Banned For NO REASON! Supercell Staff Must Read This!

Also: As of today (9-1-14) I'm back onto global.

Guess what? I got banned from Global (2nd Time) fro no reason! Wanna know the story? Well here it is. After I tell my story I'll discuss how we can solve this problem.

Once upon a time....I woke up, I showered and ate breakfast. After that I got onto Clash. Then as you know i'm [CLANLESS] so when I got onto clash, I went to global. I said "Clan" as normal and got like 7 invites. I joined this guy who was a crystel becuase he's crystel i mean who won't join him! So I joined and guess what! After I joined him eveeryone who I didn't join reported me and I GOT BANNED!! So I pretty much I got banned from global for what.....not joining your clan?

So did I insult you or have inappropriate behavior? I just didn't join your clan. Like....WHAT. I just can't beleve it.
Now here are some of my soultions for this:

1) You can only report people if they use insulting words.
So you know words like (Stupid, hate, weird) Or any curse words? You can only report people if they use these types of words.

2) Increase the report limit.
So I think the limit is 7 people and you get reported? How about 14? Or double whatever is the limit now.

3)Add The Color Limit.
So Now the color limit would mean this, Only bronze can report bronze, Crystel report crystel, silver reports silver And So On. But! champions can be reported by anybody since there are not many champions on global.

So thats my idea, but just fix this please! Peace!

Hey sorry you got banned from global chat....but it is an extremely well-known issue with no solution.

just stay off global....its that simple people, use some common sense. If your in need of a clan theres a sub forum for that that has way better clans than you'll ever get on global

You joined a clan because they have a crstyal, that's stupid, also so I a lvl 85 th9 in gold can't report some noob in silver or some noob talking about how good he is in crstayal

Yes but I love global there are many nice people. But then there are also mean people.

All 3 of those ideas seem pretty untenable honestly. Global is an imperfect system, and we all know it, but the constraits here (legally and the demographics of global) make it pretty much unfixable in my opinion...

Let's be real here, how many people would rather they add a hundred global mods as opposed to a hundred extra support staff? If they add people, it needs to be in the areas that they are most needed, and I honestly can't think of a good reason why global chat would be at the top of that list.

Or they could add unpaid mods, like they do here, but then they would need to find a suitable way to recruit people and hold them accountable for how they moderate. Even on the forums this isn't easy, and it could only be 100x worse on global.

Unpaid mods is the only possible solution, and sadly it's not going to happen.

If they could or would program it to be able to take what a user says and flag it (so you can report them?) then why not just use that as the basis for banning?

But that idea just opened pandora's box since words like "g600k" "Erse" "Dago" "Fart" "Email" and "Skype" are censored words...What the heck is g600k?! I kid you not, type it in Global, it's censored.

Also as a side note, it's 7 reports in 24 hours.

You may have been reported previously and it only took 1 report from that incident to get your Global Chat Banned. That may be something that should require review.


There are many other ways to be offensive without using a censored word....

Will the unpaid mods be player promoted, similar to Forum mods?

How will they insure all globals have 1 mod and not more than 1?

Will these mods be permanently be assigned one global and can never leave this one global?

How will this 1 mod monitor 1 global in a 24 hour basis?

Or will mods be selected and placed in the next available global that didn't have a mod? Out of the hundreds of globals, you'd need at least 5-6 for each to be able to have someone on relatively consistently....

The logistics would be a nightmare...

This would have to be automated, much like the current censors. As we all know, there would be tons of workarounds, except you wouldn't be able to report them at all.

I play quite a few online games from runescape for pking to Warcraft for raiding.
All of which bring a certain amount of obnoxious players. Out of all the games I play I find it is Runescape is trying it's best to calm things down by using player moderators.

Clash of clans is probably the worst I have ever seen for obnoxious players. We all have bad days I get that, but these are far from that.

I know of four people that have quit due to the torrent of abuse sent their way.

All we get from Supercell is an report and mute button. When what we really need are Mods on global that will be able to mute people and send reports to Supercell to recommend bans. Thus freeing up time for Supercell to get things right on this new game.

The games that last are the ones that listen to their players and ignoring them does nothing for a new game.

Fingers crossed this game will be around for a while as it is good. It's a long way off of being excellent though. By sorting out this issue I personally think it would make for a more enjoyable experience.

Edited. Runescape has apparently 18 million active players. The total amount of player mods are 2000. They have not got it totally right yet but they are trying.

