I think that any players that leave the clan (not kicked) during war without using both war atacks should be labeled, DESERTERS or have a big red "S" next to their name on their profile page.. this label should remain for a period of 2 weeks.. it should also prevent the deserter from participating in wars fors that period of time (14 days).
what do you guys think ? any suggestions ?
That's a bit harsh dont u think? Maybe someone just left because they had something urgent. The fact that it has the symbol that tells when the cool down time is up will suffice
urgency ? what game scenario would cause an active player to leave a clan during war without using their attacks.. anyone that has played this game long enough knows that the worst thing in close wars are unsused attacks. considering it could lead to a loss which means no one gets their war bonus which then leads to the clan moral being down... I think a red D and 14 days is very fair. it's all for the protection clans from hoppers and flaky playersQuote:

agreed.. the whole idea is to get players to use war attacks. nothing worse than losing a war by 3-5 stars and you have players who didn't use them. im talking about players who out right leaves the clan hangingQuote:

this to the new update unwanted troops in the CC is no longer a problem. no one sys you can't leave a clan if you don't want to. im talking about habitual hoppers that go from clan to clan... wouldn't you want to know if a player screwed the last clan he was in ?Quote:

my idea is nowhere near as harsh. it's simply a heads up to all clans. so 14 days may seem a bit excessive.. how about 7 days ?
I like the idea. Even if its "negative badges" are ruled out a TEMPORARY badge for doing something bad, isn't that huge deal. Creating a clan is unrewarding enough already and being a good clan member isn't getting rewarded in any shape or form. But being a douche to clans and just request, request, request then leave is rewarded.
If they want to only keep it positive then they can add a badge "participated in X wars in a row" and stuff like that instead of a negative "deserter". It would do a similar thing and make participation something to brag about.
its not not a negative stat.. it would simply encourage loyalty and war participation. I mean inactive players get booted anyway but at least future clans would know what they are getting when they accept a new player into their clanQuote:

Not saying I agree with the deserter thing or think Supercell will do it...there are certainly measures clans can take to limit this possibility, mostly be being very selective in who you recruit. I would kind of like to see a longer ineligible for war period though.
I agree that this is necessary...instead od putting a big label though I think it should go in their general profile info with the other counters. It should just be a counter that says "number of wars deserted: 8" something like that. Not an actual label that calls them a deserter but more of a profile statistic. I am sick and tired of people ditching in the middle of war, this would help so much!
I think supercell has a thing against any kind of degative stats.. notice they won't even post a win/loss stat on clan description. only war wins.. upon furhrther thought I think it should be a level of war banishment. if you desert the clan with one remaining attack you can not participate in wars for 7 days. leave with both attacks unused and you the cool down period will last 14 days.. penalty will be instituted at the conclusion of war.. just in case the player grows a backbone and decides to come back.Quote:

Every clan goes through this. Its just part of the game. You just try to weed out the hoppers and recruit loyal members.
Also if they try joining a new clan they are kind of marked as a hopper if they leave mid war. Some clans will see that and reject.
I like the idea of maybe adding more time to the cooldown for the next war with anyone not using both attacks, this would be enough of a punishment without being a negative badge. However, Clans can limit their exposure to this by not starting wars when they have a lot of new recruits on board.
Another idea would be to add a feature for the leader/ co leader to select participants in wars, so when they know a member is away they can still have a war with them in the clan but not selected to participate in it. That feature can also be used to deselect new members so new members can be vetted while the rest of the clan can still go to war.
