I'm currently standing on 2.5K DE i got from a zapping run in Gold III
However i feel this might not be the way to go about it... Lots of people on the forums and in game seem to want to oblitterate any scrub TH7 that tries zapping in the most through and humiliating way possible.
So assuming most people on here maxed at TH7, how did you go about getting the 10K DE back then?

Zap is ineffective, i just used giants and heal spells to hit storages in gold 3 at about 700 de or more. Backed em up with barbs, archers, and wbs. Got my barb king to level 5 at th7 this way, plus upgraded my de troops.

I'd reccomend going to gold 1 with you th out of range of defenses but in range of the camera (NO TH TRAPPING!). There are a few inactives. Raid DE drills that have solid squared stone foundations with a light gray ring around them only on inactive bases. You should have your barb king within 15 raids, no joke! I get 2500 sometimes off 3 dark drills!

Don't EVER do what I did. Biggest regret I've ever made and a complete waste of money. I did in fact gem my king the second I got the dark storage.
train balloonion when you're not gonna be on for an hour otherwise barch full drills
That is how I got my King at TH7. Sniped my way to Crystal and continued to snipe and get the DE for wins and had King in 2 days..
This^^ especially now with people boosting the drills. Up in G I/C III or rarer in GII you will find quite a bit of people who have boosted the drills and left them out for you to siphon it off. I am always surprised when I see people do this boost then dont collect for ages really helps my GG/HHQuote:

Took Me 1 Week. I Did 1-3 DE Zapping Each Day And Did Full Wizard And Healer Attacks. I Mostly Got DE From This TH9 Who Was Rushed. He Had 5,000 Somthing. He Was Soooo Rushed Everything Was Level 4 But His DE Storage. I Killed His BK And Got All The DE. Yup. I Love My BK.

Zapping it, picking off high level drills, and attacking bases with atleast 200 DE, pretty easy to farm 10k when you have most of the th7 upgradesQuote:

I got level 5 king in TH7 from mostly Zapping,and a bit from farming it
Spent a few days raiding any th8-9 that had 500-1000 plus de and could be gotten easily. Though every time i logged off i lost a good chunk.
I gemmed $10 and used that to fill my dark elixir storage, then bought him with it.
I did a mix of zapping and barching drills up in crystal, the win bonus is small but it all adds up, occasionally sniping for quick de, did that until he was lvl5
At first I was really comited to getting 10000 de and I got it really anyway I could(zapping, barching drills, or using giants and healers to get to low level storages). But I never got that much so in the end I ended up loosing a ton of we and I went back down fast to 3.6 k de and decided I should just gem it with the gems I got from achievements and obstacle's
Go for drills and snipe to crystal, you get 50 de bonus.
No reasonable TH7 will go that far for Barb King, you will get completely smashed without a solid base or low walls.Quote:

I did the same thing. I spent over 600 gems that I had saved from the beginning. Oh how I sometimes wish I could go back in time and give myself all of the knowledge I have now. I certainly would be 600 gems richer
I would barch/th snipe my way up to gold 1 or crystal 2 then focus on hitting drills on the outside and des on the outer rim. Had my bk to lvl5, lvl2 mins and lvl2 hogs before my th7 was maxed.
TH snipe to gold 1+ and just boost the spell factory and zap like mad. Got my BK to lvl 5 at town hall 7 this way with no gems.
He's currently upgrading to lvl 9 at TH8

Yes, Keep LS in case you see a 1500+ loot.
Dead bases in 1800+ and zapping and town hall sniping a lot in Crystal 3 and above helped me plenty.

Looted a good chunk and used my free gems for the rest. I wouldn't have bought gems to get it but I'm a tightwad like that.

Zapped some DE storages at the early stage but I found it's not efficient so I farmed and collected myself a full lv1 DE storage and then pressed on the BK icon in the market happily.

When we had a sf boost a couple months back, all I made was lighting spells and got my barb king :D
Now farming is a lot easier haha

I bought gems with 5 euros and got it. And was worth it!
Level 4 wizards, wall breakers and goblins. I do a giant and healer but just to buy time for them to take the dark stuff. I got a lv2 Barb King and lv2 Minions this way
Also, you shouldn't only be looking for just 1k DE raids because you'll probably never find a raidable one. Rather take from people with 500-600
I used archers barbs gobs & wbs. Or replace the barbs with a few giants. To hit thru 2 walls to reach the de storage & yes anything above 500 de. Use rage & heal spells to help. Gobs distract mortars n most defensive buildings, deploy a few here n there whilst barbs ahead of archers.
if u go for a 2 hr raid with gemed barracks, u can get about 3000 de easily.

To heck with all the people complaining about DE zapping. It's not banned or anything so why can't we do it? I zapped half of the way to my barb king in TH 7.
I went up to crystal 3 and started mass dragging for 1000 de raids with 3 lightning spells to get rid of 1 air defence. And it's profitable with the loot bonus as well, 20 successful attacks nets you 1000 de alone. Make sure to leave your th outside.
Sniped to crystal 1 as max th6 while waiting for upgrade (cheap search costs and win bonus enough for maintenance, also for the extra gems achievement). The moment I hit th7, collector raids (lvl3+ de collectors full have 1-2k.5!) on the way down from 2400-1500. Managed to get 10k in between, got the king and rested in silver3. :)

As a nearly maxed TH7, I finished my Elix Upgrades rather early (maxed camps and barracks almost first thing) and focused on DE raids with mass drags. As I cant actively play during the week due to work, dragon armies are a blast because they take almost 2 hours to cook but I can be sure I'll get trophies + loot.
Started BK to 4 yesterday and have ~5k DE already from 4 or so raids. I will, on occasions run low on Elix, since the dragons cost 300k and 3 rages adds up to 420k Elix. Usually I try to not use all the drags and if possible, no spells, so i end up doing 4~6 drags and 0 ~1 spells, but on more developed TH9~10 bases i usually need to use all the drags and 2+ spells to guarantee the DE and the trophies, if possible.
I got as close to 10,000 de as I could by raiding with giants, goblins and archers. I got to about 9,000 and gemmed the rest
When I was th7 i used the 450 gems for getting 1250 trophies for half the DE and the other 5k by going with giants and archers on 400 DE+ basesQuote:

I gemmed it. Once I got to TH8 getting to lvl 5 was pretty easy, lvl 5 BARCH makes a world of difference.
I like the mass dragon army compared to barch when trying to get your BK up to lvl 5 at TH7. Like others have said, snipe your way up to Crystal 3 at minimum. The loot bonus will give you DE there.
My army composition consist of, 9 lvl 2 dragons, 20 lvl 4 archers, a BK(if I have him), 3 lvl 4 lightning spells and archers/wizards for CC troops. It's important that you have all your barracks up to lvl 9 so you can train multiple dragons quicker and have 200 slots in your army camps. Make sure your base is near max out and leave your TH outside to attract trophy hunters.
So once your in Crystal League, snipe the outside TH's with archers and leave. If you find a base with 1ks+ of DE, zap one of the AD's and place your dragons in a position where they can travel to the core because that's were all the loot is usually protected. Dragons can make it to the core before all of them die if you can give them a good path by zapping out an AD that's in the way. I average 1ks+ of DE per raid with this strategy.
In the end i found sniping TH to gain trophies while also sniping exposed drills and zapping the storage, i could gain small amounts of DE over time just with an all archer army.
I did find one raid with full maxed DE drills just exposed and ended up with over 2K DE from it.

Barched with heals in g3. Looked for minimum 500 de and for full drills on the outside. Can do quite a few attacks in a short amount of time.