I see what you're saying, but even the mods on the forums are quite annoying. The game is free to play and i believe we should be free to say... whatever we want. So be it positive or negative.

At this rate I will be ignoring everyone. You press mute on one person and three others are carrying on with arguing with the nasty tikes. Then you have to delete all of the nice ones so that you don't see any of the conversation.

Mods can be quite intrusive, and Runescape forum mods are quite bad. Their player ingame mods are totally different. They are helpful, kind and will not let people give abuse at all.

Not at all paddy. The ingame player mods will have the ability to mute, as it is now the Dev team has to go through all reports sent to them and then decide to mute or ban. This way all they will get is the recommendation of a ban which the ingame mods will not be able to do.

I would say 80% of them only need muting once or twice to get the message. Giving the Dev team to go through the other 20%

You don't need to have policemen walking around all the time and for them to know every language. All you need is to know they are there if needed.

Most of the people in global will talk in English anyway.

CoC is played by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, there are going to be A LOT of mods out there because heck, if they want to cover every server, jeez.

I totally see what you mean but it's more to do with helping the kids out. They should know it's out of order talking to perfect strangers in the way they do, and by going down the player mod road they will be showing that they will not stand for it.

On many occasions I have spoken to them kindly and fairly and they have apologised, then again others say silly things like they will burn my house down with my family in it and other outlandish things.

Tough comparison man, actual legal trouble in real life is usually far more serious than being banned from a chat in a video game.

Anyway, global is an absolute cesspool of the most immature and purely idiotic behavior. SC knows this, and has given up on it. The sheer amount of man power it would take to regulate global would be astounding and not worth the cost at all. They have won, leave global and retreat to your clan chat. Or, have a much thicker skin.

Hey there. It's not really a tough comparison. Just like a criminal breaking the rules. These people on the cesspit we call global are breaking the rules. So quite a good comparison really.

It would cost them nothing as it will be player mods that do not get paid. Just people who have a love for the game that do not want to see it being ruined by fowl mouthed children.

My skin is extremely thick though sadly not everyone else's is. And as I parent I would not want my son playing the game.

He is 19 now so he would tell me to jog on but as a child he would have been banned.

I have seen instances of what would appear to be grooming of children and we can not ignore that.

Let me solve your problem OP, never ever under any circumstances go on global. I have played this game for about 10 months and never been abused in any way shape or form. Global is for lonely low lives with nothing better to do but stir trouble to get some virtual attention that they are clearly lacking outside of the game.

I totally agree with you. I do though see it a little more different.

Why should others have to suffer because of lazy game creators. Not only that but we are also doing wrong to the people that are acting in such a behaviour. If non tolerance is asserted it shows them that they need to change their ways. Then global can be for everyone and not just the nasty ones. (whom in real life might actually be really nice kids)

No. Seriously, you have the mute and report button. Use it. It's not that hard to. Or just don't go on global. There would be way too many serer to be moderated and it wouldhave to be moderated 24/7.

If you let random people on global get to you i have no idea how you survive on the internet, just focus on the nice people that you are in a clan with, not the jerks on global.

People don't have a right to not get thier feelings hurt. SC has a lot better list if things they need to work before policing global.

Besides, hard to feel sorry for people that run away because some stranger called them a name when the simple solution is to not go on global. I've been playing for a while and I've been on global for about a total of five minutes. That's all it takes to see its nothing but spam.

Just say no to global.
Again just my opinion but I can't stand people who think the world should be changed to protect their feelings because mommy and daddy treated them like a precious little snowflake.

Don't get me wrong, I see little point in mocking strangers over global. It's obviously the work of young kids. You are missing the point though.
Unlike you i have met some extremely nice people on Global. It is as much as you don't like it the back bone of the community.

You are lucky. You have found a clan that is nice and friendly so you don't have to go on there. Not everyone is quite that lucky.

It's not changing the world because little timmy has not had enough hugs. It's to show him that it is not tolerated. Global could be a great place and with an easy fix also.

Thank you for your concern but they do not get to me.
I could quite easily rip them to shreds and make them go of running to thier parents but then that would make me just like them.

If they understand there are consequences to their behaviour then trust me it will change.

Global should be for everyone and not just the Gitts on there. It is the first thing new players have interaction with and it's not a good starting point.

I see it like this. I have been through the forum and noticed some extremely nice people on here. Also some crazy ones but that is by the by.
I see the player mod as an ambassador for the game. So the ones on the forums that come across very diplomatic and helpful would be the ones asked if they would like to be Pmods.

