Supercell decided to inflate the market. If you raid 10 times for 300K gold and 300k elixir you could get one lvl 10 wall before this update. On top of that bigger armies will barely be used. Elixir is now spend on walls, hence people will now use loonions or low cost armies which is definitely putting cw in behind... Who can now spend 300k twice to get 2 times 2* in cw? The cost will be evened IF you win, if you don't you lose 500k elixir which is basically a lvl 8 walls. The risk of not getting war loot of a win versus just using 1* cheap armies is quite uneven to limit elixir expenditure is quite uneven.
How? I spend 700k on 2 gowipe armies and if I win I get 800k, but if I lose i get about 90k. Or I win 100k elixir or I lose 610k elixir... If I just use loonions it would be around 260k for 2 loonions armies. If we do the math again that would be 540k elixir extra when you win and just a limited loss of 170k when you lose.
Overall a horrible decision to keep players around. You punish the heavy players to sooth the slackers. You will, once again, cause mayhem in clans between people who want to reduce the expenses like above stated and people who insist on building (expensive) gowipe armies. This all because not the nominal, but the real value of elixir has flown through the roof because supercell felt like it.
