This was my point exactly, wizards at the lower levels are mostly useless, they die too easily, and at the mid levels are only slightly better at staying alive long enough to fire off more than one shot. Making people wait 8 minutes for a troop that lasts for no more than 3 seconds on the battle field of which most of that time is them walking into position to attack is silly.
I think it's funny that anyone would say that any one troop isn't for farming, when farming is such a large part of the game, I think SC realizes how archers being the primary looting troop gets pretty boring for the looters when people can easily defend against them. I think the people that want to keep wizards off the farming troop status are the ones that have set themselves up to defend against the lowly archers, and don't want to have to figure out a defense against more troops.
I don't want wizards to be used as much as archers, but just dropping the training time down to 4 minutes won't change that, they will still cost too much to make them a primary farming troop, but it will make them more available as an additional troop like the giant or wall breaker.
