Communication is key - true
Clan management is your responsibility- true
Make SC produce a tool that will "coerce" people into wars- false
Although you're right about steps to avoid the current issues that many people face, you are misinterpreting the premise. Im only suggesting that leaders have the option to choose who goes to battle and who doesn't before the war search starts( without the need to remove/re invite). Giving more control to leaders and better clan management. I believe the current penalty for war is good enough for me, but others don't. SC will listen to the fans if enough people bring up this topic's awareness and even though i support this idea, it won't have an impact on my outlook on this game if the change is made or not. I hope i was able to clear up the misunderstanding.
We kick anyone who doesn't want to war and anyone that is new. Then invite them back. I hate losing and war is important so you better be sure I trust everyone that goes to war with me.
Still, with that said it still happens. A guy doesn't show his true colors until war starts. We have been working hard at our attacks and now we dont even blink an eye when someone leave during war. We used to follow them around and ask for them to come attack or pester them if they didnt. Now we have the war in the bag more often than not and two quitters wont make a difference.
The opt-in/opt-out feature would help with this problem.
Clan leaders would be able to decide if they want to have a rule in which all new players must opt-out until they have proven their loyalty to the clan.
Or clan management can. I still dont like the war base saved layout. With it there you would still have people who cant get their town halls inside giving the more organized clan an advantage. Add in the opt-out feature as a checkbox would just further take War in the wrong direction imo.
A well organized, active clan SHOULD have an advantage over the "tourists". Not only in the attacks but how the war is run. The more tactical things you automate the less like war it becomes and more like T-Ball.
give them a "deserter" buff that doesnt allow them to participate in any war activities for 3 days.
Look at it this way. Let's say they implement a penalty and it is the penalty to end all penalties. They also develop a way for their device to determine intent so the penalty is applied fairly. Now what? What do you suppose these people, who are now being coerced to stay and would otherwise leave, will do? Do you think they will contribute massively to your effort? Why would you want these people to stay in your clan?
Hypothetical utopian situations aside, people have a right to leave your clan at any time for any reason. Since the above theoretical brain scanner isn't possible, you cannot enact a penalty without penalizing innocents. This makes a penalty a non starter.
The fact is if you have a chronic problem with people leaving during a war, that problem is your fault. Not there's. The sooner you realize and internalize that the sooner you can take steps to fix it.
