I'm definitely not going anywhere :) Sitting right now at 2800 cups using Loonies and Minnows and having no problem at least being self-sufficient, usually making decent profit. However I don't have any experience on how this is affecting lower town hall levels to be honest. If you have the troops and time do it, try raising up your cups and see if things go better for you with the nice bonuses :)Quote:

People simply aren't going to continue to want to spend that kind of time just looking for a raid they can make a profit on. Then when you look at the cost of all the upgrades, no wonder people are becoming more and more "passive". From seeing my revenge list and looking at my clan members to talking to people....more and more are just collecting their pumps and mines and sitting on shield. Less activity is bad for this game! More time nesting is less time chatting with clan mates, more gold wasted into thin air, more frustration and more time spent. Attention span don't last thru 20 min of looking at bad loot bases over and over and over again
SC needs to encourage more attacking and by that they need to make each base worth more to attack. Does this mean just throw bigger storages, bigger collectors, higher percentages for wins? Not necessarily.
Here are a few ideas to help improve GAMEPLAY:
1. Institute loot bonuses (paid by the system not the defender) for 2star and 3star a base. Someone already mentioned this and this is a great idea! It should be instituted in CW as well! This would cut down on barching and have people actually use some of the other troops! How many times can you just search for full collectors over and over again? It's the idea behind Clan Wars, but Clan Wars does not pay you back what you put into the war, especially for the upper 25% that end up donating a lot to the war.
2. Develop a system where you get paid for defending your base. Simple way would be to just give a "league defense bonus", but a better way would be to factor in the attacker's army used against you. Bigger bonus for the defending the stronger army!
3. Improve the randomizer or have a way to design it so it notifies you when a "match" has been found much like clan wars does. Some way of not sitting there at your phone/tablet for 15-20 minutes looking for a base that you can make a profit on. Let's make the game more about the ATTACK then the luck of the find. While finding the "huge" bases every once in a while is fun...it's like playing slots. Pretty boring and not worth my time even if I know just one pull could make me rich...I still don't play. it's boring.
4. Make the TH worth more than 1K. As the TH levels rise, more loot should be in the TH. This loot would be completely separate from loot collected from collectors much like the CC now holds loot. Maybe the more wins you get the more loot gets stored in there. Lose the TH, and you lose a certain percentage of it. Some type of formula to make the TH worth more. If every TH8 had a TH worth 50K on top of the loot in the storages and collectors, there would be less nexting. Less nexting, more exciting gameplay.
5. Improve league bonuses. The current ones are pitiful. I'd rather see more bonuses for stars won and bigger CW loot, but this is an easy fix since the programming is already there. Just increase the amount per league. I've been to Masters 2 and the league bonus doesn't compare to the loot lost on an attack at that level.
I'm sure there are a lot of great ideas, but SC you have to fix the gameplay. Reward attackers sufficiently for doing great raids on tough bases. Make CW a viable way to actually make money (this too takes a great deal of time/effort/planning, and the payoff is not sufficient)

First off, if I don't use the same load out for everything, meaning it changes depending on what resource I'm after.
Gold/Dark Elixir: These two I farm for together since I, like many others need copious amounts of gold, but the load out I use to acquire gold usually brings in dark elixir as well. The reason for this is because players typically protect their de above all else. In other words if I can steal their de, I probably stole much of their gold. So here's the load out I find works for my attacking style:

