I think that there should be a kill count on towers such as
Wizard tower kill count: x amount.
Archer tower kill count: x amount
The number should rest when the tower is moved as well.
It will give players a better idea of where to place their towers for the most efficiency
What if a player is doing very well with his base and he accidentally moves a building, resetting all the data?

Interesting idea, then I think there should be a reset button.
Yea I think this is a great idea. The only flaw in it is that when a person finds the most optimal base for defense that everybody will copy it and all bases will look the same. Thats not me poking fun but me stating the truth on the matter. I still think its a good idea mainly because I think people will still build their base how THEY think it is most defense efficient.
I like the reset button idea i agree that would work better
And so people won't copy your layout because of the number killed maybe have it so only you and clan mates can see it

If one mortar has 200 kills after 2 raids it could be that it's very well centralized.......or just that someone deployed 100 archers right in front of it.
