Farming Guide for TH8 - How to efficiently max out TH8
1. Preparation for TH8
TH7 is a hard TH level, you have to start making bases with 3 mortars instead of two, the upgrade expenses are raised significantly from the TH6 upgrade expenses, and many more things. Still it is suggested to completely max put TH7 (walls, defenses, troops).
As you upgrade your TH, you will want to have full storages, (elixir, dark elixir, gold).
2. Resource Farming - What you should focus on
When you arrive at TH8, and have got your builders busy (I will talk about what to upgrade in the next section), you should focus on all three resources, with less emphasis on DE.
-You should be getting gold non-stop to keep upgrading your splash defenses.
-You should be getting elixir non-stop to quickly level up your troops.
Once you are done with most of your elixir upgrades (preferably all of them). You should focus on DE and gold using a balloon-minion strategy in section 2. Of this guide. Once you have finished all your defenses, you should get your hero up from probably about lvl6 by now, to 10, once your hero is done farm DE at the highest speed possible to max put your DE troops in the lab. Using the gold you should get while farming DE, you should quickly start getting your level8 walls, and when you finished them, you maxed out TH8! Congrats! :o
3. Upgrade Order
As soon as you get to TH8 you should start upgrading:
-Lab (elixir)
-Mortar, Wizard Tower and air defense (gold)
-Then you will want to get all your new buildings to apt he same levels as the buildings of the same type from TH7 and bellow
Once you have finished upgrading all of the above, you should use your elixir for:
1. Archers, because archers are the most important troops in the attack strategy you should be using while getting most of your elixir and gold
2. Barbarians, because barbarians are an important troop in the attack strategy you should be using while getting most of your elixir and gold.
3. Wizards because wizards are the top donation troop in most clans.
4. Balloons, because you will need them to farm DE
5. Dragons, because they are useful in farming DE
6. Your DE storage because a lvl2 DE storage cant hold enough for a lvl6 BK
7. Rage Spell - to max because rage spells are very, very important when you are using balloons/minions, or dragons
8. Heal Spell - to max because they will help a lot when raiding with balloons
9. Goblins, because you might want to use them when farming
10. Giants, because you might want to use them when farming. WB because you might want to use them when farming
11. WB because they go very well with giants!
12. Lightning spell - to max, because they are useful with giants.
12. Healers because they are useful with giants
After this, you can max out your lab stuff in any order you want!
Gold for:
1. Mortars/Wiz towers/AD, try and do all three of each at once, so your base won't be weak for to long. Because, your base will probably be weak without 1 mortar, wiz tower or AD. So do them all at once, just to minimize the time your base will be weak!
2. Archer towers, because they are better then cannons, and you will need their air support for higher DE farming leagues.
3. Teslas because they are a very important defense in TH9/10
4. Cannons because they are very affective, along with archer towers, against giants.
5. All Traps
6. Walls XD
DE for:
1. Minions
2. Hero, up to ten
3. Other lab troops
After this you should have a maxed out TH8 base!
Section 2: Farming strategies
1. Barch
Most people like to just use 100 barbs, 100 archers when doing barch, but I like to add a few wall breakers. When training barch, I suggest you have 1 barracks training 50 archers, one barracks training 50 barbs, one barracks training 40 barbs 5 wb, and 1 barracks training 40 archers, 5 wb. When doing this, you should end up with 90 barbs, 90 archers and 10 wallbreakers.
b) Cup Range
-If you are looking for gold and elixir, Silver I
-If you are filling storages for TH7, Silver II
-If you are looking for gold, a little elixir, and a little DE, Gold III
c) Strategical Concerns
-Remember that mortars and wizard towers will do mass damage against groups of barbarians and archers, try to use your BK to take the damage.
-Be careful of Big Bombs, they could easily destroy a large section of your army if you deploy to many of your troops in one place. Start with deploying one barbarian in the place where you plan to put a group of troops.
-Be careful of walls above lvl5+, use 2 wall breakers per wall (if there are any defenses that can hit the wall without problem) if not use one.
-Remember clan castle reinforcements, try not to deploy all your troops at once, do what you would usually do, lure them out to the side and massacre them, if you do not do this, a dragon or wizard could easily mess up your attack.
-Remember to pick a side to focus your attack on, presumably the side where most of the storages or collectors are on.
d) Searching
I do not have any tactics on how to find a good base to raid :( but I will show you what you should be looking for.
Try to find a base like this:
-TH 5-8 (or all the resource in the collectors) also, only TH8 if it’s a rusher! :0
-Base with minimum 150K
-all lvl6 walls (min)
-lvl5 mortars/lvl4 wiz towers max
e) Deployment Tactics:
There are many ways to deploy this army. I will show you a few of my favorites.
In a circle - Barch storage raid
A tactic I quite like is to surround the base with about 15 archers, and 15 barbs, to pick off a few buildings that could get in your way when going for the loot. Then pick a side where a lot of the loot is and deploy a large amount of barbarians and archers, along with a small force of barbarians and archers on the other three sides of the base. As the troops start attacking the walls, send in a few wall breakers to destroy the walls and give your troops access to the sides of the base. Then send in your BK and prepare to rage him as soon as he gets to either half health, or the center of the base.
2. In a circle - Barch Collector raid
A Circle Barch collector raid is usually very different from a storage raid, because here you do not need to get into the center. So I would suggest you surround the base tightly with barbarians and archers. Then, if everything goes well surrender or end battle.
3. One side massacre - Barch Storage and collector raid (both works)
To do a one side massacre with Barch, is a very simple thing to do. You should deploy a line of barbarians and archers, maybe about 20 of each, on the side you think is best to attack, then, when most of the outside buildings are gone, deploy a line of barbarians and archers, deploy most of your troops but do not deploy them all! You might want them later! :D Then send in WB’s to destroy the walls that will probably be in the way of your troops. After you have done this all, send in your BK to help out. Rage him when your troops start reaching the center.
The next section will be about DE farming and more, it will probably be out by later tonight or tomorrow:p
Please comment and tell me what you think! Also add any suggestions if you have any.
Upgrading the "Big Three" all at the same time
I would suggest that you upgrade 3 Mortars, 3 Wizards, or 3 AD at the same time. This would require a lot of gold grabbing but for me, its better have an ultra weak base for 5 days(where i will probably have little to no loot) than a weak base for 15 days. An i personally think that a base that has only 2 mortars functioning to be as easy target as a base that has no mortars functioning.
Just my thoughts, please don't hate me :)
