5th builder?

guys i have a question regarding the 5th builder. I'm a TH8 with defenses maxed and currently upgrading walls. I've never spent a penny on this game as of now. right now i have some 1200 gems, here are the achievements i'm close to completing as of now:
nice and tidy 20gems
spoils of war 100 gems
destroy 10 infernos 100 gems
go to crystal league 250 gems

so with all these achievements complete, i'll have 1670 gems (add gems from bushes and hope for a gembox, 1700 gems)
so is it worth going to masters for those extra 1000 gems or should i buy 500 gems so as to get the 5th builder as soon as possible?
the reason i'm contemplating buying is because i still haven't been able to reach 2000 trophies so masters is a bit far fetched for me.

I TH sniped to master when I was a TH8. Just make sure you pack giants to take out hidden telsa.

Took me just under 2 days to go from Silver 1 to Master.

go to masters! sure it might seem hard but all you have to do is.....


-switch to a farming base with your th far outside and your gold as far in as possible

-find a base with th outside protected by a few arch towers and cannons and hit it with barch strategy

-believe in yourself and you will accomplish your goal

(also hit the gold pumps whenever your done with the townhall, it takes a lot of gold to do this)

Believe me you want to take 6-8 giants to kill hidden telsa

I just made it to TH-9 a month ago and I am still struggling to find good loot. I too have never spent a dime on this game (just countless hours). I have all 5 builders from just clearing trees/bushes and completing achievements.

But I can tell you from experience, it is really difficult to keep all 5 builders busy with TH-9 upgrades due to cost.
- Archer Tower lvl 11, 5,000,000
- Cannon lvl 11, 3,200,000
- Cross Bow lvl 1, 3,000,000
- Cross lvl 2, 5,000,000
- Tesla lvl 7, 3,500,00
- etc..

Sure, 5 builders is awesome initially, but for the first time this week, I am unable to steal enough resources to keep 5 builders employed. :p

I'd say it's definately worth it to get that 5th builder ASAP if you play often enough to keep 5 builders busy. However like someone said, by TH9, upgrades are hugely expensive and may take a couple hours of daily playing to keep all builders busy. If you can't fit that in your schedule, I wouldn't worry about that 5th builder.

Also, kudos to you for not spending any money. I'd say just wait for the remaining gems. It's an accomplishment of patience

To me it's the best use of gems. The sooner you get it the more benefit you will see before upgrades get ridiculous. Another vantage point though is that upgrades get more expensive so does the build time. When your talking 6 days for archers, 10 for AD and 12 for teslas at TH9 levels it isn't that hard to keep four busy while leaving a fifth for walls if your a good farmer.

exactly, til TH8 you can make your 5 builders busy all the time, but with astronomical costs of TH9 and TH10 structures and upgrades that will be a challenge

no issues on TH9, 5 builders always going, TH10, not some much sometimes have 2-3 builders idle.

Loot sucks, expensive etc etc
