Going to TH9 early

I have all purple walls, one mortar maxed, 1 wizard tower maxed, 1 cannon maxed, 0 archer towers maxed, all air defenses maxed, and teslas at level 4. Regardless, I started my upgrade to TH9 yesterday. As the leader of a good war clan who uses GoWiPe, I simply could not resist the temptation of the 20 extra army slots, the extra spell slot with the jump spell, witches, and the AQ. That's it for me, it's all about building a more effective GoWiPe army, and soon GoWiWiPe army. I mean X-bows are cool, but I want the offensive firepower. Plan is to stay here as a somewhat premmie TH9 and max out until going to TH10. I understand that moreso than with any other TH upgrade that it is more important to max TH9 before going to 10. Is this true?

What a stupid decision, you're going to need to make like 12M elixir just for xbow and army camps.
Anyway good luck taking a year or so maxing out.

The strategy of tjis game is patients. It's a benefit to me if you rush your town hall but I still have to warn you that I love finding premmie TH9. Nothing short of max. TH8 defenses will stop me.

i would cancel and get that half my money back. Do you have any idea how good loot is for a th8? Get hogs to lev4, upgrade your pekkas. Both those troops are worthless to you until you do and you have plenty of attack power right now.

you get AQ, lv.6 troops, lv.5 hogs for the firepower (witch will come later)
then you get more drills and 4-th storage for better production.
then you get more walls, ad, wt, tesla, at, bombs and xbows for much better defense

there is no point to stay on th8 after you got lv.5 basic troops.

Im bored. Whats "stupid" (for the poster above) is to remain bored in a game which I am playing for fun. .

What does needing to have to make millions of elixir for xbows have to do with anything? What a dumb comment. If I waited to max th8, would that make the amount of elixir I need for xbows decrease or something? As soon as I go TH9 the first upgrades will be the army camp. And I will be collector raiding TH8's with four boosted barracks and level 5 barbs and archers. And Ill get rich doing it. I make millions farming in two hours with all boosted barracks. Big deal.

Taking a year to max out? It would take a year to max out 9 whether I do some of my upgrading which could have been done at th8 at TH9 instead, its not going to change the amount of time which it ultimately takes to max out TH9. It would take the same amount of time. So your logic is illogical, at best.

loot is so awesome at TH8 i'm surprised you would leave that. GL finding 200k off a TH7.

Stupid Decision, loot is so much better at TH8

There is a lot of loot at a nearly maxed th8. I thought walls would be a pain, but it wasn't. My lab had very little down time and I upgraded black walls really quick.

If you go to Th9 without the fully upgraded your going to get raided a lot. This will make it slower to upgrade and its a long uphill battle to correct this. You think you're bored now? Lol

Its also going to match you with tougher war opponents. Costing you more resourses adding to your slow progress.

Thats how I look at it anyways.

I'm in the process of upgrading to TH9 early, this is what I currently have
Troops/Spells: lvl6 barb king. lvl5 - barbs, arch, wbs, giants, loons. lvl4 - gobs, lightning. lvl3 - drags, wiz, minions, rage, heal. lvl2 - hogs.
Defences: walls 98 pink, 126 purple, 1 skull. x3 lvl6 mortars, x3 lvl5 air def, x3 lvl4 wiz tower, x2 lvl2 x1 lvl3 tesla, x4 lvl8 x1 lvl9 cannons, x2 lvl7 x2 lvl8 x1 lvl9 arch tower.

Now some say max TH8 first but this is the problem if I had decided to max first I'd still be losing over 1k of my DE per raid due to those TH9's with their lvl6 giants and I can't get it back on revenge because their base has xbows as well as AQ and more defences so why am I gonna let that happen every day just to max some defences, the way I see it is go to TH9 get the AQ, lvl6 giants, camp upgrade and all the rest then let's see how much DE I lose per day. Oh but wait a sec then I'll face the same type of scenario with TH10's lol but that's just how the game is TH10 take from TH9, TH9 take from TH8 so forget about maxing defences unless your TH10 because no matter what TH you are there's always gonna be someone that will get your loot

Don't do it. Max out your TH8.

BTW what level are your golems, wizards, pekkas, and dark barracks?
GoWiPe is good at th9, i agree, but offense is only 50% of clan wars. In elite warring clans, you have to have a great defense. There is no point in rushing your TH to get more firepower if your opponent's th8 members can 3star you, thus, leaving their th9 members with more attacks on possible 2 stars on your th10s or more chances for 3stars on your th9s
