The reason why Supercell will NOT lower wall prices.

Hey,

So recently, i have noticed that most guys are rumoring that the next update will feature 'reduced wall prices' or just topics to do with the price of walls. I regret to say that this WILL NOT BE THE CASE most likely.

The reason for this is that all the guys who have spent any gems at all on gems to buy the walls will request refunds on their gems, as if they had done it after the wall price reduction, it would have cost them a heck of a lot less. So, the question i ask you is... Do you think Supercell would reduce wall prices, knowing that they would have to lose a lot of their profits? I think the answer to that would be 'no'.

If the Walls rumours are true in any way, it is far more likely that they will be modified in some way other than price, as they serve the biggest part in supercell's income.

Supercell ain't got time to worry 'bout a couple hundred fools getting a refund over their walls. I do agree they most likely will not reduce the cost of walls before the next level comes out.

If they decide to reduce them, they will and we cant do nothing against it, heroes were nerfed and the update thread had about 600 pages of complaining and they didnt listen.
Though I dont think they will reduce the wall cost just yet, but I am sure they will eventually, at the latest when they add a new wall lvl

Exactly! They weren't freaking out when people were refunding gems for their heroes.

I don't think they will lower wall prices either, but it is possible. They have lowered prices on items before.....

But, walls are the most expensive thing on the game, by far! Its around 75 million just for level 7 walls (Or there abouts). It would cost around £70 just for level 6 walls. And, the gemmers out there arnt the easiest people to get along with (or at least the ones i've met) they will try and get their money's worth!!

So what, they will get their refund then. Its about the farmers who are butthurt because they farmed Legos, Lavas or even Zaps. You can refund money, but you cant refund time. And if you look into wall threads there are a LOT of salty farmers who would flip their ♥♥♥♥ if walls would be reduced because it is so unfair because they paid for the old prices. You know, the typical whining.

If they decide to lower prices, there will be no refunds lol. If you buy a new car for $20,000 and I buy the same make/model next year for $10,000 you don't get a refund....it's economics, prices go down.

One word. Obsolescence.
The car s price goes down because there are newer, better cars on the market. But as long as you dont have lvl 12 walls the best will be lvl 11.

I can't find the thread now, but after the Seattle meet-up there were a few speculation threads, many talking about walls.

The main issue was the reduction in cost. SuperSteve commented in that thread that the change "will not be what people fear most".

Cryptic as always, but I think that means it won't be reduction in cost.

I don't think they will, but I'm ok either way. Of course I don't have maxed walls either lol.

I do not foresee a discount on walls. However, if there is a discount it may be in terms of bulk purchase. For instance if a player buys 2 walls pieces there is a 5% discount, etc. There is no way SC will discount walls more because thousands will request refunds, and yes Apple does give them out.

The thing people fear most could also be level 12 walls.

Last update people have asked for a refund and many people have gotten $1000-$2500 refund just from heroes, walls cost a lot more money than heroes, so imagine all the angry champs who have bought max walls which makes hundreds of thousands of dollars altogether.

What actually happened was that people used the excuse of the hero nerf to scam refunds of the last ninety days of purchases , regardless of how much was spent on heroes. 90 days being the time limit, and most who are inclined to be scammers having already gotten their refund, the refunds for walls would likely be less, IMO.

Too focused on price of walls...
Flip the script, and I will say add more walls.
Read other threads on jump spells.
My two cents.
Then the Backstreet Boys will have another Reunion in CoC fashion.

Idk whats they'll do so until then I'm buying any walls. You guys should do the same

I don't see why people want to lower the price of the walls. It's a fun part of the game too! If they lower the prices of the walls everyone will have extremely good walls really fast and it won't be any fun. Some people payed to get them, so what? Most of the gemmers don't even attack at all like us, the ones that play most of our day, getting much more fun than the gemmers get. Walls are part of defenses too, stop arguing about their cost and start attacking.

Now, people who rush town halls like a lot of town hall 10s I've seen with level 6 or 7 walls, turn your device off and quit the game, you suck.

I know this may be a controversial thing to say but maybe lowering wall prices call help the whole COC community.

Yes some people may be upset if wall prices are reduced, but these same people are likely to be wanting the game to progress, meaning more TH's, more structures and more troops, meaning more loot needed.

Walls have generally been a sink for players gold, so if wall prices are reduced, then over time the amount of gold in the economy would likely increase and therefore more gold would be available for everyone.

This would be greatly increased if the incentive to sink gold into walls was also reduced such as the jump spell, and what ever ideas SC might have to balance it all.

I guess the new flying troop might also may the game more balanced between ground and air, making walls more obsolete.

I am no economist so I might be talking out of my big toe.

I don't think people can get refunds on walls, even if the price is cut. The case is different with heroes' nerf. With last update, the heroes were nerfed but the price were the same, which mean you get lower quality product for the same price. In case of walls what might happen is the opposite, the walls remain same but the price is lowered which means you get higher quality product for same price.

Agreed, they will not reduce wall prices.

I myself am OK with the prices. Call me crazy, but walls are meant to set apart the dedicated or rich. versus the undedicated or poor. If the wall prices were CHEAP, everyone would have level 11s and it would get boring very quickly.

By dedicated i mean those who put hours into farming walls*

Why would they know "they would have to lose a lot of their profits"?

People can request a refund, but that doesn't mean they would get one, nor be in any way entitled to one.

All sorts of things in life have their price reduced at various times. This doesn't mean those who bought at the old price are entitled to a refund, any more than people who bought at a lower price have to pay more if the price goes up later.

I would be very surprised if that were true. Who would gem walls, when there are so many of them?

I would think there are 2-3 main sources of income - the biggest of which is probably people boosting barracks, then gemming hero upgrades to use them in war.
