A little trick to keep your DE safe from zappers

Hi, so i have been using a little trick to keep my Dark Elixir safe from zappers and i thought i share it with you guys.

i'm TH9 and i have finished all my Elixir upgrades and i'm sitting on full storages all the time. Since I'm farming my town hall is outside all the time. But it takes 5-15 minutes until someone snipes my town hall and give me shield.

and the more time I'm shield-less the greater the chance of someone finding me and use 2-3 lightning spells on my DE storage. So i thought why not encourage people to snipe my town hall?
and i put an Elixir storage next to my town hall.

now it takes 1-2 minutes until someone comes snipes my town hall takes 90k elixir with it and gives me a shield.


i also checked my defense log and noticed that i haven't been zapped once in the past week. :D

Not a trick at all, just losing loot. Doesn't guarantee at all that they wont take your DE also. I would.

Also if you are sitting on max elixir and are not TH10 I suggest you upgrade the town hall. Elixir is important and it's pointless to just give it away when you can use it on needed upgrades on the next TH lvl.

Zapers would take your th your lix storage and zap your DE ;)

Nope. Lix upgrades < gold upgrades

Elixir upgrades are the most important. There is no doubt about this. The troop upgrades are the most important upgrades you can make in the game, and most of them require elixir. This game is based on offense. I raid at least 10 times more than my base gets attacked. Just because there are more gold upgrades doesn't mean they are more important.

Looking at the picture he posted it also seems like he is just doing his walls while sitting on a pile of elixir with all the defenses already max. I would go to TH10 no doubt.

Yes they would but by having the elixir storage there it means that another player is more likely to take his TH since there is free elixir. For instance, I would probably not bother with the TH snipe if I was farming, but if I get 80k free elixir, then it makes it worthwhile. I understand what the OP is doing and it sounds like it's working.

Being shield-less for 5 minutes means more people will find your village and may or may not zap you, so what can you do to make less people find your village? Get a shield faster.

and about going to th10. I want to max my th9 before upgrading (thanks for the suggestion)

What TH lvl are you? Just because you have a lot of elixir doesn't mean you should upgrade your TH. Each TH brings more than just new troop lvls. At TH10 especially, you have to raid in different ways to find the decent loot. If you upgrade your TH gold also becomes more difficult to get, so why would you only focus on elixir? Also he may be doing heroes and walls because they are important and time consuming and at TH9 your range you find loot in is more flexible.

TH10 lvl 110. It's important to max your defenses yes,, but beyond that just waiting on the walls and heroes is pointless. Upgrading the heroes is much faster at TH10 thanks to a new DE drill anyway unless you are a big time DE zapper.

The loot range for TH10 is really anything above 1900 and even though it's harder to actively raid loot due to the TH penalty it is infinitely easier to passively accumulate it due to the new collectors and people raiding you far less and far less successfully due to the inferno towers.

Upgrading heroes, I agree it's easier at TH10, but walls are much harder I have heard, but thats also what I think. Because you can still get good loot but not those 200/200 raids with barch, if you catch my drift. I also know that you can keep loot a lot better with the infernos though, so I guess it's a toss up really.

You misunderstood me I don't want to say that lix upgrades are less important than gold upgrades.

I just meant that gold upgrades are much more than lix upgrades at th9

I'm also almost done with lix just have giants to lvl 6 healer to 4 and jump to lvl2
But I have all my canons and all my ATs left to upgrade. And we don't have to talk about walls ;)

Came from a maxed th8 and in th8 there were much more troops/spells to upgrade then in th9

One does not simply snipe a townhall without zapping on DE, such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s..

I got the basic point behind your trick but the thing is to understand the thinking of TH snipers too.

Why do the TH snipers attack only the exposed TH?

Just to get up the ladder in trophy range/complete achievements/get to the masters and if they start getting DE (Elixir too now) as side-bonus, why won't they snipe more now :p

Been doing this since a month, but not for saving my DE depot from lightning spells. I use to farm mostly in gold 2 league and there are very few snipers there. It happened several times to log of and re-open the game few hours later without been attacked. So, when my gold storages are overflowing, considering the amount of TH10s that also farm there and could whip my as*, I use to encourage the snipers with an elixir storage right next my town hall. And it works quite well :rolleyes:

This is a good idea it gives mass people a reason to snipe you.

But hey, i only have lava walls left i'll finish those and start doing this again
