Institute an application process which weeds out the hoppers and kick out new recruits prior to wars until they have proven themselves.

SC is not going to institute a penalty or punishment that coerces people into staying in your clan and participating in your war. People have free will and leave for a variety of reasons, many of which are not deserving of punishment.

Even if they did do that, these members who are now forced to stay would most certainly undermine your war effort anyway. Did this not occur to you?

I'm sorry for being rude, but instead of locking members in your clan until its over, there are other options to avoid clan leaving during a war, maybe a fee.

So when you join a clan and find out they are a bunch of racist bigots, you now have to pay to leave? Never. People should be able to leave at any time for any reason, period.

It's up to the clan management to recruit quality members and create an atmosphere that inspires loyalty. This may mean that you actually build a good clan first, full of long time quality members who contribute, chat, donate, etc before going off to war.

I like this idea. There are clans which require everyone to attack, and if they dont, the obviously kick you. These clans are usually very active, and mature, with an older age requirement. And being a co-leader, this works, I recruit new people to replace the ones who dont attack, my clan makes it obvious that we are a WAR clan, and we farm aswell, war clan means, you go to war almost every other day. I didnt think a fee would be reasonable to someone's opinion to leave a clan anyways. Loyalty is key in a war clan.

I bet they have. However implementing one is non trivial. Keep in mind that an opt out feature wouldn't even solve this particular issue.

Please don't try to paint me as a monster who is against "free will" for the sake of your argument. I simply want a better system in place to deter people from doing this.

Preventing people from leaving wars does not necessarily affect free will. Leaving during a war is wrong because it negatively affects everyone else in that clan, and therefore should have consequences.

For instance, assisting in a murder has consequences. You don't hear murderers saying that they shouldn't be punished because they have free will. That is absurd.

Do you support murder dahimi?

Some people do not have time to set up or manage "application processes". Some of us need to work dahimi.

Do you need to run around catching murders before they happen dahimi? Where is this insane place you are from?

This is why I am proposing that Supercell takes action and sets up boundaries to stop these offenders dahimi.

This has nothing to do with free will.

Actually it does affect free will. The question is whether or not restricting free will in this instance is justified. It is not. Intent is important here and there is no way to determine the player's intent. It is not ok to punish folks for leaving what they consider to be a hostile environment. There is no way to apply a punishment or penalty of this nature in a fair manner.

What's absurd is trying to draw any comparison between me saying folks should be able to leave a clan at any time for any reason to murder. A better real world comparison would be whether or not I feel it's ok for someone to quit their job at anytime for any reason.

That's unfortunate that you don't have the time required in order to nurture a clan. Perhaps you should hand or delegate leadership responsibilities within your clan over to people who do have time for it.

Thankfully SC has granted a lot of freedom with regard to how people run their clan and how clan members participate within the clan. This is a good thing and hopefully will continue for the duration of the game.

In the above comments you suggest it does. It's just that in some cases free will should be curbed (such as murder...despite the ridiculous comparison) and in others it should not (freedom to quit ones job or game group).

This. Dont start after 3 members just joined... or check their war hero achievement when you accept them.
Again, restrictions like this are bad because they trap good people in bad clans, regardless of what the restriction was initially trying to fix/help. What if its a kid in an adult clan, or different timezone, farmer in a pushing clan. Plenty of legitimate reasons to not stay in the clan without needing to be trapped.
Also, as for a penalty, what if its a player going to a family clan to donate or to help out and give advice. Or donating clans that ask people to request and leave.
Sorry, as annoying as the leaving during war problem is, no solution on the forum will solve the issue and avoid putting good players in bad situations at the same time. And it would make a lot of things more inconvenient.
