Release TH11 already!! :D
I'm a hardcore farmer i have 1.6 billion GG with 201 LVL 10 walls can u imagine how i feel now how much time work effort and Money i put to steal this much gold if i could upgrade wall with elixir i would have use half of that gold by now don't u release supercell how u break ppl heart and motivation and excitement to the game while new ppl now can catch us by using half effort and work and loot ...
i want to quit the game so badly now i swear to god :(
PLz PLZ i beg you supercell make this wall update for the period of time like months even not permanent
Lets pretend that I haven't already farmed all legos and 156 lava walls for a moment. Let's pretend I'm super excited for this update so that I can actually do so now... How about all the players above me...who already have?? How about those guys that spent hours a day working on something to differentiate them from the crowd and the average as the elite farmers of the game?
I am now a th10 with the walls mentioned above. I upgraded my town hall last week. For the previous FOUR MONTHS my elixir vats were completely full with nothing to spend it on while I did walls. I would be done with lavas and I would be on to zaps by now....
So how am I going to be compensated for my hard work? With a reduction in the value of my walls. :( Because now, they aren't impressive anymore. Walls were what distinguished the elite players from the great players. And now, what is there? All that work.... Gone...
Thanks Supercell,
Wompy
All this petty arguments....and this is just the sneak peeks!....lol...I wonder what will happen when the 'feedback' thread arrives....
Like Zachuva said...there are more goodies to come...
I've already explained why I believe this makes sense from a business (and somewhat of a player) perspective. This helps increase the game's longevity by encouraging new players to continue on with the game (through the advantages I outlined earlier in the thread). This may not be a short-term financial winner, but increasing the lifespan of the game is an enormous benefit, and I see this as a part of that.
And from the players' side, let's not make this out to be a unanimous condmenation from the players. The forums are biased towards high levels compared to Clash's overall population, and even here there is a fairly big split on opinions. Some people actually like it.
Given that even the hero changes (which received far far greater condemnation than this) haven't severely impacted the game, and are looking like a winner in the long term, this doesn't seem to something that will cause the level of disruption that people are predicting. The game will be fine, even if not all players like it.
Equal access? Tell me how someone with all level 7 walls now and someone with all lvl 10 walls now could be considered as having equal access? I'd be interested in your reasoning. Wall grinding was annoying yes, it had to change yes. This only made it easier to catch up for people with lower level walls in comparison to the people with higher level walls.
How can the hog nerf and the royals nerf be considered unfair while this can't be considered unfair? I think they are equally unfair. Heroes and hogs were weakened exactly the same for everyone, with walls it is exact the opposite. The more high level walls you have the less advantage you get out of this update.
An expensive car will rarely drop in prices that instead of being able to buy it with money people can now grab the same amount of rocks as the government now says that the exchange rate or rocks to money is 1 to 1. That is exactly what is happening. People can use rocks and money while others could only pay it with money. Value of walls hasn't changed, the payment method has.

A couple hundred are complaining. Meanwhile millions are content. You only hear the unhappy ones though as is usual in life.
Yayyayaayay
Sucks for them, but this update was NEEDED.
I don't know if I like this or not. My question is how and if it will fix the current farming problems?
I have the same feeling OP.....but I don't care to be active anymore so yea, I am a lazy casual player now.
My only concern is that we wont be able to find as much elixir now people are using into walls.
But im excited anyway for the update.
Now we can't even farm elixir!! Great Supercell!!:D:D:D:D:D
When will this update be coming out?
I can't believe walls will cost elixir now *facepalm* Why... Just why... Oh well. Good for me, I can get all skulls in a week and will never have to buy gems again. Thanks Supercell.
I just hope they make a TH11 quick with level 12 walls that are more expensive... Because otherwise, this is a big joke of an update...
There are trade offs every update, even I felt angry when my friend built his teslas for 1 day, whereas it took me 2 days. Older players also have an advantage, we got to use the Upgraded stuff before the other guys. Lets not complain.
The bright side to all this is that you can tell stories to your clan mates and to global that you did your legos and lavas pre-update.
I think this is a good update for all TH9s and below and for TH10s that have maxed out their troop, camp and barracks. I am fortunate because as a TH10, other than my last pekka lvl upgrade, I will no longer have a need for elixir.
