Give Them a Break....

Guys,

I know everyone has waited a while for the update and having it postponed made the wait even longer.

We all love Hay Day and we all get excited about updates.

I know it gets frustrating when you've waited for so long for something you're looking forward to and there are problems with it. Especially if you can't use it properly or at all.

But just put yourself in Supercells shoes....

Just think about how excited the team were. Imagine how long we've waited for the update and times that by 10 - that's how long they've been working on it. Imagine how excited you were when you saw it was in the app store... times that by 50 - that's how excited they were when they were about to hit that big 'ol 'release update' button... think about how frustrated you feel now that you have the update and there are issues with the game or the connectivity or whatever... times that by 100 - that's how the guys at Supercell feel.

This is their baby and they were probably more excited, more happy, more frustrated about the lead up to the update than any of us could ever imagine. They were probably more excited and proud when they finally released than any of us have ever been of our farms, towns & neighbourhoods. And they are most likely more gutted, annoyed, frustrated than any one of the players ever could be that there are so many issues with it since it has been released. It must be even harder to see what people are saying in the comments on the forum.

I just wanted to say well done Supercell team. Great job. Great update, great game and great fan base. Most of us know that you are doing everything you can to resolve any issues the players are having and most of us know you'll do this as soon as you can in the best way possible.

Congratulations on another fantastic update and for creating such a great game that so many people love. Not many software houses have been able to achieve that the way you have.

I do agree with you but on this case i think Nick is a little to blame (sorry Nick).

I saw the thread on the forum about some bugs i when there and reported my problem, them i reported that i was able to connect, and them some missing coins.

A few hours later i saw that Nick update the original post stating the list of know issues and some of them updated with fix or not information.

I do realize that we all are a big part of the problem on the best case, because we are so many, worst case, because we don't read the ENTIRE thread and simply made a new post.

But, there is always a but, SC and on this case Nick is an experienced forum moderator so he must know that it's impossible for people to read all post's before making their post, so he should have replay also on the "last" post so that people, like me, that have the forum order by post date can see what is the last development.

With that said, since i too have contribute for the spam of SC, and because i'm also a programmer, I do thank SC because beside the pressure we put on the on the forum, the team has the entire structure of SC asking why are they losing players and worst of all money.

As I was feeding my chickens i got a wood pannel, which I need, but your server blipped on me and when I came back it gave me a saw instead.

I know you have a new investor who wants us gamers to pay more for diamonds and coins, but ♥♥♥♥♥ing a player out of toils when they rare hard enough to come by? That's just wrong. Don't give something and then take int away like that.

I think everyone should report a bug as and when there is one... but there is also a lot of complaints and frustrations which again is fine. Everyone needs a place to air these.

I didn't chastise anyone... just wanted to show supercell some support and remind people that they're probably just as disappointed as we are. It's hard on them too and all I was asking was for us to put ourselves in their shoes for a moment.

Exactly. I too work on software, for large software companies and I know how disappointing it is when you release something that you think would please the masses and then you have issues with it. It's a hard a blow. I saw so many negative posts - I just wanted one positive one in there somewhere and to show a little support for the team working on it.

Great job as well

Totally agree with Vfine - I was one of the few affected by the connection bug but I was not upset. Supercell is still far and above one of the best casual games out there and they work hard to keep it that way. Why should we be upset by the one or 2 diamonds lost if we are waiting on Tom - besides its not like we are not compensated - much better than the OTHER farming game. I'm very happy with the teams work and hope to keep playing a long time. Great job!

Cyndi8706, I'm sure SC didn't purposely go out of their way to do that to you and I'm certain it was completely out of their control.

Although this 'new investor' you speak of sounds just like the Sherif of Nottingham and if so then he probably did devise an evil plan to give you a wood panel and then take it away again only to give you a saw next time. I bet he's sat there right now saying 'Mwuhuhuhhaaaa that showed you Cyndi8706, that should teach you for not buying diamonds.'

So just in case this is the case and if you are that upset about losing that wood panel... then I would happily give you one of my wood panels. In fact I will give you two to make up for the inconvenience. I'll be your Robin Hood.

Let me know if you would like me to do this.

And I hope whole heartedly that evil 'new investor' never pulls a stunt like this again.

I've never known a new release or update of ANYTHING not to have some glitches. The programmers do their best to make it "perfect" before they hand it over to us, but the only way they can really find the last few bugs (not bees!) is to send it out. They'll fix it! They want it right! It's important that people post their problems so the programmers know what needs attention, but they are on our side. Give them, and Nick, the credit they deserve. Thanks, guys, (farmers, programmers, and moderators) for making Hay Day the fabulous place it is.

Right on MiniGardener - I've worked in software too - in fact in Quality Control and this is exactly how it's done - they've done a great job = as far as Cyndi8706 - I'll gladly take your saws I have lots of trees to chop and I have an excess of planks at times; shhh don't say that too loud.

It sure felt like a scolding. Telling people to put themselves in the place of the developer when they, the customer, are having issues just seems redundant to me. I actually agree with you that SC does a pretty good job, but just seemed out of place on a day when so many are having issues.

I guess for me, the most important time to show support is when things go wrong. It has been a pretty bad day for SC. I bet the team have been working hard and are feeling pretty rotten. In among all the negativity I wanted to show some positivity. For me I feel all these issues are ok. Not ideal and of course everyone would prefer not to have them but in software / programming world it happens - this type of thing happens all the time. It's the nature of the beast. That's how we get such great software in the end. Every player has their right to view their opinions, if it's a negative one then that's fine, I don't have a problem with that and I haven't chastised or scolded anyone for doing so. I'm just voicing my opinion and the opinion of some other players who don't mind that this is happening and letting SC know that it's ok, it happens, not all of us are that bothered and like I said before - showing a little bit of support. Why would you chastise & scold me for that? After all that is what you're doing. And yes you are right 'so many are having issues' and yes ' the customer, are having issues' and my point was so are SC this is a HUGE issue for them and they didn't do this on purpose and definitely didn't want this happen - this is probably the last thing that wanted to happen.

As I said before there is nothing wrong with providing negative feedback and there is nothing wrong with providing positive feedback. I could have commented on the former, I had down time & was effected by the bugs in the game too but I decided to comment on the positive and show a little support.

You seam like a pleasant and reasonable person and from what I see you were not one of the players complaining. You did however report your issues in the correct threads as you should if there is a bug. So why take this so personally seen as you are not one of the ones I was referring to?? Did that nasty ‘ol Sheriff of Notthingham take a wood panel from you too? is that why you’re cranky?
