Minions - probably great with these since the hound dog seems to be melee, that means it will dis distract those pesky wizard towers. But minions are still inferno bait

Balloons - again probably a good combination as loons take pretty significant damage trying to close in on those AD. But with 30 housing space and both targeting defenses it'll be different than wizards and golems


Dragons - I think they will continue to suck. VS th9 they might make a killer combo but Dragons are already great tanks with low DPS. Its not like dragons are the PEKKA to the lava hounds. Still a combination of all 3 of these troops may prove very effective.

My prediction

2-3 Dogs with 16-20 loons plus minions. Possible 2 dragons worked in.

Lets see...

3 Dogs - 90 Space

20 Loons - 100 space, total 190

2 Dragons -230...., lets put one in the CC here 210

15 Minions with another 7 in the CC

Hmm....

2 Dogs

20 Loons

2 Dragons

30 minions

Yup that sounds interesting with some rages and a freeze worked in. Dragons can deal with the CC, Loons, defenses, minion provide the DPS

Or

3 Dogs - 90 space

6 Dragons - 210 Space, put one in the CC... 190

25 minions plus 7 in the CC

That could be killer... maybe. But like I said dragons aren't big damage dealers. Still this should spank a base with infernos fairly easily with proper deployment and bad AD coverage

Very well put, I was thinking about the exact same comps. Looking forward to trying it, but it will take a while to max them. I expect 10 days for level 2 and 14 days for level 3. With DE costs too match. Which isn't helpful atm, since im doing heroes :mad: But I'm loving all the new doors this opens. With the raids I'm seeing today from the best of the war clans, this could be the beginning of airborn 3 stars... We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Leaders selecting who can go to war presents it's own set of cons. For example, a leader could abuse that power of selection to the wrong end. Wouldn't the leader just kick them out of the clan if they don't like someone? They already do that now if the person doesn't want to be in the war...

Since when were dragons not viable? They might not be the most powerful attack out there but they are one of the easiest to get 1-2 star. If anything the only reason why they might not be viable is due to the high cost.. I usually use them just to keep my storages low on elixir after completing all elixir items/upgrades on my th10. Although that changes in a few days and now I don't have to waste it on drag attacks.. Time to upgrade walls. Such a game changer.

Lots of clans don't participate anymore in clan wars. Just because your little clan does then great for you.
If you actually got out and visited some high lvl clans you would learn this but my guess is your a th08 that has a big mouth and thinks the world is your oyster.

We'll see. I don't use air troops myself but my clan does use them in wars. I want a new, dark troop which can be used broadly and effectively. This could be that troop, but insisting that it shouldn't written it off is just as unfair as insisting that it's a complete flop.

What I'm saying is the the initial, organic reaction suggests that this reveal is underwhelming to the majority of active players.

I agree that its underwhelming but its incredibly frustrating seeing 80% of the people on here whining for the sake of whining, and strangley enough it leads to threads like this which complain about that. Then what happens? The people who were crying about whatever (it's not exclusive to this troop by any means) start whinging yet again