Okay in the new sneak peek Marika said there will be an option to upgrade walls w/ elixir. This is really unfair to the people who farmed lv11 and/or lv10 walls. Supercell should give these people badges or something significant next to their name meaning they have farmed walls before the update.
A note: Love that supercell gave an option. With wars, I barely have elixir to train a pekka.

Does the longevity of a game increase when you allow players to get walls twice as fast? Seems to me that this is exact an attempt to make the game finish faster.
You seem surprised people actually like it.
I gemmed my queen from level 18 to 30. I think I am one of the few of my clan whom didn't ask for a refund from apple. I don't think it can get more disrupted than people asking their money back...

I guess my comment will be lost, this is obviously attracting a big crowd;). I do hope people hold back until the whole update is revealed but i cant see that happening. Anyway nice sneak peek, look forward to the next one.
Guys...so far almost every aspect of updates have been aimed towards high level players. It seems to me that SC is trying to help out the little guy this time around. This game will not die....that's the most ridiculous claim I've heard. If you want to grow your business, no matter what industry you're in, you try to cater to ALL your customers. Bravo SC....great job!!!!
To all you guys out there who farmed lvl10 and lvl11 walls before the update, and have incredibly big gold grabs, don't get disappointed. You'll always have the respect of the community ;-)
However, it seems like a feature that the 90% of the clashers will appreciate. Personally i just finished skulls, so I don't mind at all being able to spend my stupid elixir on walls as I progress on the game..
I just hope this doesnt effect the economy even more
I'm sure their minis/alts will welcome the change.
And fair is a place where you get cotton candy. Where is my cotton candy?:D
This is amazing, all the crybabies can go put their storages, mines and pumps in a corner for people who are going to be farming walls :D
Excellent! Finally, some use for the perpetual near eight million and change elixir, sitting in storage, and the tens of millions that vanish into the ether, doing nothing but adding to the EE total. With 177 Lego walls to go, this makes reaching TH 10 as a fully maxed TH 9, in one year, much more doable.
This is a total game changer, but much better than last update. Great job SC
I'm not going to tell you that you are wrong, because you are entitled to whatever opinion that you want. And TBH, EVERY update carrys with it a side for it and a side against. But here is my response to your comment.
1. Players are either going to max their base or they won't. I seriously believe that the amount of players that max their walls will not increase dramatically. It will still be a grind, and the vast majority of players will skip it for the next TH. At TH 10 there will likely be more upgraded walls the higher you go, but there will still be more less developed bases in the gold and crystal leauges, regardless.
2. It will still be a grind. Let's think about this, if we can now use both resources, logic says there will be less goo in the game. This makes it harder to farm, and in turn satisfies the collectives need for a truly tough process.
3. High level walls will still be prestigious. This change will not negate the fact that ANY player, regardless of farming method worked their tail off for the walls. You are still more likely to get skipped and it doesn't matter if you farmed gold or goo. Oh, and by the way, nobody can tell the difference (or if you gemmed them) unless they come back to your profile and look. And even if they do, they will not care either way.
In the end, I think this is a great update. I couldn't be happier. It is still gonna be tough to farm walls, and no matter what people say that won't change. I am sorry you feel slighted that you worked hard to farm gold for lavas, but you will be happy when you can focus all your gold on those disco towers and maxing other defenses. And it could have been worse....they could have dropped the price by half.
My issue with the last few updates unless they throw in a curve ball is:
1.) gemmers who spend loads of money either gain nothing (walls) or lose out (heroes - although debatable)
2.) Farmers who spend loads of time on the game lose out (walls and heroes)
3.) people who spend little time or money on the game gain from it (walls)
So should I just not play for a year, come back and find everything is half price?
I think someone mentioned (As a guess) that you can choose what resource to upgrade but 1a was really unexpected
Thank you SC! I just finished my last elixir upgrade and would've been full on it for at least two months, but now I can finish my legos and lavas much sooner than expected. Lovin the new update already ;)
Twice as fast? That figure is clearly not going to be reflected in reality, but even if it was it actually won't let people "finish" the game much faster. Building upgrades still take tons of time, it's not like this is allowing oeople to finish overnight. The hyperbole people are using to describe this change is being taken as serious points, but it shouldn't be.
