Beside free loot, what's the point of the leagues?

It's been my mantra all day... updates are like cooking, you can always add more flavor, but you can't take it away.

Leagues provide a foundation for future updates. Once they have tweaked the leagues and everything is settled, it gives SC room to add on additional features.

Be patient or quit. If you quit, please put collectors and mines outside.

Never said I was quitting. Just questioning the leagues because they said it was the coolest thing about the update. So far, an extra few thousand gold/elixer is nothing to be excited about.

Btw if people quit, they'll make the account nonexistent.

The point is to give players a reason to climb up in trophy rating, it faild tho becose nobody cares about 3000 extra loot.

False. The accounts still remain once deleted on iphone/ipad.

They need a gem reward for top three of each league

The leagues give more value to trophies. Before, you could just farm and not really care much about trophies (I guess you still CAN do this).

Now, there is a little board that shows your progress against your peers, so you can either look like a loser and get booted out of the league or show the world (okay, show YOURSELF) that you are da man and know how to strategize well or find THs that are outside faster than everybody else.

Leagues, & the egregious removal of the level indicator, is to try to make us all trophy hunters. I wish sc would respect the farmers. Personally, I'm dropping trophies in protest... I'll join the many other 100+ level players in the dirt league ;)

And rational farmers will still do the exact opposite of this because it is still the most profitable way to play.

So many complainers... :P So what if it's just a few thousand? It's better than nothing. So you would rather receive 0 rather than a small boost each time? It's completely worth it, and it builds up over time. I'd bet most of you play this game for free, not everything has to be a walk in the park, the game is made like this way as a challenge, otherwise getting 10K+ loot bonus each time would make everything too easy.

Supercell, keep doing what you're doing, this is one of the best free apps on the market :D

Guess I wasn't. Good start to a change we wanted to see.
I would like our levels back, that's about the only thing I can complain about on this update.

I think leagues are a complete waste, so I don't care that the bonuses are laughable. Just give us our levels back.

I never understand these responses about "Be patient or quit". People complain because they care about the game, if they don't care, they won't even post it here and just quit. So if you were cooking and added a bad piece of ingredient, you will just cover it with other flavors to hide it and serve it? nice...

The point of the leagues is to draw high level players up to the 2000+ trophy range for higher bonuses, creating a more even trophy distribution and improving balance.

Oh, and farmers won't be able to sit at the same spot. As people start moving up in trophy range, you'll find yourself matched with lower level bases and get hit with loot penalties.

I would have thought the point of the leagues was to give more players a better sense of accomplishment. People can now compete in smaller groups and feel the rush of coming out on top and the downs of not quite achieving their own personal competitive goals. The bonus is certainly not the purpose of the leagues;it's just what it says it is, a bonus--a bonus commensurate with their overall standing in the CoC community.

ETA: I try to not confuse purpose with consequence.

I am a level TH8

when i saw free dark elixir i was like damn i have to go to 2200 trophies by tonight ... i jumped from 1250 to 1700 and now i am suffering coz i have no gold to upgrade, this reduce spell is making me spend more actually and I dont have the gold or elixir to upgrade ...