Training time: Approx 31 minutes; approx a rate of 2 raids per hour
Elixir Farming:
- 4 Wall Breakers -12000
- 6 Giants - 12000
- 62 Archers - 12400
- 60 Minions (lvl 3) - 480 Dark Elixir
Total Elixir Cost: 36400
Total Dark Elixir Cost: 480
Training time: Approx 21 minutes; approx a rate of 3 raids per hour*** Avoid Using Spells *** (Should be obvious as to why, but if you want an explanation as to why not and I will tell you)
Now here's more required information to understand how I do make "bank" fast:
First off I would like to mention when I farm for gold/de I will use spells when available and I always have a minimum of 600k in elixir to keep the war machine rolling. When farming for gold, I clearly find targets with a minimum of 100k or more and cover the elixir costs. I have found that most of these targets are in the 1600-1750 trophy range.
Sometimes I will make an executive decision and if i find a player with a huge amount of gold but low elixir, I will decide to hit because I have started off with an elixir reserve and can afford to lose every now and again in exchange for large gold/de gains (typically gold). I will also hit players that will have only 80-90% of the elixir costs I need to re-train troops IF, I feel I can 1 star them for the BONUS loot. My strategy is this, you will spend more time searching for a player that has everything you need to make the raid worthwhile, and time is money. Therefore my goal isn't to find these players, but rather to minimize losses. Example, if I find a player with 150k in gold but only 90k in elixir, I'm automatically out 31800 elixir, but since my bonus is 8400 I'm only out 23.4k. To me this is peanuts when you consider the following: I'm probably saving up for something that costs over 1 million, and typically its over 2 million. I will most likely re-gain that 23.4k in a later raid. I'm not going to cry over that chump change. The point is I just stole approximately 1/10th of what I needed (using 1 mill as a base for this example) in one raid.
The last key point for gold/de farming is the rate of raids per hour. I often scratch my head at players that train time consuming units such as dragons or P.E.K.K.A's. They cost too much, take to long to train and use up valuable camp space for a more effective and cheaper "Meat 'n' Potates" units, such as giants and archers. I would rather farm approximately twice an hour then wait 3/4's of an hour to make the same amount of gold/de. More raids an hour equals more loot faster, therefore making my desired purchase faster. Simple time versus financial gains ratio.
As far as Dark Elixir goes, I don't stress over this, with my collectors drilling and raid after raid for gold, the de just climbs naturally. I make a de purchase once I hit a de goal as it comes in and try my best to ensure that a builder is close to being free or is free to complete the upgrade.
Now for elixir farming its all the same, however it is obvious to say that gold and de is not my main concern at all. Simply put, the de troops reduce the 125400 elixir costs down to 36400 and the minions allow me to do this. The last advantage of minion farming (as I have coined it in my clan) allows me a rate of farming of almost 3 raids per hour. Again, fast, cheap and effective while being frugal with elixir costs. But a distinguishing difference is I refrain completely from using spells. Again this should be obvious as to why.
Now last but not least I do two other things to make my life easier when raising funds and that is set goals and manage my builders. For example, when I had to acquire level 6 giants (typed in bold to answer your 8 million dollar question smart guy...) I did this over 2.5 days since they cost my 6 million. I farmed a meager 2 million a day as my goal, however, since I will offer tougher players then me upwards to 300k for flattening my base, i actually farm 2.3 million. This way I still maintain my pace of 2 million per day and since my TH is exposed and relatively unprotected, I increase my chances of getting a 12 hour protection versus being wiped and I remain ahead, but again, if I lose I still have my 2 million goal made and protected. So I know this method works, it's tried and true on my end of things, been doing this for over a year without a hitch and will further say this will be more practical to the average clasher then trying to raise 6 or even 8 million in one day; I have a real life. So when I do have to actually raise 8 million, I would have it in my base building agenda that it will be comfortably raised in 4 days.
Lastly, I would also like to mention that I don't buy gems since I downloaded the game for free, I will play for free and I am not trying to max out everything in 1 week. I've been playing for 4 months and anyone that read all this up to this point, I would invite them to find my clan and player info to verify my stats and base upgrade progress. All my info has been added to my profile for your researching enjoyment.
Now I have a request for your Character, please enlighten me and the rest of us what your clan and player info is, so we may have a gander at your stats and base. I offered mine in my profile for all to see and look-up. The last thing I want to do is get into a debate with someone who has either gemmed his way up the ranks or has a poor base design and/or poor upgrades. One last thing I want to add to all the rest of the comments, yes it has been over a week, I have misrepresented the actual timeline since the update, but this is inconsequential since I have not felt that there has been a significant change. I still find targets all day everyday. What I want to explain on my behalf for my original post was I read a comment that a particular player stated they spend 150k just to find one target. This is a ridiculous claim since I can find a suitable target with less than 30k at 750 per "search." Since I do not know what his/her TH level is I will use TH9 as an example. If he/she was a TH9 they were claiming that they search 200 times before finding a target. Again, ridiculous and give us all a break. They had posted in the ideas and suggestions section of this forum and I believe the original intent of this section was for new ideas, not ♥♥♥♥♥ing about things they either don't understand or things they can control.
Im a th10 lvl 116... I have search some times up to 300 times and have not seen suitable base to raid... mostly seeing raids of 30k or 50k bases... then have to settle for a 100k base. When I started playing u could find 250 to 500k bases np... now it really stinks...

Lol no ones gunna make 60 minions every battle to farm for purple elixir. You act like 480 per farm raid in DE is actually the answer. You really would kill almost 1k of De in 2 battles, the pumps dont even go that fast let alone making that much in the battles every single time. Nice answer but no ones going to use 60 minions to save on 10k purple elixir. Your answer is like saying archers are too expensive. Now thats a joke and everyone knows it. For my 6mill level 6 giants it cost me approx 20k in de, but made the giant purchase in 2.5 days. Its called time and money management. I rack up thousands of de from gold farming quite easily. I am also not the type of player that tries to employ 4 builders all in one day so I stagger the upgrades so that at most I am employing a builder every few days; again time management.
For any future commenters, if you want to learn something then remain open minded, otherwise continue to whine and accomplish nothing. I have nothing to prove, for I am doing everything I speak of and it works since TH1.