As for heros, again, that was a short term problem, but for long term gain. It was disruptive at the time, but it has failed to slow the game's momentum overall.
zach your not making any sense, this update in no way closes the gap between old and new players. Many old players don't have MAX walls themselves, only very selective few have farmed lvl 11 walls. This update will only make getting MAX walls easier for EVERYONE not just new players.
What will close the gap between old and new players is reduction in upgrade times. Start with the Tesla and then the Air Defense and then you will be achieving the objective of shortening the gap between the new and old players.
Getting LEGO walls was a huge achievement for me and now this achievement just diminished. I can see why this update will make a lot of new players happy, especially those who have the aim to get those high level walls, but this will only be short-term. In the long term, we will see possibly double the number of people with high level walls we have currently. Farming storages will become difficult, people will need to take bunch of wall breakers and possibly a jump spell to help farm storages. At a time when collector bases are at an all time low, this was a rediculous move by SC.
SC IF YOU WANT MORE PEOPLE TO GET THOSE WALLS OR CLOSE THE GAP BETWEEN NEW AND OLD PLAYERS THEN:
- Make collector bases more available
- Introduce lvl 12 Mine
- Reduce or eliminate the search costs
- Increase the league bonus
What I don't understand is SuperCell keeps telling us they hide the inactives because they are worried that people will max out their base too quickly and quit. So now they are making it twice as fast to finish upgrading walls?
The problem isn't the amount of gold it takes to upgrade. The problem is the next button.
However, I still will reserve my final opinion on this until I see all of the update. Maybe they will do something to fix the nexting problem.
hey guys!!! join my clan its named
future king
only 2 members are there but i need to start clan war so i need more players..
anyone can join my clan small player or big player no worries!!
Sounds like one of the best updates yet. I've been doing walls for months, so this is really going to help. It's going to be a lot harder to get elixir, though.
You personally know how grueling the hunt for farming walls are, you should be the happiest of the clashers to see this feature fixed. I am almost maxed th 10 with lv 6 walls, cuz they used to be ridiculously expensive. Not everyone has that kind of free time.
I think we're going to have a bigger update feedback thread with more complaints if Supercell doesn't do something about this..(Some GOOD sneak peeks)
Liking this update!
so far:rolleyes:
Chief Pat said on twitter, is it true?
@ChiefPat: BREAKING NEWS: New level 12 walls that cost 8,000,000 gold!
Taking the costs of armies and nexting into consideration, my conclusion would be that the expenditure on both would be equal.
Upgrading buildings is one thing, but that doesn't change at all. Walls, however, the sign of prestige and dedication to this game, can now be done twice as fast as you can use two resources instead of one to get them...

I can see the logic behind allowing us to spend elixer on walls since because of walls there is a huge imbalance on what can be upgraded with gold. This obviously evens things out. Although now I would imagine this will make finding good loot targets much more difficult. Not sure whether to be happy or sad to be honest.
Many old players are ahead of new players in terms of walls, doesn't matter if they aren't totally maxed. The advantage applies to every wall not already upgraded. If it wasn't, there would be no reason for high levels to complain and we'd all be cheery today. :p
This is definitely part of the equation, absolutely. SC has been doing this for a year now, and now they have extended this logic to walls. Walls don't have "upgrade time" to reduce, so the only thing they can do is change how they are purchased, hoping that it takes players less time to finish their walls after the change. It's the exact same thing, but the technical difference just has to do with how walls are upgraded (ie. instantly).Quote:

This contradicts the first part of your quote. If the acheivement is diminished and people will now get high level walls, that supports everything I have been saying as well as most of the (reasonable) complaints.Quote:

This is a great update for casual players which are the majority who play this game.
The previous wall upgrades were ridiculous requiring you to dedicate your life to playing this game and raiding in order to upgrade your walls. Now the upgrades seem much more reasonable if you can use your elixir.
For the people complaining about elixir shortage, I honestly don't think it's going to change much.
Most players will now upgrade all their collectors to max in order to take advantage of this, and everyone still has to store elixir in their storages for high lab and troop upgrades.
For TH9 and above, most clan war attacks use dark elixir, not normal elixir...
