So a clanmate is using all archer attack in farming and shared a replya. The elders tried to convince his that barch is better because barb will tank for the archers and that the train time of barch is low.
but his reaction was not good when the elders advised his so ending up to him getting kicked.
My question is, what is an all archer attack good for?
Sniping buildings? Otherwise, a mix of barbarians is better.
Not much. One would need a bit more massive of an attack than they would if barching. Two or three barbarians can save more archers and help them snipe some more loot than just a group of archers that would be left in a sorry state from splash damage. Overall you're saving yourself more elixir and time with just a handful of added barbarians.

I used mass archer before I used BArch. It works well but doesn't have tanks so is vulnerable to splash damage
If the mortars and wizard towers are more toward the inside archers are good however most bases have their mortars closer to the outside so they can hit troops behind the walls this is where you use your barbs to distract the mortars and then deploy archers to kill the building
Only for collector raids. For storage raids, you're not gonna do very well.
You can actually do a lot of damage with just archers.