Then once you have so many the Pmods could then recommend players to the Dev team.

According to your solution if I town hall sniped my way to crystal or masters I could talk as much ♥♥♥♥ as I wanted to since the odds of 14 other crystals in one global chat is slim. The odds of them all reporting are even less. Sorry you got banned from global but well its global and you joined a dude because hes in crystal dumb choice. As well your on the forums there's a section dedicated to clan recruitment threads and a thread where you can post if in need of a clan.

The one problem with having players as mods is that that some point SC should have to hire people to make sure the Pmods aren't abusing their power.
There was actually a thread on having chat mods a month or two ago (link is in my sig if you are interested).

It was decided that there were way too many globals to make having mods feasible. I think it could work, but if Supercell doesn't want to do it, then it won't happen.

Come on. The way they have global at the moment is ridiculous. Every game I play you choose what channel you want to be on. Not with this game. Your shoved onto what ever one the system says and then you meet some nice people to talk too, loose connection and never see them again.

They do it this way so they don't have to govern it. As a now multi million pound company this is totally unacceptable.

They would never have to introduce a team to monitor Pmods that abuse their entitlement. If it were then there would be a bigger penalty.
It isn't all about how much work the Dev team has to do. They get paid, it's their job. This is so we can clean up global and make new players feel like they are welcome, not afraid to say anything.
Not just new players. I personally like talking to people on global, and when I come onto it anyone that was being nasty soon disappears and we have a great global chat. Next time you see Queen Lyka you will see what I mean.

They must just think we are whining and don't give a crud.
People report because they feel they can. It makes no odds sometimes on what you say.
This lad that was banned comes across as intelligent and kind. And that is something seriously lacking on most in global.

Well for one his thread was more about being muted for no reason. The player mod was just a sub subject to his thread.
If you like I could name several things Supercell do that is counter productive if you wish?

While the entire thing of having mods on every single chat is sort of ridiculous, the knowledge or the (Dare I say fear) that real mods are out there would likely have a pronounced effect on things.

I also believe that a little thing like a captcha when filing a report would help to reduce the amount of reportings- or even go as far as to have a little match- if a report is made, the computer scans the reported message alongside known phrases, keywords, or lines, and if there's enough of a match, the report is accepted. If not, the report is rejected. This solution, while costly, would require little to no extra employees, and would help to improve the reporting system.

Continuing on an automated solution, computers could also have a running tally of the number of valid reports a certain player racks up. Once the report reaches a certain stage, an auto mated tickets gets sent to support for inappropriate ingame behavior- and if support makes an action against a player, the action gets entered into the computer system and the player's report tally is cleared.

I believe that, while expensive, an automated reporting validation system is feasible for helping to fix global.

What is the point in giving a hundred more support people when they are miles away from the problem?
What you suggest is putting more people on support when the true problem is the global chat. Yes computer software can help the situation but one, it is expensive to create and two it is open to flaws.

My way is tried and tested within other games. It has manged to turn around a game.
As a new player your first point of call is global chat, and when you see the things we see on there its no surprise when they don't want to talk or even just quit the game

The thing is, there aren't just 100 or 200 global servers to monitor. There are thousands, tens of thousands, maybe more. Supercell's entire ideology is to work in small cells to get the job done effectively. Supercell cannot get rid of the report button for logistical as well as legal reasons, and hiring tens of thousands of global chat moderators who are not guarunteed to get the job done goes against the founding beliefs of the company. I think that introducing the mute button was a productive step, but there are still more things that can be done, and right now, from my point of view, having an autonomous system that may appropriately filter 75 or 80 percent of the reports is better than a huge, high maintenance, worldwide moderator force that has the same or lower percentage- or worse, no filter at all.

I am well aware of whom you are that is why I said Zach in my opening statement.

Police have thousands of streets to walk but you knowing that they are there is amount to most people not wanting to commit a crime.

Some people say you can't compare the two, but the simple thing is that they break the rules just the same as the people on global. And the fear (to be a better word) will make them think.

When I open a new company I always look at the best and shadow their ways. What makes our companies better is that we go the extra mile.
Supercell has not done this and I am sorry to say it shows.

Julez, you are a very smart kid, and to be totally honest I wish my son was more like you and he is your senior. I know we have had our disagreements but their is no doubt that I respect you.
