Update normally roll around Finland's noon time, so around 10am - 2pm in Finland... But I've checked each update and they all released Tue-Fri, hopefully they will release it today (Monday)

Anyone believe there will be any updates requiring gold for th9? Just finished maxing my gold, collectors still boosting too, but after going through the sneak peeks again, doesnt show any TH9 gold upgrades.
Pretty stoked for this update, but I have to say it. The new arch towers look awful! Ive been sitting at lvl11 for a while now because I cant stand the appearance modifications that they did for lvl12, and now that there was hope for redemption with lvl13, they look even worse!!! Now I don't wanna upgrade my towers at all :(
On the same subject, I feel the same way about the lvl8 mortars. How can you go from having something that looks so badass (lvl7), to this tacky bedazzled looking hunk of metal??? The only appealing thing about it is the damage output, and that's not enough to make me want to upgrade them.

Wow that archer tower is hideous. It "clashes" with everything. I'm not one to harp on looks a lot but it is that bad. You'd think they'd design it to go along with the Th10 motif, which almost nothing does, but no they went way out of left field.
I wonder what would happen if this happened on android's side..
A lot of the new features they are releasing are great, but it's really the design aspect that is failing hard right now. They really need to do something like have a poll to vote for different design options so we don't end up with big heaping eyesores that are the max mortars and arch towers.
I can't wait until the new update comes out. I'm sure the new troops, new levels for barbs & archers will be good, new Town Hall, and new defence levels will be very efficient

i think the new towers look sweet. dont blame me for having better taste. hopefully this is trending to the new colorway. that thing looks stately. if the peasants would rather keep the other ones then so be it.
But... but... there are 3 archers, but 1 arrow. What do the other 2 do? Cheer the shooter with pom poms?
If you look carefully, all 3 archers shoot. They just take turns.
I know I will get quite a bit of hate, especially from my fellow TH9 and TH10s, but hear me out.
Sure, you have put in a huge amount of effort to make those walls, raiding for gold painstakingly and finally being able to gather enough to upgrade a single wall. Now, with this update, people previously below you are going to reach your level so much easier and they do not have to put in that amount of effort. I hear you, unfair. But think about it this way more in terms of game mechanics instead of fairness. Do you expect CoC to continue making updates for new walls for TH11 and TH12 in the future? Yes. So if gold is still the only currency to upgrade walls, would you still spend 8 million on a wall upgrade? Furthermore, walls now are slowly gonna get devalued since new levels troops are coming, and that includes wallbreakers. CoC isn't over like how some people are exaggerating, they can easily balance it out with a level 7 wallbreaker with a good increase in their wall damage. For those people who still want gold for upgrading walls only because you are SO hardworking, would you be able to stand a total of upgrading possibly 275 walls (275x8million)? Don't forget Hogs that jump OVER your walls, and the improved JUMP spell.
Come on, when the dust settles, maybe what SC is trying to do here is make the competition depend less on walls and more on the actual good old basic gameplay such as where you deploy the troops and stuff. Let's all just wait for the next update and leave the current version on a happy note.

They should've made th 11 if they're adding new troops and defense. Ionno, but a well built th 10 pretty much was OP for any lower th to attack as it stands (and don't give the whole it should be...a maxed th 7 can do well against a strong, maybe even maxed, th 8, and a strong-max th 8 can do well against a 9...but discos and no freeze put th 10 leagues above the rest, especially with an extra cannon and AT). Adding AT 13 and lvl 7 troops really put th 10 over the top and it's us th 9's who will bear the brunt of this. At least if it were th 11, there would be some resolve knowing they'd have to go after th 10's.
So what is the end? Today there is an update?
good luck finding elixir in your upcoming raids. I personally will be using up every resources before I log off.
And WHYYY do I care about the games future? I'm not in that position but casual players care about showing off and comparing with others close to them. Who cares about the "future" of coc... Have fun while you are here the whole world may burn the next second for all

I agree pretty much with all of this, th11 would be great but I don't think it's coming.
The main problem going up against th10s is always the inferno tower (neither heal or tanking is very effective against infernos set multiple). Freeze is the balance for infernos. Simply making spell factory 5 available to th9 players would go a long way to making it possible for a th9 to take on a poor th10. That may mean that there needs to be a tweak with the number of spells available, but there are ways of doing that. Eg. putting the completed spells in the town hall and making the number of stored spells limited by th level.
with the addition of hounds
we'll see more air troop comps in "high-level" attacks
walls would be obsolete in those situation
I think the update's "timing" is pretty fair
When you get to town hall 10 u cant live off collectors u must attack storages about 50% of the time minimum the issue is town hall 10 is already awfully painful and to reduce half of our loot sheesh i wont be surprised if many of us quit including me. there's an increase in difficulty and making it feel like a job.
high high time for th11 to emerge. what more upgrades are there to put in th10? seriously maxed th10 is far too much than a th9, as compared to a maxed th9 to a maxed th8
Super Cell made collectors bases a lot harder to find not so long ago. With this new update, collector bases will be in even higher demand because it will be the only way to get a decent amount of elixir using cheap troops. So unless super cell makes collector bases easier to find, we are screwed..

