Definitely yes, it does not take that long and is not really expensive and will pay off in the long run, especially when you use the 1 gem boost events that have been going on lately :)

depends, if you are not active then you can upgrade the collectors (to keep the builder busy).
Can you really say no to free resources? That too, even more in amount if you upgrade the collectors

I'm th6 and its took me almost 2 month to completely max it out (i got less than a hour on my final ).
I've struggled to get elixir to upgrage my 3 barracks and max my 3rd camp.
I've noticed how quick my resources go up since I've maxxed my collectors for th6 and with I had done it sooner.
I will just add to the multiple people who are saying this: YES!
Think about it.. You'll get more resources in general, and even more resources during 1 gem boosts. Worth it!
well to put it lightly and not be so critical:
If you are very active you will make tons more money than you can get from collectors so really you can raid and upgrade stuff or
If you are slightly less active and like seeing full collectors by all means upgrade to max and work your way up. I'm tellin ya that definitly having collectors maxed out by at least the end of TH7 is probably your best shot here.
Exactly, at a TH that low you should be able to raid all the resources you need if you are active. If you aren't active, then sure do your collectors. Up till TH8 I had L7 ish collectors because I could raid for the resources. TH9 and to a certain extent TH8 need L10+ collectors because raiding is slow.Quote:

Think about it this way, collectors always defends your base successfully(generates resources that makes up for the loss when you get raided compared to not leveling them), defenses only defend your base some of the times, when attackers fail. Even if attacks fail you still lose tons of gold from having to rearm your traps.
When you don't have to defend such as getting TH sniped, defenses do absolutely nothing, collectors keeps generating resources. No matter what collectors always win over defenses unless you care about trophies.
I can see the argument for not leveling up elixir pumps prior to this update, now there's just no reason not to max them before defenses.
Last thing I did at th6 first thing I did at th7. The main reason I did it first was because I knew lvl 11 was max and I wanted to know I would never have to upgrade them again. The income has been great.

yes, if you get raided by having no defenses you won't lose few hundred K every day trust me. You won't have max storages everyday and people don't 3 star you every attack either. CW is all about attacking not defense anyways. If you can pull in more than 3 stars every war, I'm sure getting 3 starred yourself doesn't hurt your clan too much. Besides having max defense is not guaranteed to prevent 2-3 star. Lower defense matches your clan vs easier opponents so it all evens out. Collectors are not factored into cw match making afaik. Anyone that thinks they're "helping" their clan by having high defense clearly missed supercell's announcement on cw matchmaking.Quote:

I appreciate your contribution to this thread, but I strongly disagree that having max collectors and no defense would benefit you in any aspect of the game.
Basically you have just said you would prefer to have maxed collectors and crappy defense, instead of full storages and a good defense... If you can raid the resources for more expensive defense upgrades, why would you handicap yourself by wasting the most precious resource in the game (Time) on collectors? Why not just focus on your defense? At lower TH lvls you can easily raid enough for any upgrade.Quote:

Tbh, i rarely find any people with a resource that can match the resource generated by the Mine/Collector, plus, to find him/her it will cost a gold (FIND A MATCH) and elixir (THE TROOPS), so i prefer defense over offenseQuote:
