I'm a pretty extreme farmer, and at TH10, farming is quite difficult post-update. If I could put a general number as to how much harder, I would say it's about 3 fold compared to pre-update.

Filling DE and Gold is not too bad, but Elixir is a huge problem, there isn't much out there and there are very few collector raids. Collectors raids are not what I depend on as a TH10, but they are pockets of loot oasis's that really speed up farming progress. Storage raids are always more difficult and you hardly get out with 100% of it, with a heavy use of spells and dispensing all your troops. Prior to the update, TH9s used to all contain some decent storage loot, especially elixir which were often 200K+. I used to hit some of those to replenish my elixir wells, those no longer exist.

I have a long list of achievements and I have the tools and the patience, it's just clearly a huge difference. Perhaps it was SC's plan to slow high level player progress all along, even boosting is rather useless and wasteful as you still need to find raids to loot. TH8s and lower don't see this impact at all, so they cannot relate until they experience later down the road.

They could not be more correct though. Gold and DE and found in plenty. But elixer is very difficult to find now except on inactives. Even with barching if I have to use a spell to ensure a success the revenues are minimal. But we all know that supercell with not change the patch back even if they know it was a blunder. All you have to do is follow the gems, just like politics. Supercell is a company with the intent of make a profit. younger players tend to spend much more gems than more experienced players that will only gem to boost barracks/spells/heros. we very rarely finish buildings like younger players. since spending elixir on walls was their number one request from young players they are going to placate to them. those of us that have been playing awhile now, really do not matter.
Follow the money, a rule that fits with politics and companies.

I'm th10 and use max loonion often. I know what the purpose is and the problem with the hound doing no dps is it fails to replace 6 balloons at max level with it's 30 spaces it uses. I get more stars without it. My point was that 2-3 golems will actually do damage. And that 8! Yes 8! Ridiculous hounds couldn't hurt one air defense. Obviously no one would normally do that with golems or hounds. But replace one hound with its space in balloons or ANYTHING else will do more to help win.

IMO not a good idea to make people able to put their elixir into walls. But I guess it is done now
