Day & Night - the next tactical element
Team, long time reader first time poster.
I've been thinking about what I'd like to see lately in CoC to jazz things up, so of course my first stop was to the recommendations sections. I was eager to find this on the currently listed ideas or at least on the ruled out ones. Surely I'm not the first to conceive this fairly simple idea?
Alas, the lists suggest maybe I am. SO! To the idea.
A dark wizard, turned from his sworn faith of defending his village, tired on the ongoing wars, exiles himself to explore what dark and mysterious magic he can create. One fateful night, he conjures a beast of darkness that he cannot control, so to save his own life he enchants the dark beast and sends him to the skies where he can plague the world every 6 hours, forming what we know as night and day!
Pros
- Asthetics; everything always looks better at night all lit up
- tactics; night could influence a number of different elements to attacking and defending, from troop paths, visibility, building priority, new spells for visibility, new troops for visibility or strengths at night (did anyone say warewolves?)
- adds a new dimension to your game play. For those who sit on the game a fair bit, if it is changing day and night it gives us something interesting to work with every few hrs, by breaking up what we're looking at and thinking about our strategy in the game.
Cons
- Supercells work load
Imagine having ing to now consider entirely new strategies for different cycles of night and day.. Wars could have the same thing too, meaning that timezones are NOT the only element that dictates people's attack times, but also the games day and night cycle.
I look forward to people's thoughts.
Cheers
