Not to be redundant, but great idea! I'm surprised this hasn't already been implemented yet.
It is a bit aggrevating when I'm at work and wanna jump on and donate real quick and I get that message. I'm like, man I only have 3 minutes!

Its a good idea, less suspenseful though, that feeling just before when you don't know if you're being sniped or fully raided is thrilling.
Yes it would be awesome to watch...as far as clogging server goes...I don't think adding the ability to watching your home base get attacked will clog anything, how many wars are going one all day every day...
