrade than they do to buy.
Champion types:

Type 2- The Archer Captain. (Archer type)
Unlocking at town hall level 6 for 1,000,000 gold, the archer captain will not disappoint. Wielding akimbo style extra minituarized Xbows, she gets em straight through the eye every time. Heroes: new heroes!
Type 1: The White Wizard
Coming straight from the ivory tower itself and unlocking at Town Hall level 10 for 90,000 dark elixir, The white wizard is the final hero. When he isn't sleeping, he is so busy writing spells, that he has no time to defend your village. Sporting an intricately designed black and white robe and solid red eyes, the white wizard is sure to strike fear in the hearts of whomever he encounters.

CUSTOMIZEABILITY meets HEROES in a BIG way!:
Introducing the AVATAR!!!
The avatar is possibly the greatest thing to hit clash of clans since the clan wars update. Unlocking at town hall level 7 for 1500 gems, the avatar is a fully customizeable hero. With customizing tools much like the wii 'Mii', you can control everything about your avatar from size to eye color, to nose width to skin color, and even gender. First, the player will purchase the avatar in the shop. Second, the player will choose what troop type they want their hero to be.(wizard, pekka, and dragon types cost 100, 200, and 300 gems extra. Third, select armor and weapons for your avatar. Fourth, select colors for all features of your avatar (weapons, armor, skin, eyes, borders and edges, etc.). Fifth, fine tune. Using sliders similar to the 'Mii' customizing sliders, select length width height".
Hero pets/add ons: while heroes are great, the only thing that would make them even better is having a pet! For 30,000 dark elixir apiece, you can buy baby monsters in the shop and equip them to a hero (limit 1 pet per hero). Pets have differing specialties.
Types of pets:
Type 1- Drakeling
The Drakeling unlocks at town hall level 9 for 30,000 dark elixir. This baby dragon is very loyal to your hero, and will defend them at all costs. When it is not sleeping, the Drakeling circles your hero overhead, and only leaves their side to attack.
Stats- level 1:
Hp- 150
Damage- 30
Movement speed- 26
Damage type-single target
Favorite target- any unit targeting assigned hero
*upgrade costs times and benefits undecided*
