I like it and I don't think even 5000 g and e is something to sneeze at if you are someone that wins 15 or 20 times a game.
I wish the reward was a little higher but I still think this isma fun development.

Was a good I idea but execution wasn't good. What am I supposed to do with 8500 gold and elixer? I mean really, it makes no difference at all.
Thing is you guys saying free gold and elixir it is true but they like reduce the amount you can steal from 25% to who knows 20%??? It is like infinitely harder to find a good base to raid the extra bit of gold doesn't help it just reduces the chance of finding a good base to raid with people with resources but if we get Way higher on trophy counts The army you need cost like 10 times more.
Bonus: For that amount bonus I don't even mind receive it or give it out.
The league symbel: You put it everywhere even replace some more important content that shows before. If you know how the difference palyers survial in the game you must know for most players trophy is meaningless, but the LV is not. Players don't adore the league symbel but the inventor enjoy his invention so irrationally flaunt it everywhere.
Spell creating time: Now lightingers will lighting more, and more people join lightinger, I can't hold enough dark elixr for hero upgrade any more, people insanely lighting me after update.
Think about it.
Rewards are reduced by 5% of the total. So suppose you're getting 1100 as a reward. This is 5% of 22k. So if you're raiding more than 22k each gold and elixir, you've lost money. I dont' know how it works at every level, but for most of them, this little prize doesn't offset the 5% loss. Certainly it doesn't for any of the leagues in my trophy neighborhood.
I.e. this "bonus" money, combined with the reduced plunder, is a net reduction in winnings - the added resources doesn't come close to offsetting the loss.
Now consider the motivation to raid at a higher level. The difference between league rewards is, relative to the plunder at those levels, trivial. For instance, for me, comfortably raiding as a TH7 in the 950-1150 range, I'd have to move to 1200+ to go from a 1700 reward to a 2500 reward - a difference of a mere 800.
I know from experience, that I'm far less likely to get nice juicy raids at the 1200 level than I am at the 1000 level. That's why I dropped my trophies in the first place - so I could have more reliable success. That 800 is a pittance when I'm targetting towns for a total of 150k resources, something I manage a lot more regularly at 1000 trophies than at 1200.
So, again, the league bonuses are useless - they're nowhere near providing any sort of incentive to change behavior.
Upshot:
* Leagues mean reduce raiding payout, even with the token "bonus" at the end of a raid
* Leagues offer no incentive (at least no resource incentive) to get to a higher trophy level
* League "shields" are far less useful and informative than levels, yet have replaced level indications in clan chat and raiding displays (which is where we want to know players' level - who cares what their league is?)
* League rankings and membership and all that are, again, meaningless - both socially (you can't chat, and why would you want to anyway?) and in terms of gameplay.
A great bit PFFFFFTTT.
This is why I suggest (back on "page 9" of this thread) a type of reward that can only be gotten based on trophy levels. (Click back to page 9, or do a search on "gold elixir".)
Implement something like that - were you really do get a meaningful reward for higher trophies, and it might actually have some effect on the gameplay and strategy.
Introducing a big loot incentive for what is essentially a trophy hunting style of play (trying to win all battles and defenses) could—and almost certainly would—alter the current ecosystem/economy, of clash of clans. In the current system, trophy hunting and farming are yin and yang. Mess with that and who knows how it might affect the game. Supercell is treading lightly with this approach. So flame away. They're just happy you're still playing!
I still don't see any functionality in the leagues. It's just a badge for being in some trophy range. Loot bonus is too small to matter, and that's all the functionality in leagues as far as I can see.
So, does it mean being in some league?
Do others in my league mean something?
Does end of season mean something?
Is there something in leagues I should know about, something to work for, something to try to achieve?
I'm at about 1707 trophies (gold 2) and it says 1600/1799 to be promoted... Yet my friend is 1736 and he's in gold 1... Is there different systems based on luck or something?
Check out the original post in this thread. You don't get demoted to a lower league until you go lower in trophies than the original cutoff point (I think for gold 1, you get in at 1800, but don't get demoted unless you go down below 1700). This is to give people a chance to get back up if one loss drops them back down. It also reduces the amount of league switching in general, which probably is nicer on their servers.
