A couple squabbles on prioirty of some of the defenses but big picture line up except that you have mortars last. Mortars are capable of dealing damage to more than just barch troops so i dont understand how they could come after point defenses.
DE drills are important as hell.
Go to sleep, wake up 9 hours later and your max lvl DE drill is almost full. The max is over 1000 DE and it can produce quickly. It crazy how fast you get DE with the drill
Most importantly your listing seems to imply that you are going to max defense before upgrading drills, why cant both happen at the same time? Once I was done with lab,sf,camps I left one builder to work remaining elixir upgrades while remaining 3 work defenses. Why pass up all that extra de while waiting for defenses to max?
There are some valid points raised by different people in this thread. The importance of DE pumps goes hand-in-hand with the player type. If you are a hardcore farmer, then you can accumulate 20-50k of DE per day via your attacks... in which case 4800 DE from having 2 maxed pumps isn't a huge deal. It certainly adds up over the course of weeks and months, but its not life or death.
If you are a more casual player, then farming DE is probably more challenging/daunting for you. In this case, passively earning 4800 DE per day could make the game a lot more enjoyable and might ensure steady forward progress with your dark troops and heroes (which are some of the most fun parts of the game IMO). The AQ makes farming much more enjoyable and easy, especially once she is at level 5. Couple that with a BK over level 5 and you've got some great firepower as a casual player. So in this case, having max pumps early in TH9 might allow you to advance your heroes (or dark troops) to higher levels than you anticipated. And you will do that more quickly than you would have otherwise.
I hit TH9 approx 2.5 weeks ago and I decided to rush my DE pumps (even though I farm pretty hard). One is upgrading to max, and the other is level 5. I have no regrets about prioritizing the pumps over other defensive upgrades.
The other thing to mention, is that this decision also relates to how many builders you have. Dedicated 1-2 to DE pumps early in TH9 is okay if you have 5 builders. But if you have fewer builders, then you should focus more on lab, camps, CC, etc.
Ultimately, the decision is personal. If you want the passive DE income, then do it. If you want to farm the DE, then hold off.