I don't care that people can get walls easier what I hate is elixer is going to be rarer so I am going to be forced to use cheaper armies and resist using spells

TH9 attacking TH10 is SUPPOSED to be harder than TH10 attacking TH10. Giving lvl 5 spell factory to TH9 would be absolutely ridiculous and would totally unbalance the game.
Want freeze spell? Upgrade to TH10. No? Then realize there is a TH level above you, and it is SUPPOSED to be more powerful than TH9.
It shouldn't be easier, but every update makes it increasingly harder. Also, miss me with the loot is bad at th 10, raid th 9's for a 10% penalty, farm the same way everyone pretty much farms - 1 th down or a weak th at your level. Sorry, but two levels for pekka, a new spell, two discos, even better farming troops, larger camps, max drag and wiz, a third x-bow, another tesla level, and extra AT level in addition to having a 7th AT And 6th cannon (while also having more mines/drills/collectors) th 10 already had a far bigger advantage than any other th has one step above the previous (i.e. 6 to 7, 7 to 8, 8 to 9), at this point, th 11 needed to be added.
People will still saving up for research and abandoned base will still be around and I think we will find more abandoned base from people who quit because they don't like the update. People dump gold on wall today and yet we can still farm it. I don't see why it will become rarer.
Thats exactly the problem. Now we need to deduct elixir costs from total loot intake to calculate our profit.
I can make it work for me quite nicely with BARCH but we've lost something with the big attacks now being uneconomical.
I see a lot of talk on the forums about nothing having changed but I don't believe those people have really thought through the gameplay implications for many of the heavier, storage raiding farming comps. Most armies that mix in even tier 2 units and spells are now to expensive to use for farming.
th9s have the option to farm th8s. Th10s, on the other hand,have to deal with xbows/aq/4th gold storage etc. at the very least, and often have to take on their own level to make any gold.
If you think it's easier at th10, consider how much harder it is to 3 star a th9 (what with the gold storages being spread out) than it is to 3 star a th8.
my 0.02.
Pros: wall upgrading happens faster, if you are a fastener and maxed all upgrades and are stuck on walls, you can actually do it with both gold and elixir so you can spend your elixir, less elixir will be stolen from you as you have spent more of it now for wall upgrades.
cons: you can barely steal more elixir, weaker players will reach you easier, therefore your 250 Lego wall achievement would be like a smaller deal, you are probably gonna run low on elixir.
this is what I think, if you have any more cons and pros about this situation, feel free to post them on this thread.
p.s. Steal as much elixir you can before the update, not much elixir will be left by then.
Most farming armies aren't three starring a strong base one step down regardless. Th 10 has 25 more troop space (20 in camps and 5 in castle) and a freeze spell, if you can't get 75% of the loot with those advantages, you kinda suck at farming. X bows are laughable on lvl 6 giants (even the mighty lvl 3 (max for th 9) bows :rolleyes: don't stop them). Ant Let's not act like every th 9 is some masterminded maxed out base :rolleyes: Especially when it comes to farming.
and I easily get 200k from th 8's and have seen whats available to th 10's when they attack me (over 200k anytime i cross 2.5m which is like all the time), you don't need to take on th 10 to make good gold, stop
Going from TH8 to TH9, you get six new defensive buildings, plus 25 extra walls.
Going from TH9 to TH10, you only get five new defensive buildings, and zero extra walls.
TH9 currently gets 12 troop upgrades (13 if you include unlocking witch, 14 if you include unlocking hound).
TH10 currently only gets 8 troop upgrades, and unlocks zero new troops.
You have nothing to cry about.
Yea its a double edged sword, dual resource upgrade means less available resource to loot.
There'll be a brief spike in wall upgrades then forum will fill with no loot spam threads.

