Probably the most basic, well known economics principle springs to mind; Opportunity cost.

I haven't spent anything on it so far, just used the free gems. My husband spent $5 and quit playing a week or two later lol. I don't mind waiting.

It was $350 total accumulated for 2 years. I never asked for iTunes giftcards. But after a while they accumulated so I blew it on gems. Atleast it was something I enjoy.
