Certain Upgrade Costs are out of Balance. Please consider certain Revisions
I'm assuming there's a certain level of economics, more specifically supply and demand that goes into the costs/time in the game. If something was ridiculously priced or if certain resources were burned through more quickly than they could be produced, it would create chaos within the gaming world and that would be bad for business.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that certain short time promotions like the boost for 1 gem for 7 days and the recent 1/2 off on wizards is done with more than just to be cool with the masses, or rather it's done in part to boost or compensate for any area needing more attention.
For example, other than in my clan castle, to protect my base, I don't use wizards much for anything because their HP, cost, and time to train originally seemed a little out of balance compared to other troops. But now that they've dropped in training time and cost, it's a little easier to see a correlation in value to cost.
Now in the case of resources, the gem boost created a higher circulation of resources, in particular a rise in what started becoming harder and harder to find bases with a decent amount of gold.
If supercell would take a look at things like regular bombs, 1,000,000 in Gold at level 5 just feels ridiculous for a +8 in splash damage on a defense that has a trigger radius of 1 tile. I'm at TH8 and that will probably be the last upgrade I ever do on this game because the cost to value ratio is way off. I'd rather save the million for my walls. There's some others out there that I'm sure have looked at certain items and say hell no not worth it when it comes to choosing what to upgrade.
I just think the cost on certain things doesn't fit into the balance and that doesn't really benefit the player or the company. If someone tries to sell something that is way over priced, it doesn't benefit either party, because not as much will be sold as could be sold (at a reasonably reduced price) where both parties win.
