How important is DE drill at th 9?

This isn't about maxing them, this is a prioritization decision. of course max drills are better than non-maxed drills. The reality is one must prioritize resources and this allocation depends on a variety of factors. Sadly, this requires some planning and consideration of details which might be challenging if it truly took 12 levels of the AQ to realize she didn't do splash damage

As a frequent raider, I would first invest in camps and troops with DE drills as a 3rd priority. As an infrequent raider, DE drills gain more value on a relative basis. Maxed drills are not however mandatory.

PS: If you actually had experience with an AQ and high dark values, you'd not only have noticed she does single target damage, but once you are ~40K vs <25K, you will get raided more. I'm not sure what league you play in, but I prefer easy street in crystal 2 and this has been my experience. Powering through 40K --> 75K+ is greatly facilitate by a few long sessions where drills have little bearing

Clearly, if you're in a higher league, you would have to adopt a strategy. I am grinding out lego walls and lava next by barching, so I go where the Th8's are, or gold 2. People have very little luck taking my DE in gold 2. What you have said is only valid for c2, as what I have said is also only valid for g2.

I agree DE drill are NOT the first priority for TH9. Lab/AQ would be first, along with spell factory and army camp. However, for some people the DE drill is very low on their priority, and I think that is a mistake.

What is your question? Do you doubt my AQ is lvl 12, or are you still doubting I have an AQ? I only hit Th9 a couple of months ago, and I only start upgrading my AQ past lvl 10 two weeks ago. My argument about everything else stands and is backed up by numbers. If you're going to make a counter argument about the importance of DE drill upgrades at TH9, I hope you find something more valid and relevant than the fact I mistakenly thought the AQ does splash damage.

No and yes. Mine are now max. As i first started th9 all lix went to sf, camps and troop upgrades. As i started upgrading de troops the lix started to over flow and i did the drills then.

Their worth. Sometimes as i was just raiding for gold with loonion, de would lag with both pumps upgrading. Now i still notice gain after gian in the storage tank only because both maxed drills are online.

But be careful. Those full maxed drill will gather the attention of the big boys so keep them empty

I also thought AQ do splash damage until I read this...because everytime I sent a group of archer to AQ, she seemed to give splash damage.....

Very informative, guess I will use one of my builders for camps and elixir storage. I raid a lot so might as well leave the DE drill as a 3rd priority as someone said and level my offensive builds/troops including elixir storage etc first. Thanks

For me the DE drills are the least important elixir upgrades. There are also a lot of gold upgrades I prioritize above the drills like castle, teslas, air defense, wizard towers and crossbows. For me its somewhere around Canons, Archer Towers and Mortar to 7 (my least favorite).

Wow, so much wrong with this in my opinion.

Maxing the de drills is not high priority because lab, camps, sf are much more important. However after these are done then getting the second drill to level 3 makes a noticeable difference. Research at th9 is very expensive so being able to switch back and forth between lix and de research helps a lot. getting the second drill to level 3 makes a noticeable difference. The drills don't really start to shine until level 4 but I wouldn't prioritise level 4-6 too highly. The truth is you don't really want to be holding large amounts of de until your defences have been upgraded a bit.
