Hello everyone!
Welcome to my newest thread containing my ideas for New Troop Place-holder Images in Clash of Clans.
Throughout this thread, I'll go into an overload of detail, clearly explaining the ideas, how everything will look with pictures I created.
I realize this post is more of an "Ideas & Suggestions" thread, so please move if this is a bother in General! Hopefully, it can spend some time in General since it gets a LOT more traffic, and this project has taken A LOT of time creating every picture from scratch. Thanks mods!
Let’s get started!
Introduction
this idea has been suggested before (and I believe in the Sticky) but it's usually only talked about in 1 sentence. So why make this thread? I want to visually show you all how I think this idea would look like if it ever were created and put in-game.
I have created and redesigned how the aesthetic look of the troop place-holders will look throughout each level progression for all of the elixir based troops. (Plus DE Troops, but it's a work in progress: p) For every troop I have created '3' possible designs that could be featured, for example, the barbarian could be just on its own, but I have created another design which features its sword. I have done this because as the troop levels progress upwards, we see not only a design on the character, but also a visual upgrade for its weapon design (colour, size, bulkiness etc...) Hence why I decided to involve a wider range of designs for each troop, so we can see all possibilities and decide which ones are coolest: D
UI
Every time you attack a base, you are given a small bar at the bottom from which you can, select & deploy your troops.

This is a where all the troop place-holders always are, and this brings us onto the next part of this topic, Place-holders!
Place-Holders & Reasoning
Place-holders are what represents the type of troop you have, they display:
1. Troop Image
2. Troop Level
3. Amount of ‘x’ Troop
Currently, COC only shows one type of troop image for every level troop, however I think this should be changed. My reasoning for this is because of how hard we have to grind resources just to attain a higher level. For example, level 6 archers come in at a cost of 7.5million Elixir. This is a high amount of resources for just one troop upgrade and the only change is its stats and aesthetic look. Why not change the place-holders as well? It would be a small but noticeable and appreciable change which really tops off all your hard work trying to get it.
We can now move onto all of my separate designs for each & every troop!
Let’s start with…
Elixir Troops!

I can now showcase my separate designs for each troop in the game. They are up scaled versions of the original and have been made from scratch – All the player models I found were from google images, but, originated from wiki. Some troop levels were hard to come by and there were some that were not available anywhere on the internet. For example, Wallbreaker Level 6 was created by me and is the first of its kind. (It was really hard to find the appropriate materials to create him, but, I managed)
Barbarians

Now we have concluded the Barbarians, we can see that each placeholder matches the visual look of each troop’s level. I have made two types of each troop, one with/without a sword, this is to involve more of a variety to choose from. I made the ones with swords to also show how they differentiate between levels (colour, size...) this all in effect gives you the full sense of your upgrade.
This visual change will continue throughout this post and it will consist of different varieties of designs so we can look at this in many different forms.
Archers

As we can see the archers did not have that much to work with compared to barbarians, the bow fitted to close to her features, therefore I decided to make just one of each design.
Goblins

We have concluded the goblins. They do undergo change from level 1 up to 6 and these two levels we can tell apart very easily, from its sacks colouring, to it Mohican down to the level 6’s woolly/feathery coat!