I find this as a con - Elixir is more common, therefor a big target. Eventually, if everyone wants to use Elixir, elixir will end up like the gold resource.
Power troops such as dragon pekka wiz golem >>>> the two dps an archer gets or the oh so useful +12 heals of the ever so intelligent healer :rolleyes:
And while the x-bows may be scary to an early th 8, discos trump an extra at and wiz tower (x bows as well) and are unstoppable without a freeze, which clearly isn't available to any other th.
Again, im not arguing th 10 needs to be a cakewalk for those below, my point is that the continued advantages being unlocked at th 10 are pointless when th 10 is already leagues ahead of other th's. SC needs to stop being cheap, hire a few more developers and just put th 11 in place, continuing to add even more advantages to th 10 is dumb, plus they're creating a bigger mountain to have to climb should a th 11 ever come about.
Con, farming for elixir will be even harder, which it's already hard when saving for th 9 and 10 troop upgrades.
Here are the reasons why there will not be a elixir loot problem.
My Assumption
1. People will at least have 800K in their storages; and usually good farmers tend to have at least 1M Elixir. Every clasher I have met and played with usually have that much even after all the upgrades. This is to ensure that they can farm later.
Elixir loot available at 1M for different TH's (Conservative estimates for minimal elixir in storages)
a. TH7 - 170 K
b. TH8 - 140 K
c. TH9 - 120 K
d. TH10 - 100 K
Cost of walls beyond level 6 (to upgrade with elixir)
Level 7 - 200 K
Level 8 - 500 K
Level 9 - 1 M
Level 10 - 3 M
Level 11 - 4 M
The high cost of walls especially beyond level 8 will mean that people will not be able to use them very fast.
I think people will use elixir to upgrade walls when they are completely done with other elixir based upgrades from labs, army carmp etc. The elixir upgrade will only come into effect after the players have nothing to do with elixir.
I am sure people won't put 1 M elixir into the wall when they have tons of upgrades left at lab/army camp. Yes it will have an impact with TH7/TH8 but I really doubt if people will be able to upgrade walls beyond level 8 as easily as people are thinking as of now. Yes, it will speed things up but No there will not be elixir shortage.

Is the update today normally it's around this time and I'm up with other addicted clashers who are just as excited about it as I am.

My energy has been and will be focused on troop upgrades/deference upgrades over walls.
Once everything is maxed out I"ll make walls my b*tch and double team them with both elixir and gold.
So anyone with my mindset will have loot on offer as we're always saving for expensive upgrades.
I think this upgrade will definitely have its consequences on elixirs available. This game is not about good farmers i think arounf 15% of the clashers in CoC actually are good farmers and the bread butter of these good farmers are the remaining 85% of the clashers. The 85% clashers will definately use the elixir to upgrade their wall which in turn will mean low resources available.
Most TH 9& 10's are going to be farming to upgrade their Dark Barracks. The shortage if elixir will be down to these two things. TH8's will probably be able to dump their elixir - but this is fairly short lived in my opinion.
I dont think it is going to make much difference either - possibly people barch to upgrade their walls to the max.... But if it involves hitting storages to get resources then you could just be making back what you pay out on armies to get the resources.
Pointless post. A single inferno tower is more of an upgrade then every extra defense you get from th8 to th9. You are all missing the point. No body is saying that th9 needs to be equal to th10 but the advantage th10 has is huge. When you are th10 you are untouchable from any other town hall other than your own. At th9 you have to worry about th10 th9 or even some th8s attacking you. The gap is already huge between the two ths and now supercell just keeps making it even bigger. But it's understandable. Most gem buyers are already th10 and that's all they care about.

Its tough to farm a really strong th9 still, but 10 SHOULD be that strong. If youve pumped enough hours or money into it to have a max th10 it should be that good.
Cant tell me that th8s arent a joke once you have your AQ and lv6 troops.
Only bit that annoys me is that a premmie 10 with poo defs but 2 multi infernos is very difficult to storage loot with small troops.
Just suck it up and make the jump.
But that is exactly when people need to use barch & other cheap armies .... when they have no or little elixir.
If you are going to get to storages you need a stronger army - many people here say they can reach storages by balloonion.... But how much elixir profit is that per raid when u add in a few spells? Dont get me wrong - it all adds up - but enough to upgrade walls in a fast- ish time at higher levels ? I'm not so sure

@Supercell: just create a thread in Announcements forums to let us know the date of new update, your one of the worst company I ever seen.
Its takes 76 million to max your Infernos and 3 xbows in th10, thats 1 month of hardcore farming especially for someone new to th10 like me. I really dont see a reason why a th9 base should be able to clean my base up,
Like in th9, when u upgrade all your defenses twice... with archer towers, cannons going up 2 levels, imagine a th8 guy destroying it? It just wont make sense
My bad - I guess going to Master 2 with my medium th9 only came from hitting th9 and exposed th... NOT. Many th 10 bases are more than hard to hit, true. But in Crystal leagues there are many players who went th 10, bought infernos and thinks that makes them impossible to hit.
Point is - a good th 9 player can hit many th 10 players with those infernos.