I am happy with this Sneak Peak. Thank you Supercell! ;)
This game is a live entity, constantly evolving. If it wasn't, it would be less exciting to me. I'm a little nervous about elixir being harder to get, but I'll just have to change strategies as I have in past updates. Will I get skulls faster? Sure. But I won't magically get them overnight, as I can't blow all my elixir and still expect to make good armies, and neither will anyone else. Lvl 9 and higher walls will still be an elite accomplishment for people with lots of time or lots of cash. You're entitled to be upset if you like, but ultimately this game is about having fun, more so than having a sensation of elite-ness. Enough of my rant, on to the next sneak peek!
Having been a th9 both pre and post loot nerf I've seen first hand the change in consistently finding gold in particular and the ease in which it was acquired. So I say to anyone who did most of their wall farming pre nerf consider this a leveling of the playing field.
The only good news I can see about this wall update is that people will find it easier to max their bases. I said easier, and this is directed at people who are currently th10s with max defences but are still farming for max zaps so they still have something to work for, not th7/8 who still have pink walls.
Which in turn would mean sc would have to work a lot harder in the future to provide faster upgrades before their really long time/hardcore players, who are really the people who spend the most time in the game, lose interest after they've maxed everything.
For those that have farmed high level walls, the update will not, as if by magic, reduce the utility of the walls that they have enjoyed in the past or in the future. This is a bit different than the hero nerf. Now, if only, the update would include the ability to upgrade heroes for normal elixir...
Right now my wall upgrades cost 1 mil each. Guess around how much max gold and elixir I will carry during this time? Then let's extrapolate this to those with lower wall requirements and then tell me how this is better for farming
Wow. People are still finding the most idiotic reason to complain. They give you something good and now you complain it's not good enough.
This is a good update.
It makes total sense, it just sucks that I've been wasting gold upgrading my walls all this time when I could have focused on defenses instead. Lord knows I've had plenty of elixer laying around...
Oh well, Atleast in a few months I can say " I remember when maxing walls was hard.. And when maxing walls meant you were a good farmer..."
I actually think it will be faster than 2x as fast. Think about it this way, right now I'm th10 and all my gold upgrades are literally close to the 8 mil max that I can hold. I basically have put my walls on hold so I can max defenses. Now every time one of my builders comes available all that max elixer I have will be dumped into walls so I will be able to do 2 lavas about every other day instead of none for weeks.
I don't neccessarily think this is a bad thing. But we will have to see how it affects that next button. Because right now the only thing I want out of the game is to hit the next button less.
People act like lv 11 walls cost 1000 gold and everybody will have it within the next few weeks. they're still expensive as hell and hard to get.
Hm....
I actually like the row thingy, but I kinda feel ♥♥♥♥♥ed out of two weeks, cause now that can walls cost elixer, it takes 1/2 of the time to farm them.
The replay thing is cool
This would have been great!!!.... 2 YEARS AGOOOOOO WHEN THE GAME CAME OUT!!!! ..... My walls are almost maxed out now....How is this fair in any way? I haven't had a use for elixir in 1/2 the time playing this game........ Another huge let down for us long term players
To be fair, this logic also goes in the other direction. Different groups have different interests, and that's perfectly fine. :)
Yes, but not everyone is in that situation. It may be 2x as fast for some, but maybe only 1.1-1.3x as fast for others. Actually I would be surprised if it even goes down for some people, especially those who have lots of elixir upgrades to do. Elixir will become more scarce, and I could see some (not many) struggles with it. My point is I don't think the average rate will approach 2x.
Lets be honest....good farmer just means, attacks more lol i have a bil GG and farming isnt really an art lol yes some are better then others, but not based on GG.
I would say a good farmer like i class myself is just someone that has to much time on their hands...
At least with elixir for walls now i only really have to farm/boost half as much as i can now use all loot now...
SC are saving me gems....and i only have to play half the time for the same out come...well done at shooting your own foot SC lol.
I'm confused, how will this affect the economy? Yes people won't be sitting on 8mil lix, but people will also not just target the gold storages to get billions of gold to do their walls. Doesn't that mean it'll balance out more?
Also the people with lvl10 or 11 walls, the picture painted is that there millions of elixir available but no gold. How did you manage to farm your walls then? We know it takes an ungodly amount of gold to do that.
