The Definitive New Hero Thread
There have been plenty of suggestions for new heroes, and it’s a popular topic, so I wanted to try and cover pretty much everything in a single thread.
There are 2 main things to consider about any new hero suggestion:
- Supercell has indicated that they don’t want any new hero with King or Queen in the name. Makes sense to have just one King and one Queen, but it eliminates a number of potential heroes, including some of the most popular suggestions, such as Goblin King.
- In keeping with the Barb King and Archer Queen, the most sensible and likely addition to the game would be a beefed up version of a regular troop, and includes a special ability.
With that said, I’m going to try and cover the most likely and popular names and abilities, and leave the cost, hitpoints, damage per second, summoning and upgrade cost for Supercell.
Goblin Prince/Goblin Lord/Goblin Master
This is probably the most obvious, and most mentioned. This giant goblin would head straight for enemy storages, quickly smashing any walls in the way and dealing the storages unparalleled damage, and possibly having the ability to steal more loot from storages or collectors than other attackers. On defense he would rage against anyone who comes near your resources, taking out numerous troops at once with his club. For a major addition like a hero, however, this one doesn’t seem all that exciting, and the special abilities it might make sense for him to have are pretty limited. One option might be a ground-shaking stomp.
Ruler of Giants
The biggest problem with a hero based on a giant is it’s hard come up with any name that is as good as Giant King. Nor would it be all that exciting to have a hero that targets defenses, and is pretty limited in terms of what you can do with his special abilities. Like the Goblin Hero, he could carry a club and do damage to multiple targets when defending, and a giant stomp that shakes the ground and causes damage seems the obvious choice for a special ability.
Elder Wizard/Dark Wizard/Black Wizard/Wizard Master/Ancient Wizard
This larger than life wizard would have greater range than a normal wizard, and be able to shoot lightning at 2 structures at once, one with each hand. When a building is destroyed, his lightning could go directly through and do a fraction of the damage to the building behind it if still in range. If he engages a wizard tower or clan castle wizard, he would take little to no damage from it, rather catching the enemy wizard’s lightning or fireball with 2 hands, and returning it with a force that kills in a single blow. Rather than walking, he could also teleport into the thick of the battle after each couple of blows, which would also render him invisible to defenses for a couple seconds at a time (though he could also have increased vulnerability while starting to teleport). As a special ability, he would raise his arms, and rain lightning down from the heavens. On defense, he wouldn’t roam around, but be in a state of deep meditation, so he might not notice a base is being attacked until troops get really close. Then he would rain down lightning once alerted, the idea being to prevent him from being too defensively overpowered.
Dragon Lord/Dragon Mother
Though it would be cool to see a sleeping dragon curled up on bases, waiting to defend against any attackers that come near, it honestly doesn’t seem like good choice, since you couldn’t really give it that many more hit points, or make it do that much more damage than a regular dragon without making it ridiculously overpowered. And what is the special ability? Does it swoop down and pluck the nearest wizard or archer(s) off their tower, rendering that defense useless? Maybe it swallows the beam of the inferno tower and sends the damage back to its source. Really though, an eventual level 5 dragon seems to make a lot more sense than a dragon hero, particularly with the other options available.
Lord of the Minions
A superpowered minion would probably be my choice as a new hero, and possibly the most obvious choice aside from a Goblin Hero. Spraying dark elixir, or shooting multiple streams, he could deal splash damage, and have a greater range than an ordinary minion. Perhaps his dark elixir spray would even act as a sticky substance that covers defenses, not only dealing some damage, but decreasing the rate at which they are able to attack. As a special ability, he could dive-bomb a particular target, smashing into it feet first, dealing massive damage. At higher ability levels, the range of the splash damage from his thunderous landing could increase, dealing damage to nearby structures, or he could launch a few seconds of powerful ground assault before returning to the air.
Valkyrie Princess
With a greater wingspan than a regular valk, and a double-sided axe in each hand, she would deal massive damage to multiple targets at once. Valkyries are also often depicted with wings, and or on horses, so she could also be made to fly (perhaps while not attacking) or jump over walls. Special abilities might include throwing axes like a boomerang, or creating a whirlwind of destruction, like a series of mini tornadoes that spin off her as she spins around. A valkyrie hero seems to be a bit of a dark horse, and probably the least requested of any possible new hero on here, but it also has a lot of potential.
White Witch/White Wizard/Ice Witch/Witch Princess
The White Wizard is a little too LOTR, so the White Witch or Witch Princess are probably better choices. Her deadly ray would be more powerful and have greater range than an ordinary witch, and her skeletons would be sent out to destroy anything that might be targeting her. She might be able to counteract the effects of some of the more magical defenses, like x-bows, wizard towers, and inferno towers, particularly if her power comes from the cold, and her special ability is to cast a freeze spell. On defense, she could summon a cold wind that would slow down enemy troops and send them off course, and perhaps even blow some of them away completely.
---
I know a lot of other options have been presented, but heroes based on troops not listed here don’t seem to make much sense, nor do heroes not based on any existing troops at all. And even though I included them in the list, I would probably also rule out any giant or dragon hero for reasons I mentioned above, which is why I am only including 5 options in the poll.
Please respond with any other suggestions for names, abilities, etc.
