I do get the point about the upgrades, though it would be better to consider how long they take and the cost, not just how many there are. Regardless of that though, you spend way more in gold than e at TH9 even without walls, and, gold, DE troops and hero upgrades are much more limiting factors if you're trying to max a base than an added elixir upgrade would be.

That's the point gowipe is a two star strategy...you might get lucky and get three but the game has evolved past gowipe.
Honestly, if you're still using gowipe right now I think you're stuck in a rut that you really need to get out of. and I doubt that adding another lvl to pekkas at town hall 9 would really make a difference. there are better strategies than gowipe these days like holowiwi and gohowiwi that are more reliable to three star than gowipe.

That being said, not only are there 4 more "coming soon" troop spots in the dark barracks (at least some of which probably won't even unlock till TH10), there's a real case now for level 5 drags, level 6 hogs, and possibly witches 3 and level 5 healers (though some of these may also require tweaking other levels), so it's not as if there's any shortage of research that can/will be added to TH10. I for one don't necessarily see this as a problem though.

True enough, I'm just saying in general I'd like to see PEKKAs be more useful, and this would help, but you're right it wouldn't make that much difference, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't do it.

and yeah...I've been using a lot of Lavaloon with a kill squad to start, and have been working on GoWiWi with a backside balloon attack. I think these are probably two of the best TH9 strategies.

really once a variation of gowipe is introduced I think gowipe will become a 3 star strategy again. maybe

TH8 lvl3 PEKKA
TH9 lvl4 PEKKA
TH10 lvl5 PEKKA
