Just wanted to report: I have been using this layout since I am going almost exclusively for DE these days, and no one has gotten all my DE yet. The most DE I have lost from the storage was due to a balloon collapsing at an inopportune time, causing slight damage.
I LOVE this base, especially now that it doesnt have stacked walls.

This base is originally designed to defend against jump spells. But i'm not sure if it still does after Jordan modified it.
