I'm cruising up the ladder in my league and am getting closer to the top 5. Has anybody here got #1 in their league yet? If so, did you just bump up into the next league? If that is the case I might just hover at 1999 until the tourney is over. :)

I had #1 before, doesn't mean anything.
You will just get bump up to the next league
And no, its pointless to be #1 in your league as there are virtually no benefit at all.
No, but if there is an incentive, it might just give me the push to try it out.

I don't even check now. If somehow they make it so that the rankings are based on your wins, I'd care more. But since it's about trophies, again like all other rankings we have so far, and you just get bumped up if you exceed the maximum for your league I stopped bothering.
Yeh the leagues really are a bit pointless atm...
The league system is just about right for now.... They have put in place the system and it largely leaves the game. Unaffected.
however by this being in place it will allow them to easily monitor and eventually tweak the bonus received (which is currently no incentive at all)... However they have in place the foundation for future updates..
Such as the ability to lock a league if they wanted... Ie the 2 week cycle they have included.. Adding gem rewards to the leaders of each league... I think they played it just about right tbh... And I'm keen to see in which direction this goes
You don't get anything for "winning" your league. If you want to go up, just go up and take advantage of the higher bonus (and yes, I know it is tiny). In fact, you can bump yourself up a league level and then drop back down a bit while staying in the higher league and collecting the higher bonuses. You'll be in the bottom of your new league, but once again, your rank doesn't matter.
The league can use a lot of work but I don't think it's pointless. The ranking however, is a different matter, but surprisingly a lot of players seem to be more excited about that, even in my clan people were posting their rankings on their league. I guess, it's because now they have a better chance to be "number 1". The novelty will wear off soon though.Quote:
