Hidden Lightning Rod

Ok so we all see the complaints about having your dark and other resources zapped by lightning.
How about similar to a hidden tesla, a hidden lightning rod that would sit beside what ever resource or defence you choose and once it detects the lightning bolt it would direct the lightning directly into the ground.
Would solve a lot of complaints.
