Actually pekkas are pretty easy to path if done correctly. The real rub now a days is the skelly traps with gowipe. If you encounter a CC full of single units like archers, plus skelly traps next to core and don't lure the CC, it can cold stop a GOWIWIPE or GOWIPE.
I am now returning to GOWIWI or maybe just throwing in a single pekka into the mix and going heavy on the wiz to plow thru that mess.

I prefer GoWiWi with the following army comp with tweaks depending on the base you are up against with the number of wb and archers. I am a TH9, so this is what I use
5 witches
2 golem
2 pekka
10 archers
8 wb
6 wiz
cc all wiz
1 lightning spell
2 rage spells
1 jump spell
If you get witches in the cc, adjust the wiz amounts from your own barracks. If you need more wb, reduce the number of archers proportionally.

Th 10 here... Having more luck with gowiwi or gowiwipe with just one pekka. The skellies really mess pekkas up. My heroes are level 17
