Is the Lava Hound OP?
Probably not, considering that you'll probably need to be TH10 to use them.
Anyone who is whining and sobbing about dragon/hound attacks at the TH7 - TH9 levels, please slap yourself.

Bring out a better flying non supplemental troop like Shadow Dragon, Fire Imps, Quasits..

You ever tried using dragons against a decent th9 or th10 designs? Most of the time you'll have a hard time to get 2 stars, and the whooping 500k+ elixir doesn't deserve such low chances.
Lava hound will have over 3000 HP on lvl 3
As someone who loves dragons, I must say I am very surprised. I already found it quite easy to win with them, without needing to use DE. So I think there must still be something else. I will repeat a guess I had earlier and say there is one more sneak peak, a wizard hero who can't attack, and defends only air units buy throwing exploding rabbits at them. :confused::confused:
Edit: after watching chief pats video, I think they are meant to enhance gameplay at higher cups than me, so I will have to reserve my judgement till I need to use them.
Did we forget that a "hound" is a type of dog? Initial thought is it's not a creative troop and it's name is extremely misleading. Not impressed
Lava hound looks ok. I wonder how many housing space it is surely we can't be donating them to TH8's for CW....
AT 13 is ok. Slightly gutted that I finished AT1 12 a week or so ago. I thought I was done for a bit, oh well, looks like I need to get going.
This does make sense for town hall 9s+10s because mass dragon attacks are really hard with 4 air defences against you. Still, it's soooooo ugly. I thought it was going to be cool :( much disappoint

Seems to be tanky but have low dps this lava hound. So its main point is that it distracts fire and gives time to other air unit.
No one saw archer tower 13 coming because we just got 12 recently
I'm surprised at this troop. I was really expecting a much more creative troop more in line with the witch. Something that utilized an inferno tower to power up or something of hat nature. Oh well.

Im thinking the new tower upgrade is to accomodate the LVL 7 archers. so you'll likely have a lava-themed archer tower with the LVL 7 archers on top.
Here's hoping this also nets us a price reduction on at least the LVL 12 archer tower! Even dropping it from 7.5 mil to 7 mil flat would be nice as there are so many towers to upgrade

Well, air attacks at TH9+ needed a bit of a power up but i'm afraid now the aerial attacks will be too powerful.
How much HP do they have? Because i guess the Seeking Air Mine will play a huge role now...
And i'm afraid Archer Tower level 13 won't help much against them.
So yea, all bases will be prone to getting 2 starred easily now, since now you have to defend against Hogs, Gowiwi, Gowipe and now those fat flying dogs, together with Balloons,Dragons and Minions..

I was just saying a few days ago that currently it is very hard to 3 star a high level base with mass dragons... they are really only meant to get 2 stars. Perhaps a level 5 dragon might of been good, but nonetheless the Lava Hound will make for some interesting attacks and I'm sure we'll be seeing mass air raids used more often. Nice one SuperCell
come on marika dealing with dragons and balloons is hard enough,adding a troop that trgets air def isnt a smart way of solving dragon wars

Looks good though I am a little dubious about how they will work. A bit unsure why they should be available at TH9 as well, they already struggle to defend against air attacks as it is.

When you think about it, the Lava Hound isn't actually a good air tank. If the housing space is the same as a Golem, it should stay on the field longer. It just seems like it gets taken out too quickly (don't rage at me for saying that lol), and the damage it deals is so insignificant, that it doesn't help out that much. I'm a little disappointed lol. I'm still probably going to roll with just Hogs + Balloons.
The things I have seen so far from the Chief Pat video show that it has 30 housing space and can be upgraded to level 3.

if this is indeed 30 spaces each,then TH7-8 can't ever have it,and TH9-10 have no actual sucsses with drags,seeing as they have 4 really strong ADs,X-bowx,infernos,dragons are just too weak in th9-10 this will be a good balance for the higher levelsQuote:

Let's look at things from my perspective. I've booted longtime members who have been in my clan for more than a year because of war inactivity. I've made a lot of tough choices including booting two maxed TH10s because they kept missing wars. I have built a clan where 100% of members participate in war and we leave no points on the board. Not sure how this will affect air compositions though.
Minions are the big DPS units of the sky. Balloons are powerful, tank, and have high DPS - there just slow. Dragons again are somewhat tanky and also slow. What combinations will prove the most effective?

Well, air attacks but a new unit. Basically an Air Golem. Didn't see the air defense targeting thing coming, just no precedent for SC having that specific of a target
Vs Th9 I think these things will be a huge pain. They look like they sponge damage just like a golem, do damage about as well. Vs Th10, I am not sure if they'll be enough to make Air attacks competitive with ground attacks
The big DPS unit for the sky is actually the minion, followed by loons. Drags don't have good DPS. So I wonder if a pair of hound dogs, loons and minions will become the staple air attack. Basically the air equivalent of a GoWiWi attack.

As a Th10 player, I am not sure with ANOTHER archer tower upgrade if this will be enough though for air attacks to make a come back.
Still upgrading those seeking air mines now.

Those crying OP. Watch the video. There performance is hardly impressive. Not saying they won't be useful but there DPS is horrible. Their basically designed to get your loons to those AD quickly. There high (probably) housing space will also limit what support units you can use.