I'm not saying it's the most brilliant update ever and I get why the people with 8b gg are upset, but I don't think it'll spell the end of the world. And I still think the player with a th10 and pink walls will not put millions of elixir into the walls either, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make.
I don't think this will improve the in game economy.
I hope they increase league bonuses or add more collector levels or I expect loot to get even worse post update.
Show us the new troop! Add something new to the game SC!
This "update" will destroy farming as a higher level player, this making upward progress impossible. I spend about 1-2m of elix a day on attacks, and my elix currently goes up consistently. Now my elix will burn out fast, unless i drop down below 1200 to farm people who haven't hit level 6 walls. This degrades my game play and theirs.
Please supercell i will go buy gems tomorrow if you reconsider this.
Also it is not internally consistent within the game universe, IMO.
I can see the gripes, and the economy (all elix being dumped) remains to be seen, but i like it.
Yes, those that have gone on perma boost missions for high lvl walls are going to be annoyed. Not as much as they were with heroes.
Im a maxed th10, 200 lv9 walls and 50 lv10s. This change is going to make me actually want to play. The lv10 wall grind has seriously stunted my play time, just too long and too dull. With 600m of just gold to go, have been really struggling with motivation to complete a seemingly endless task.
I do fear for anyone thats just moving up a TH, because i can see the elix grind becoming very difficult, and also feel for those that farmed all walls already, but being as im very active and still 600m short, your play habits were probably pretty unhealthy.
I think this idea is aimed at the what i perceive to be growing amount of max or near max th10s, that just like me were becoming bored with the time sink of walls just being that bit too long.
You are right. I am just tired of seeing so much negativity. In a complex game it is very hard to tell what the right thing to do would be from the game makers perspective. There is no right answer to fix any issues that people have. Fixing one will inevitably create another. The only thing we can really ask of SC is that they keep moving forward and trying to improve. And that is what I think they are doing. SC is not a bunch of idiots, they know that the best way for their game to be successful is to make a good gaming experience for the most amount of people.
I think that people are correct that this will put a strain on the elix available. But I am sure that SC has thought of this and hopefully they have something in mind (even if not right away) that will counter act this. I think this is a good update and only hope that they have taken proper steps to balance the effects it will have.
Elixir has always been in abundance, because there has never been a place to dump it.
After this update, elixir could be as rare as gold is today (or rarer).
In honest truth, as a farmer, this update upsets me, as mentioned by my fellow farmers before. You can now achieve our levels in a shorter time and it makes all our hard work having the best and most balanced bases much less worthwhile. The ability to spend either currency on a wall makes them easier to get, thus it decreases their value.
At level 6+ walls you are probably at a point in your game where you can either farm and attack to get what you need, and if your focusing on one, you always end up getting a decent amount of the other. In example, I could attack 5 bases or wait about 2.5 days and I'd get enough gold to make some decent upgrades to walls. Now that I am producing elixir and gaining it from attacks, I essentially am changing the idea of upgrading 2-3 walls occasionally to 5-8 walls at least. Farming becomes useless as a attack campaign over the course of a few days with only a few defensive losses could upgrade a significant portion of the walls, compared to now where the same portion of walls would take more than a week.
In essence, walls now will be plentiful and bases will come together easier, making attacking harder. So, Supercell should either make them much more expensive, make troops hit harder, or walls have less health. Without these I predict the common strategy will move towards more defensive bases or walled farming and decreased attacking. Not to mention the hero in a clan war who manages to blast through a tougher foe will be only a figment of your imagination.
Other adjustments need to be made to the game to balance this out, otherwise, Clash of Clans will fundamentally change, and not in a good way.
elix doesn't magically rain from the sky, has to come from somewhere either collectors/raiding or players gem'ing it
without elix you can't make armies to raid with, so you'll be waiting on your own collectors to make up for it or buying elix with gem's which most can't do
SC is shifting the burden on gold on to elix
before this update you could convert elix to gold via armies, now SC offer direct 1 for 1 conversion with walls
how many raids have you seen? where elix is plentiful, but barely any gold
now imagine raiding where both gold/elix are constantly ♥♥♥♥, how you going finance those armies?
This will help me with upgrading my walls to purple like I am currently doing and 1a sounds an interesting addition. Now better league bonuses, lvl12 collectors or a new loot system please otherwise there may be less loot because of the wall changes I don't mind which.
